The sun was about to set. As the forest began to becom eerie and cold, the moon barely poked its head out from the sky. The dirt was begining to look as black as the infinite space. The lonely stars sparkled through the darkness, attempting to free themselves from their darkness. Eventually, the sky was darkened to a navy blue. All that was left was the stars and the darkness that eveloped them.

A girl with blue hair and blue eyes to match them walked silently through the woods. She must have known not to enter alone, but she was alone. She must have felt as lonely as the stars, or perhaps she was a star that wanted to be enveloped.

The girl tied her scarf tighter around her. Even her clothing, which was winter apparel, wasn't enough to keep the bitter cold out. She continued down the path, walking slower and slower as the darkness grew darker and darker. Did she really not know any better?

Kaiko continued to proceed. It seemed this was was enough time to think about all the things on her mind. Of course, she really wished ice cream was one thing to think of. However, the sweet treat had seemed to fade temporarily, until she figured out the rest inside her mind. She sighed softly, watching as her breath appeared within the dim lighting.

She shivered invouluntarily, amazed at the sudden temperature drop. She guessed that's what she got for going into the forest in November at night. She moved her scarf to her mouth, to keep her lips from turning blue. Kaiko moved her hands to her sides, shivering intensely.

Things seemed to become foreign to her now. As her friends got closer, she felt closer to them. Although, things seemed to cause her a bit of worry. Her friends seemed to have crushes on the same man. What kind of trouble would that cause in the end?

Kaiko closed her eyes, quietly trying to figure out her answers. She stopped in the heart of the forest. She noticed Lake Cannon. The moon shimmered inside the calm, peaceful waters. Kaiko knew the water would be a pool of ice soon, and they would probably be able to scate across it.

She loved that thought a lot. Perhaps, her brother and her could eat ice cream together while skating. Or maybe forcing Nigaito to skate despite his constant cold through the season. Or maybe getting Akaito to freeze to death and then watch him devour a million peppers.

Kaiko smiled gently at the thought. It seemed like a fantasy. Another question suddenly popped up.

"Am I living in a dream?" Kaiko questioned, and coughed. Was her entire life just a dream? Did she exist in this small world of infinite space?

She couldn't help, but stare at the glowing moon's reflection in the ice water. Her eyes were downcast, as if she was sad that she had said such a thing out loud. Kaiko sat down on the cold earth. She brushed the damp grass with her fingers. She timidly picked a few of the strands of grass, often throwing them in a pile behind her. Her eyes were fixed on the lake.

Then she looked up to the moon.

"How come you can't look at the sun, but you can at the moon?" She asked to no one. She knew no one was around. If they were, she didn't notice.

User ImageNeru sat on a broken tree in the wood. For once, her phone wasn't ringing. Her head rested in her hands, she was thinking. She always tried to be harsh to people, but what for? She'd like to have friends aside from her phone pals. But that wasn't possible, it wasn't what suited Neru. She glanced up at the dark sky. It was cold, but it didn't matter. She could see her own breath, but it didn't matter.

Neru slowly stood up. As she did, she felt her phone vibrating. She opened it, wondering who it was. 'Neru! U there? Had an awsum day 2day, how bout u?' It said. She sighed softly and pressed reply. 'Same as always. Ya could tell me about what ya did today though.' She pressed the send button and looked around.

She was a fanmade vocaloid, created because of the lack of Miku. Was she really wanted? She was just a substitute. At that moment she heard a voice. Something about the moon and the sun. Neru looked up at the moon and tilted her head. "Because the sun is a star, right? The moon is only bright because it cought light of the sun. The moon needs help to shine, it won't be able to shine on it's own." She said, not even knowing who she was talking to. Neru turned around and after taking a few steps to the right she saw Kaiko standing there. "Ah Kaiko." She said, her voice a tad lower. "What are ya doing here?" Stupid question, she could ask the same. "Well.. I.. Ya didn't hear nothing, okay?" She said softly, referring to the moon stuff. It didn't fit her image.

Kaiko turned around, hearing an answer to her question. The very answer she couldn't find.
"Neru-San," Kaiko whispered, looking at the texting girl. Kaiko smiled sweetly at the girl. Seemed she was pondering too.
"I wonder, if the moon needs help to shine, just who is the sun? Are we all like a moon with a shining star above us? Would we be dull without that light?" Kaiko questioned, understanding Neru's statement. It seemed, the more answers ment more questions arising.

Kaiko looked down to her black shoes. The moon reflected brightly on the two. "Perhaps, if we didn't have our sun, we wouldn't be here? Or seen beyond what was a rock?" Kaiko questioned.

