Jude was just staring at one of the dummies with his arms crossed over his chest. He seemed to be pondering the plausibility of actually smacking the damn thing around or just maybe going off to find someone that would face off with him instead, the latter seemed much more entertaining to him. He shifted his footing from one to the other as he tried to figure out who he could possibly talk into playing a game of 'trading hits' with him.

Everything seemed to be turning into a game lately.

Pursing his lips a bit he turned on his heels facing away from the dummies he tried to see if he could find an interesting person to square up against and then he saw her. He only talked to Candace a handful of times and only knew her name was Candace thanks to orientation and other similar events where her name floated about.

He had no real opinion of her other than usually she held her own fairly well and thus this made her a prime 'target' for him. Jude let his arms fall toward his sides as he wandered over to her, "Hey? You busy?"

Candace was pissed. Her pride had been shattered nearly to smithereens, her back was sore and not even for a good damn reason, and on top of all that she lost to a goddamn idiot who had no ******** right to hold a ******** grudge against her and why wouldn't this dummy die already?! Candace punched and kicked at the dummy, deciding it would be a better option than beating up one of her fellow trainees or something. A dummy couldn't hate her. A dummy couldn't look upon her with judging eyes that it had no right to have.

Candace... She sliced at the dummy again. Candace. Another kick and a punch. CANDACE. She finally stopped and nearly yelled 'WHAT' when she noticed...she nearly broke the dummy.

Whoops.

Someone was approaching, she could see it in the corner of her eye. Candace turned to see who it was and nearly asked who they even were. Wait. Waaaaaait..uh..Jude, right? Ariane called him 'Judy' once? She was pretty sure. She'd never actually had a lengthy conversation with him before.

Or..any conversation, really.

"Hey...uh.." A small glance was given to the dummy before shaking her head. "Noooooot especially. Why, what's up?"

He simply waited for her to pay attention to him. Jude was a bit snarky at times but he wasn't impatient about getting the attention of others since he generally avoided it at all costs but today it wouldn't serve his purposes if he wanted to have a sparring partner. Jude offered a tentative smile over to her hoping that he looked friendly, instead he looked like he was a little in pain for a brief moment because of the awkward nature of the expression.

{Relax. She'sss not going to murder you.} Yom muttered encouragingly to him.

Jude huffed a little and then spoke again, "Would you like a sparring partner? Fighting a dummy is a bit lame."

Atropos remained summon as she waited for Jude to say something, looking slightly less homicidal compared to what she had been doing to the dummy but it was clear she was still rather on edge. Robert had really hit her pride hard. That a*****e. Was Jude okay? What was with the huff just then? It better not have been directed at her. She'd be pissed.

"Mm, yeah. That's true. Dummies don't fight back...sure. I'm curious to see how your weapon works." An hourglass weapon. She got glimpses of it during missions but usually when she was on a mission with Jude she never saw him use his weapon. It'd be interesting to see him use it.

Jude wasn't directing the huff at no one but himself. All is well.

The young man nodded a bit, "That they don't. They don't talk, or hug, or tell you stories," he shrugged a bit, "All in all dummies make very bad companions at pretty much everything."

Was he trying to be funny? Probably.

With that he started to move into a stance holding his weapon by the middle as he always did.

"Mm. I agree! They're really only good for one thing and even with that they don't seem to be exactly durable." She looked back at the dummy she had nearly destroyed in her rage and shrugged. They probably had more to replace it with. It was just a training dummy.

"Alright. You ready for this, then?" Candace was polite enough to wait for an answer before she went ahead and attacked. She started with a low hit instead of her typical 'strike the middle!' tactics, dropping down so she was squatting with her weight put into her hands and turning. Her leg swung around, bladed edge connecting with Jude's leg. She was learning. Incapacitate your opponent, situational awareness, don't turn your back and most importantly..

Don't ******** underestimate idiots. Not that she considered Jude an idiot but..she'd learned her lesson.

"I think they aren't really made to even be durable. They're just made," he smirked a little and shrugged.

