As far as Deryk was concerned, his mission in Amity was going really well! He had most of the things he needed to fetch. Right now, he just needed something called an ascended ghost dog. Ghost dog sounded simple enough, but he didn't really know much about this ascended business.
Tooley hummed. Deryk didn't know what she was talking about. As usual.
Though, right now, it sounded like these ascended pets were a pain to find. 'Sufficient praise?'
Did he need to find some dog and play with it to get it to ascend? He didn't know if he had enough time for that. Hopefully there was one already ascended somewhere around.

On the edge of school grounds Mitsu was wandering along the edge of the forest. There was a bag in her hand of food from the cafeteria and it looked like she was searching for something through the trees. She paused in her search when she saw a student not far off. Or who she assumed to be a student. The lycan had never seen this person before.
Curiously Mitsu made her way closer, clutching the bag tightly in both hands. It was a demon, that was easy enough to tell, though she wasn't sure what to make of him. Maybe he was new? "H..hello?" She called shyly, her ears folding back nervously.

As he was trying to figure out what to do for this final task, Deryk wandered around the campus, getting a better feel for it in general. He was also looking around at the various students milling about, who were all minding themselves. It looked like there was one blob student in the distance. That was a.. rather nasty looking fellow.
Closer, he spotted a girl with dog ears and a tail. If it weren't for the fact that those were probably real appendages, she might have looked like a girl going to an anime convention or something like that. Soon after he noticed her, she approached and greeted him.
"Oh! Hello," he greeted in return. It looked like she had some take out or something like that, but he didn't think much of it.
"Uh. Lovely day, yes?"

The friendly greeting in return made Mitsu's expression of worry soften, a slight smile touching her lips as she nodded. "Yeah it is. A-are you new? I don't think I've seen you before." She didn't know a lot of students but she had seen many in the halls going from class to class. Surely she would have noticed him? He...stood out. Not to mention he had an odd scent but Mitsu didn't think anything of it. It wasn't like she could place it.
The Chernobog didn't have too much time to answer as barking started up from the forest. Mitsu's ears perked as she looked back, the dark face of a shadowed skeletal dog peeking from the brush. "Ah, Meela!" As soon as the ascended ghost dog spotted Mitsu it came bounding out of the forest happily. It circled around the lycan, tail wagging furiously before it rolled on its back for belly scratches. "You're such a good girl, Meela!" Mitsu smiled down at the ghost dog, kneeling down to rub her tummy before turning back to ...."Oh...I didn't introduce myself. My name is Mitsu. This is Meela."

Hearing the barking, Deryk looked over to the side to see a dog like creature running on over.
"Yes. Just arrived the other day actually. Name is Derykion. Pleasure to meet you Mitsu. And Meela. Very nice dog you have here," he said, while thinking of how he might be able to get the dog away from the girl. At the same time, he was hoping Meela wouldn't attack him like a few other minipets had since his arrival to this strange land.

"Derykion," Mitsu repeated, putting away the name in her memory. She smiled patting Meela, "Oh, she's not mine, though I've thought about taking her back to my dorm." Opening up the bag at last Mitsu placed a sandwich on the ground. It looked to have a couple of bites out of it but the majority of it was still there. Meela immediately rolled back over and began to eat. "I just come out to play with her and feed her. She doesn't like my boafox very well though." Which had mainly been the reason she had left the ghost dog outside. Still though, she was able to visit with the dog and Meela stuck around because Mitsu fed her.
Standing to allow the dog to eat Mitsu smiled at Derykion. "So you arrived after the field trip then. Have you started any classes?" Surprisingly Mitsu was finding conversation to be easier and easier. Maybe she was getting to hang of this socializing thing after all.

Aha! The dog was a stray then. This made things easier for him. Rather than trying to steal the pet, he could just try to convince this girl to let him take it instead.
"Oooh.. a stray. How sad," he frowned while trying to think about how he should go about this, "There was a field trip that I missed? Damn. Oh well. There will be others most likely, but no. Hadn't had any classes just yet. Still sort of settling in I guess you could say?"
He hoped that made sense. Quite frankly, Deryk had little idea of how this school ran.
"Hm... Maybe I can take Meela home? Could use a pet. Help keep company. Good dog like that shouldn't stay homeless, yes?"

Mitsu's brows furrowed a little when Derykion seemed upset he had missed the field trip. True it was a way to learn Mitsu supposed but...she wouldn't have minded missing out as well. Still, she could remember coming to the school a little excited about the field trips too, blindly unaware of what went on. "T..The field trips are a little....rough I guess but you can learn a lot." She would leave it at that for now. He would figure it out right? As he said he was just settling in so he hadn't gotten into the swing of the gossip and stories that would no doubt flood him by the end of the week.
"T..take Meela home?" Mitsu looked down at the ghost dog, kneeling to pat her while she still ate. The idea of her being gone saddened the lycan but the demon had a point. She was a very good dog and deserved to have a home. "W..will you bring her to visit?" Mitsu asked. "So I can see her from time to time?" Her large crimson eyes were full of worry and doubt, making her look almost pitiful.

