What was the deal with this package? Was she supposed to open it, was she supposed to leave it alone? It had shown up on her doorstep with a note of sorts (Chuppi suspected that Blaise stole the note and used it for something) so she was at a loss as to what exactly it was.
Perhaps this 'Danny' person knew what it was (Chuppi had managed to catch 'Danny' before the note was gone) and so the little monster set about finding her...only to be at a loss. Chuppi knew neither her actual name if Danny was a nickname and didn't know....where she was staying. Was this Danny a demon? A monster? It would have been so smart for her to try to figure all this out before wandering around like a lost minipet.
Stopping at a nearby bench outside of the classroom area, Chuppi looked at the package that she had been toting with her. "Should I eat this?"

The "mysterious ghoul" was doing something very un-mysterious at the moment. Danny Fitz was throwing a maceball against a wall, catching it, and then repeating the process. Supposedly it built upper body strength, but let's face it; Danny was probably just out here to escape the confines of her room. She was a rather fidgety ghoul after all.
Either way, it only took one bad throw to send the ball flying across the field. Dang that thing got distance. Danny was actually rather proud of herself for that, but then, she didn't have much time to appreciate it because she was quickly running after it.
It landed near a smallish ghoul who had a thermos and was looking rather ... well perplexed. Whatever it was, it didn't stop Danny from shouting, "Oyyyyy! Can you throw that back over here?"

Chuppi jumped a little bit as something landed near her, a round object that likely would have caused serious damage had it impacted anywhere on her body. Not being the athletic type other than to run track and field she'd never seen a maceball before. She lifted the object into her hand and was looking at it with a puzzled expression right as someone hailed her. "?" Was she supposed to throw this? Really?
Without much though into it the monster pulled her arm back and let the ball go, sending it way pass the person calling her and off into the distance. Apparently she could throw a lot harder than she though even though Chuppi had only intended to toss it. ". . . lo siento." Maybe an apology right away would prevent any pain from raining down upon her.

Danny was only a few feet away, and so it was only logical that she expected the ball to be politely tossed to her. Then she would return to chucking it against a wall, and all would be well.
That didn't happen though. Instead, as she was running forward, the ball went flying past her, causing her to double take. The ball landed about twenty feet from her instead of the original intended five feet. DANG.
It. Was. So. Cool.
"WOOOOAH," Danny said, eyes bright and wide at the chupacabra on the bench, "You've got a great arm!!" The fire demoness rushed over and started shaking this maceball-genius' hand vigorously. "What's your name? Mine's Danny. We just gotta have you on the team or something!"
This ghoul looked vaguely familiar, but Danny couldn't place it. Maybe groanspring? A stray class? Oh well, all that mattered was how good she was at throwing that ball!

OH SWEET JACK DID CHUPPI DO SOMETHING WRONG BECAUSE THIS PERSON HAD SHOUTED AND - ffffff why was she coming over here now? Did it really have something to do with her arms (why were they nice) or maybe she just....? The monster basically bristled up as best she could by the time the person arrived though she all but deflated when they took her hand and shook it. Hard. This 'Danny' wasn't...angry?
"Te....Temes. My name is Temes." She slowly (but politely) pulled her hand out of Danny's grasp and looked up at the demon, feeling a bit uneasy. Her quills were still very much up on point and she was nervous to boot, but at least she didn't feel like she was going to be attacked or anything. "Nice...to meet you, Danny. And...what team are you talking about?"
Not the track team, unless they had decided to restart without her. That thought made her want to cry.

If Temes thought her quills were scary, she definitely wasn't thinking the Danny way. Even though she was supposed to be scared, Danny just further cried out in delight. "Ahhh! You have spiney thingies too! That's so coooooool!!" Was she over-the-top? Yes. Absolutely.
Eventually Danny let go of Chuppi's hand, instead choosing to reach out and touch one of the spines. Just as she was about to touch it, the ghoul started takling. So her name was Temes? Hadn't they talked on groanspring before?
"Nice ta meetcha!" Danny said, pulling back her hand and casually placing it behind her head, if not a bit awkwardly. "I was talkin' about the maceball team! Well ... we don't actually have a team yet I don't think, but I mean when we do!" Could she make this enounter more confusing? Probably not.