He was ready then she hit him and it hurt quite a bit but not as bad as it could have all things considered. Jude hissed a little bit before he lunged forward in return swinging the Hourglass pointed end first toward Candace's left thigh. She kept her weapons on her legs so it was best to make them useless, right?

She had been getting up and moving back to wind up for another attach when he came at her and slammed the points of his hourglass into her thigh. ********! She winced and stumbled back, a hand pressed against that spot as she hissed with pain. It could have hurt a lot worse but goddamn! Her thigh?! That was just fighting dirty.

Of course Candace did that too but still! ********, dude!

"Careful not to actually cripple me, now." Candace warned, running up again and hopping on one leg so none of it was on her thigh when she kicked a leg out to strike at him with Atropos' blade. She then stumbled back and away, rubbing her thigh again.

Jude just smiled and it was almost disturbing as he smiled, "Oh I wouldn't cripple you. I'd just make it harder for you to use your weapon. That is the point, isn't it?"

There was no telling when the 'switch' happens in Jude's mind but sometimes with a few people he just became really and truly ruthless and determined to see them end their existence to some extent. He felt her hit him and stumbled back a bit and then moved toward her again he rose his weapon as if to hit her and didn't.

..He faked her out.

That smile... Candace. That's-- Yeah, I know. It's how I smiled when I had Circe. But she was pretty sure Jude had his own weapon. He had the hourglass, right? He didn't take someone's weapon. H had a whip and Caelius had a scythe, and the other division leaders weren't around for their weapons to be taken...so...what was with that smile? It made her uncomfortable.

"I suppose that's true...guess you won't mind if I do the same then, hm?" Only it would be his arms instead of his legs. Candace jumped back away from him as he came at her, growling as he successfully faked her out. That tricky little..!

She jumped straight up, lifting her leg to kick one of his arms. Just. Kick it. Maybe if she got lucky she could knock his weapon away.

Mostly she kicked him as he determinedly kept a hold of his precious Yom. Suddenly he just didn't want to let go of his weapon anymore. He tilted his head as he jolt occurred from her attempt to disarm him and he just let out a short laugh, "Cute, but yes. All is fair in war. We should fight each other like we want to see each other dead. After all that is how it is out there, right?"

Suddenly he swung his weapon but this time with intent and aiming for the side of her face with the triple pointed end.

Fight like she wanted to see him dead. Candace hesitated, ignoring the way Atropos was crooning in her head and how her cracks and gems were glowing at an almost blinding brightness. He wanted that kind of fight? But she'd promised...

But then he had to go and hit her in the face.

He wanted a fight? She'd give him that fight. Candace growled. Nobody hit her in the fact. Not even her mother. She spun on her heel, Atropos' glow flaring brightly as she hit him once. She spun again and hit him a second time. Her leg kicked back and she hit him with the talon on her heel and then whipped around to slice across his front again. She then kicked that leg forward to slam the bottom of her foot against his stomach. But she was quick to follow and hit him one more time with the blade before throwing herself backward as she had done with Bix, catching herself on her hands and using the momentum to lift her legs for an upward strike with each foot before she continued on to land upright on her feet facing him.

All in all, she'd hit him eight times. Her eyes narrowed. "No one hits my face. You want me to try and kill you, you've got it."

He wanted a fight. He totally wanted a fight. Jude took each hit stumbling back each time and uttering a quiet grunt. Jude would pay her back each hit and then some. She would feel each sting as he did and she'd like it. Oh she would like it a lot. When she seemed done with her attack he stood there panting and bent over a bit.

"Yes. Kill me. Hate me. Hate me like you hate them." He said simply as if satisfied by her words. There was either something wrong with him or he just really got off on the thrill of the fight. It slowly but surely becoming something he was enjoying.

Jude straightened up, "Time and time again you can strike me down..." he walked toward her and then used his Hourglass to shove rather harshly in the chest, "but just like you and anyone else I'll get back up. You do have that determination, don't you? You wouldn't let monsters s**t on your grave, would you?"
