There she was sat on a bench in the downtown area of the settlement wondering if Gavin would come or would she be shown up. She kept it simple, or somewhat. Her tresses framed her face and the lights gave her a gentle glow. Pulling her cloak closer around her, Katarina waited. She hope this wasn't in vain.
However she noticed a figured coming closer and grinned as she recognized the features. "Took you long enough." She teased.

Not that he assumed that he was meeting up with a date, but considering who his company would be for the majority of the night, Gavin actually bothered to break out some of his more presentable clothes. He didn't wear a tuxedo or anything ridiculous - not to mention pricey, since he didn't even own a proper tuxedo to begin with - but he wore a proper shirt, as in one with no holes, decent slacks, socks sans any holes, and his better pair of shoes. Hey, he wasn't among the rich and fortunate, but he could still look pretty.. okay. Shoot, he even bothered to comb out his usually unruly blonde locks, and he showered - twice.
Gavin smiled as he made his way down to the arranged meeting place, waving when she was finally in sight. At her words he laughed; shrugging, he replied, "Sorry 'bout that. Took me a while to find pants without any holes or stains on 'em."

Katarina smiled at him. He sure fixed up nicely. She hope she looked as presentable as he did. Of course it was somewhat ridiculous to be dressing up so nice for a night out at the bar, though she felt like she needed to for whatever reason there was out there. She was a woman after all. "I wouldn't have minded if you came with or without holes. We are going to a bar, not a play." She reminded him.
Though she felt bubbly and bold. There was the tavern in sight and she drew closer to Gavin for both the warmth he radiated but also protection. She didn't usually frequent places like this, heck she didn't go to these places period, but she had to admit she was a little frightened.

He shrugged. True enough, they were going to a bar. There were times he walked in where his shirt was basically just a rag with holes in it, but he was in much better company today. Gavin didn't voice his thoughts, but simply smiled and gestured to their left. "Yeah, well. Ah, the bar's this way." They started heading toward it and soon enough it was in sight; much to his surprise, she was a lot closer than he would have expected her to be. Glancing over, he could see a bit of nervousness in her expression. No surprise; not many women frequented this side of town. At least not past sunset.
The blonde stepped ahead and opened the door ahead of her, checking inside first to see who was around. No one worth nothing, he thought, so he turned his gaze back to Katarina and motioned for her to follow. "C'mon, there's nobody around yet."

He didn't seem to mind her being so close and Kat was glad for that. This was something new for her, going out with guys and going to a bar both. When she entered she could already smell the alcohol and wrinkled her nose without a thought. "I see plenty here already." She mentioned pointedly. There were several at the stools and some in the booths about. How there wasn't anyone around she couldn't understand. "Oh." Finally catching on, "No on you know."
How did social meetings in this sort of a setting go? "Can I get a drink maybe? I don't know what's strong and what isn't. Something weak if you don't mind."