Chuppi almost pulled back as a hand went for her quills, sighing a gentle puff of relief when the hand stopped. She didn't like her quills to be touched - they were actually a lot sharper than they looked. It was part of the reason she had very few hugs, or so she kept telling herself. If Danny had so much as stroked part of her quill there was a chance she'd have pulled back a cut hand, or one without a few fingers.
Growing older man her spines were growing much, much sharper.
Softly, she decided that it was okay to speak again. "I do not know what maceball is. Is that a sport since you have a team?"

Danny stared at Chuppi. And stared. And stared.
Gosh those spikes were cool. Chuppi was definitely the ghoul she'd seen on groanspring, there was no doubt about that. The picture was uncanny! The skin color, the thermos. All of it was there!
Wait, wait- what did the ghoul just say? Oh no. Danny completely zoned out! So instead, she tried changing the subject. "Uhh ... yeah. So. Whatcha got there?" she said, referring to the package near her. It looked like her Rabo, but Danny didn't remember dropping it off to anyone named "Temes." Hmmm.

"This? It showed up in front of my room one day, with a note. Maybe it was from you? I don't know what it is." Chuppi held the package out and looked it over, her clawed finger idly tapping the top of it. "I was going to try and open and see what was inside."
Every now and then the strange box would wiggle on her lap and it made her nervous, so very nervous. What if this thing was dangerous and she carried it around like some kind of firefox? "I do wonder if it is edible."

Now Danny was very confused. She was positive she didn't drop off a Rabo to anyone named Temes. She was pretty good about remembering who she dropped Rabos off to, even the ones who were strangers to her. What a conundrum!
How could it not be her Rabo though? The writing on the tag was exactly the same, and the wrapping style was uncanny. "Well who's it from?" Danny asked innocently. Perhaps it was just a mistake.
The little box wiggled and made a small noise, also definitely Rabo-like. Danny was still too stupid to put it all together, but she at least offered up, "And I think eating it would be bad."

"I...I have not seen it since which is why I am very confused. There was a tag that had the name 'Gus' on it, if that was a thing? Do you know of a Gus?" Danny had said that eating whatever was inside would be a bad idea, even though it wriggled and made noises (which, to Chuppi, meant edible). "It makes noises every now and then, so could something be alive in it?"
Oh, she would feel so bad if she kept something alive in a box for entirely too long. Dead things came when left in boxes and then they smelled horrible. The cleaning gnomes, there was only so long she could keep allowing them to remove dead things from her room before she would have to answer their questions and, to be honest, she did not wish to do that any time soon. "I guess then I would be in best interest to open it, right?"

Danny still hadn't made the connection that it really was a Rabo. Even though it looked like one, and had the wrappings of one, and even had a tag in that same strange cursive print like all the others, she still wasn't convinced.
Either way, Danny was getting fidgety from sitting so long (really it had only been a few minutes, but it was already feeling like forever for the overactive ghoul). "Well ... I guess so. Why not?" she said, staring off at nothing. Clearly her mind was elsewhere.
Suddenly she snapped her fingers. "Chuppi!" she stated, "You're Chuppi, the ghoul from groanspring!" Danny was actually rather proud of that one.

"Ah, yes. Chuppi is my nickname from the students here, and . . .oh, then you are Danny from there as well! Was this the gift you had randomly mentioned handing out then to others?" she placed both hands atop the box now, feeling whatever was inside squirm for the first time in a while. Sounds and more movement, there really was something alive in here! "I need to get this open then, it's moving now, oh no."
The monster was worried and pulled at the strings, the not willing to relent itself at her protests. If she pulled any harder there was a chance she was going to snap the ribbon altogether and that would have been horrible. If the strings snapped than the only way to get what was in out] would be to break it with her fists. What if whatever was inside was killed by her?!
"I...broke the strings."

"You're supposed to," she said bluntly, looking pointedly at the box. Chuppi didn't really understand much did she! (Nevermind how hypocritical that statement was). Danny giggled, but her pocket vibrating distracted her.
Doing that little my-pocket-is-vibrating-just-a-second dance, she tugged her phone out of her pocket and looked at the screen. After a few moments figuring out how to answer it, she said, "Hi! ... No I'm with Chuppi ... Now? ... Okayokayokayokay. I'm coming, I'm comingggg."
With that she shoved the phone back in her pocket, not even bothering to end the call (and let's face it, she wouldn't know how to end the call). "I gotta go. Bye Chuppi!" With that, she was gone.