She smiled gracefully at Neru. Sure, her previous conception on Neru was a texting, careless girl who did what she wanted. Kaiko didn't notice that the girl had her way with words. Analagies that Kaiko thought of longer.

"You did say it, but I won't say anything to anyone," Kaiko said, giving the girl a thumbs up.
"Neru-San, there's more to you than I originally thought," Kaiko continued.
"You're really a deep person, down to this world and everything," Kaiko smiled gently, walking to the girl.

It may have been bitterly cold that night. Although, there was probably something that protected Kaiko from the freezing cold. Her light that shone on her. Perhaps, that's why there is the original and the secondary.
"Maybe the moon aspires to be like the sun. Perhaps the sun feels the moon's dream and helps it shine, but not as bright. If the moon were to outshine the sun, there would be no idol, and everyone would forget th sun that shone so brightly."
PostPosted: Fri Dec 02, 2011 10:58 pm

Neru glanced at Kaiko. Her phone was vibrating. She placed her hand on her phone before speaking up. "There's not one single sun, everyone sees a different one, right? And without that sun, that person would be lost in the dark."

Neru slowly sat down and held her knees with her hands. "The brightness of the moon depends on the sun. The light of the sun will make you smile when you feel lonely, the water affected by the sun will wash away your sorrow. But.." She glanced up at Kaiko, still feeling a bit dumb that she was talking about this. "But what if you don't know where to find your sun? If it's not clearly seen like the stars in the sky? Or, when that sun doesn't know you're taking advantage of it's light?"

Neru sighed softly as she took out her phone. She was somewhat happy that Kaiko wouldn't tell this to anyone. She opened her text message. "Wow Neru, always I text you, you always respond right away. Do you even have a life? Well it's cool. So what are you doing?" She read out loud before pressing the respond button and typing a message back. 'Duh, everyone's alive, ya know. Currently talkin' bout the moon, it's just pretty don'tcha think?' She wrote back and pressed send. "If someone get's caught by the wind which makes you repeat your way, it's hard to get out." She said, referring to her own life. Even though she'd like, she'd never tell people she'd actually like to have real friends, aside from her chat buddies. And Len wouldn't realize either, what he meant to her. But of course that was logical, with the way she acted sometimes. "The sun is more than an idol, it's a source of light." She drew a circle in the sand. "Without even the smallest star, a person alone wouldn't be able to go on. Stars can be lonely." Neru stood up again, frowning at Kaiko. "Ya'll never tell anyone 'bout this, will ya? I bet it'd cause me some troubles." She crossed her arms with a stubborn look on her face.

Kaiko laughed and glanced at Neru.
"Of course, I won't tell anyone, I mean this would be embarrassing!" Kaiko said, watching as Neru had texted.
"I guess what you said is true, stars can be lonely. The water does kind of wash the sorrow away, and the wind does repeat, I guess. You can get stuck without your light too," Kaiko said, looking at what Neru drew in the sand.

Neru looked at Kaiko and was silent for a second. "You're right." She then said. "Life is complicated." She looked up at the sky. "You're so lucky, Kaiko." She said slowly. "Even though you're fanmae, like me, you're so popular and liked by everyone. I'm Miku's substitute. Not that I care much, I mean, I do exist." Neru shrugged. "I started off with a certain impression, and I can't get rid of it. I won't either, it's complicated, ya know?" She tapped her forehead, realizing she said both 'you' and 'ya'. "It's not like I really need anyone anyway." Neru sat down on the ground again. "Bah, why am I even telling this, it's not like it's of any importance to ya." She slowly stood up again. "I think I'm going to my dorm soon again. It's not like I'd bother anyone by coming back, I have a dorm alone so far."

Neru looked at Kaiko once again. "But I guess I'll just let the wind carry me somewhere, eh?" Somewhere, she was envious. Kaiko was such a sweet girl, she seemed to get along with just everyone. Neru's phone vibrated again and she took it out of her pocket. 'The moon is lame, the only good thing is that it makes you able to go out at night.' It read. 'Almost, but not quite.' she wrote back.

"Hey, don't be so down. I know you may not have a roomate yet, but there was a long while before I got one. We're just short on people at the moment!" Kaiko said, trying to ease the dense and somber atmosphere.
"I may be fanmade, but my sun would be Kaito! Without him, I wouldn't exist, really. You, you may be Miku's substitute, but you are a person. Neru-San, you're a wonderful vocaloid!" Kaiko tried to assure the girl.
"If you need anyone to talk to, count on me!" Kaiko said, smiling brightly. She might have just made a neat friend. There were people Kaiko was afraid of at the academy, one being Akaito, but there were people she didn't even know.