"A little rough? What do they make you answer out those stupid worksheets while you're there? Those are so boring," Deryk frowned. He was a little off on his idea of the field trips here, but he didn't really have a point of reference. Right now, it just sounded like they had to do a lot of boring schoolwork while on the fieldtrips.
Well, at least he didn't have to really worry about such things. It just sucked for the real students here.
"Oh! Uh. Sure. Er.. Where do you live? I mean. Yes. The Monster dorm. But what room?"
It kinda made him feel a little bad, that big eyed look she was giving him. She would probably never see this dog again. But, he had a mission to fulfill. The girl would get over it eventually.

"W....worksheets?" Mitsu tilted her head having no idea what the Chernobog was talking about. They had done no worksheets....where had he gotten that idea. "D...did your last school do worksheets....for field trips?" That sounded boring but...possibly better then the attempted drownings and fighting, and being whipped and cut by broken glass.
"I-if you go on the next field trip be careful okay? It can be kinda dangerous." Then Mitsu thought of something, her eyes lighting up as she continued to pat Meela. "Oh, hey maybe you can join our group! We can look out for one another that way." It seemed like a good idea at least to her. She wasn't sure if he had any other friends yet but at least the invitation was there.
As far as her room, Mitsu tapped her chin. "I..It's not that easy to find. The monster dorms are kind of a maze." Poor Mot had gotten lost she had come to find out and she had trouble when she first arrived. Though Mitsu had trouble no matter the situation with directions. They were sworn enemies. "Oh, I know! I can give you my phone number and you can call when you want to bring her over and we can meet up!" Her tail began to wag happily at this idea. Yes, Meela would have an actual home and she would still get to see her.
Shuffling her bag off her shoulders Mitsu searched for a piece of paper and a pen. While she did that Meela turned up from her finished meal, her head tilting this way and that curiously taking in Derykion. Slowly the ghost dog edged forward, head lowered to sniff at the Chernobog. It didn't seem like the dog knew what to make of him.

"Er yeah. Had to do them sometimes. Depended on which teachers were in charge of the trip," Deryk said, hoping that some schools in Halloween were the same in that regard. However, it seemed that Mitsu bought his answer well enough. The bit about field trips being dangerous was a bit intriguing.
"Oh! That could be nice. Will keep that in mind if I go to these field trips," he nodded.
No, he doubted that they'd have missions sending them onto these field trips. Though, now he had to wonder if he'd end up with the same body next time he came here.
"Phone number? Yes. That could be useful. May need to contact you sometime," he said. It actually could be useful. He wasn't sure what he'd need to call her for, but perhaps he'd need something for a different mission. Looking down at the dog that came to sniff him, he paused, not sure if it would try to attack him. Right now, it didn't seem to be the case. To try and avoid hostile actions, he crouched down and started to lightly pat it to try and get into its good side.
It'd make taking it easier.

Writing down her info once she found a piece of paper, Mitsu handed it to the Chernobog. "There, maybe we can hang out with some of my friends. I know they would be happy to meet you." She smiled a bit more before turning to Meela, hands patting the side of the dog's neck. It seemed she was at least interested in Derykion.
"She's a little shy at first but she'll come around."
And come around she did. As soon as the Chernobog knelt enough to pat her Meela moved close, maybe even too close as she started shoving her nose against the golem to give it a good sniff. She was a little invasive and did not know the meaning of personal boundaries as she quite clearly jabbed her nose where it did not belong.

"That sounds pretty nice," Deryk said, keeping up with the act for now. It was a little sad. She'd never see him again most likely. Well, he supposed there was the chance for it, but had his doubts. It was a big school and all.
"Ah!"
The startled noise came from the fact that the dog had shoved her nose right to his crotch.
Some things never changed it seemed, regardless which world dogs come from.
"I.. I see. "

"Ah, Meela!" Mitsu tried to call the dog back but she was far to curious about Derykion at the moment. Finally Mitsu turned back to her bag and dug around for a moment before she produced what looked like an orange and black tennis ball. Squeezing it lightly the toy gave a squeak and immediately she had the dog's attention. The ghost dog turned, ears perked, attention fully on the ball as its tail began to wag.
"Sit Meela," Mitsu said and on command the dog sat. "You're such a good girl, Meela." She praised before tossing the ball, the ghost dog almost drifting off to chase it down. "She really likes to play ball...and she really likes ham sandwiches...though that's my fault." Mitsu smiled nervous. "Be sure to take good care of her okay?"

Thankfully, the dog was called off. It was never really comfortable to have a snout up there. Shaking his head, he looked at Mitsu with a bit of appreciation, while listening to what she had to say about the dog. Well, he supposed it could be good to know.
"Will be sure to keep this in mind. Thank you. Will take good care of her," he smiled.
Though, Deryk didn't know what was going to happen with the things he gathered at all. Perhaps he'd find out if he asked.