Neru looked up at Kaiko and gave her a small smile. "Ya.. I guess you're right." She looked up at the sky. "My sun eh?" A picture of Len shot trough her head. "..I think I have one too. But he doesn't notice it, I think. I wonder if he even knows I exist." She glanced at Kaiko. "Maybe I should text him, I got his number recently." She took out her phone and flipped it open. 'I don't think I have the courage to do this..' She thought to herself while selecting Len's number. She looked up at Kaiko, but didn't do anything. "Thanks, Kaiko.." She said softly, not believing she'd ever say thanks to anyone. Was it possible she just made a friend? Would anyone actually like her? Or was Kaiko looking right trough her? Neru was lonely at times, sure. But others weren't supposed to know that. "I'm.. glad I bumped into ya today." She added, looking back at the screen. 'Hey' Was all she managed to type. "..I don't know what to say to him." Neru said softly.

((Sorry for my long absence.. I had some.. troubles.))

Kaiko smiled and then pondered what Neru meant.
"Is she thinking relationship wise?" She thought, but as Neru thanked her she brushed the thought off.
"I'm sure he knows! Your lov- er, sun could love you right back if you just get the guts to tell him! Men are cowards now. Its up to the woman to pull the strings!" Kaiko said, tying to help her friend out.
"Ah! I should thank you! If it wasn't for this talk, I might have gotten an answer!" Kaiko said brashly. She could relate to Neru at times. There were times when she felt lonely. It was truly hard for Kaiko to feel accepted when she wasn't the "first" in a room. She had to take her chances at being accepted, at finding friends. Of course, she just felt left out sometimes, but she always managed to put herself back in, even when she wasn't seen.
"I'm glad I bumped into you! Its a mighty big world here, and finding someone like you is hard!"

Neru glanced at Kaiko as she listened to what she had to say. She was about to scream at her for almost calling Len her lover or loved one or whatever she was going to say, but she managed to keep her cool. It was no use to get angry about something like that. Neru glanced at her cellphone screen and finished the text with an invitation to visit her at her dorm. "Let's hope so.." She whispered whil pressing the send button with her eyes closed. When she opened her eyes again, she let out a sigh, feeling the nerves build up in her body.

Neru looked back at Kaiko as she thanked her. "Ah no problem I just.. Spoke my mind I guess." She said. Maybe she just made her very first real life friend.. "I'm happy I bumped into you too." She said with a small smile. yes, now it was just waiting for the wind to change into the right direction. "You think.. Len.." She couldn't finish her sentence, it was too hard for her to speak up.

Kaiko gave a reassuring smile to her friend. Seeing as she had mentioned Len.
"Ah! So I was right?" Kaiko questioned, understanding where Neru was coming from.
"Well, if you like Len, then try to get closer to him. If you're too shy, be bolder and tell him how you feel," She had said that completely wrong, but she hoped Neru would understand.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 06, 2012 2:22 pm

Neru looked down at her feet. "I guess so. I don't know if it's shyness though.." She said as she looked up at Kaiko again. "Well maybe too, but I'm also afraid because I always acted so indifferent, ya'know?" Neru kicked a branch away before putting away her cellphone and crossing her arms. "Still, I do want to get closer to him.." She bit her lip softly. "I'll just try it, be nicer to him then.." She smiled lightly. "Thanks again, Kaiko, you're really helping me out here." Neru was getting happier about the fact she met Kaiko like that, maybe saying what you think had it's good things at times.

Kaiko gave a true smile to Neru once again.
"I hope everything does work out for you and Len," Kaiko said, hoping dearly for her new friend. Neru wasn't so bad once you got a little deep with her. She was a vocaloid who needed some attention. That vocaloid could grow into something much more than just a forgotten singer in the past. She looked up at the moon.
"Now I think I have a more bold answer. I don't think either of us are moons that need a star to shine on us. I think we are the other stars that a light the moon itself," Kaiko said, feeling extremely peculiar for some reason. She was happy for Neru. Neru deserved to have a good boyfriend, or even somewhere close to one.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 06, 2012 3:20 pm

Neru smiled. It was a true smile, and she didn't care anymore, was Kaiko a friend? Then she could smile, right? "Thanks, Kaiko." She smiled. It wasn't that bad to talk with someone, actually, it felt rather relieving. She looked up at the moon as Kaiko gave her new answer. "I think you're right, Kaiko. We might need people, but to make people care about you, you have to start shining yourself." She smiled, and suddenly felt a buzz. She grabbed her cellphone and opened it. It was Len. "Oh! He said he'd like to meet me once, he's coming to my dorm tomorrow." She smiled. "Oh, now I'm nervous, what do I do.."
