Tori had to wonder just to who put up all these Christmas decorations and didn't think that she would have seen them all here of all places, but then she truly didn't fully know all about this place. She was enjoying all the smells and the decorations but she still didn't like holiday all that much as it just brought back bad memories of how her parents would show her off to there 'friends' like she was there toy and she just hated it but at the same time like it as her parents were paying somewhat attention to her. There had been times when she had been younger that this holiday never came and she couldn't help but feel grumpy as she flopped around on her bed.
Huffing a little more as she did have to agree with what Aklin had said. Well I guess that you are right but I really don't know what to do.
Tori sighed as that was a valid point and reading about the holiday wouldn't be the same if she asked someone about it. Getting out of her bed as she caved into what Aklin wanted her to do and he just smirked at her.
Closing the door to her room as she was still in a sour mood about how she felt. Once the door was locked and she pocked the key did she start walking down the hall to head outside to see if the fresh air would help clear her head some as she didn't even know who to ask about how they celebrated Christmas.
"I can't believe it! WHY that question, why! You told me to ask someone about it and now you ask me almost the same question and you know how I feel about it all!" Tori had said aloud in a grumpy mannor for all to hear instead of mentally saying all of that in her head.

Apparently it was nearing Christmas, judging by the Christmas decorations that had been put up apparently overnight - a fact Gale had actually forgotten, considering that he had completely lost track of the days the longer he spent at Deus Ex Machina. He supposed he probably could have nicked a calendar from somewhere, but to be honest, he just couldn't be bothered. There was no need now, was there?
Especially since with December also brought around something else - Gale's sixteenth birthday.
He had no idea if the sixth had already passed or not, but regardless he had started to assume that it had, and he was, in fact, sixteen. Even if he wasn't, he certainly felt different. Perhaps not taller, perhaps not wiser, but stronger and more capable, certainly. Being burned alive, the dual Sahara missions, the awakening of more trainees, his promotion...everything had seemed to all tumble together, making everything seem almost surreal.
But he was here. He was here at Deus Ex, and it was, in fact, very real.
And Christmas. Or, nearing Christmas.
Out on the grounds, the air was brisk, Gale's breath visible as he made his way back to the dormitory building after having spent the past few hours training again. He rather hoped to stop at the cafeteria as well and see if he could find some decent hot cocoa, but -
"I can't believe it! WHY that question, why! You told me to ask someone about it and now you ask me almost the same question and you know how I feel about it all!"
The voice came out of nowhere, startling Gale out of his inner musings, and he turned to stare blankly at the person in question, blinking in bemusement.
"Er," he said, to the unfamiliar girl. "Are you all right?"

Tori stopped in mid-thoughts at how grumpy she was at her weapon for asking that question when she heard another person ask her a question and she looked to where the voice had come from and was so a deer in the headlights look at the unfamiliar guy that had asked the question as she didn't know what to say right that second. The weapon snickered so close to laughter at how she spoke aloud for all to hear. Coming back to her senses she started to blush a little at how embarrassed she was feeling and how much of a fool she had been as well as a bad impression of herself to the other. "Ummmm..." she stammered as she was trying to find her words. "Umm, I'm alright," she said finally finding her words as Aklin continued to snicker at her. "I was talking with my weapon and total so not use to not to say things out loud," she added in a sheepish voice. "Also I'm sorry about it all. I didn't mean to bother you or anything it just happened and all," she added so very nervous and to the point of rambling random information. "Also I'm Victoria Straka but I prefer to go by Tori," She said as she didn't want to be more rude than she already was being. Still so very amused over it all.
I will so get you for this all, Aklin.

Gale peered at the new girl with a vaguely curious expression, though it might have just been bemusement; considering he didn't usually give off what he was thinking, it wasn't really easy to tell, at least not if the person did not know him that well. As it was he merely gave her a scrutinizing look, as though trying to place her.
<< I believe she's one of Bix's hatchlings. >> said Jinhai lightly. << She seems new. >>
"Ah," said Gale, nodding at the girl's explanation. "I see. It wasn't bothering me; I'm just a bit knackered from training, so I'm afraid I'm a bit out of sorts at the moment. You just startled me, really."
As did the abrupt introduction, which took him slightly aback, but he was not going to be rude about it. After all, she seemed a little nervous, for some reason, her cheeks dusted pink.
"Er, nice to meet you," Gale murmured quietly, and held out his hand. "My name is Gale Gentry. Have you been here long, then? At Deus Ex, I mean."

Still clearly nervous as looked her over as her as she shifted a little as she tried not to over think things but it was getting harder and she didn't know how he would take her spouting random information and Aklin still lightly laughing at her. "Well I'm still sorry. I know how that one feels when I have gone and trained myself and that is something that I didn't mean as well." she replied as she started to get a little less nervous as he did look like to be a nice person and Aklin was forever trying to get her to make more friends as well. "It's nice to meet you as well," she replied a little sheepishly as he also held out her hand, took his and gave it a shake as she also gave him a little smile too. "Ummm, not really that long at all. I just woke up and still trying to get use to everything thing around here even if I do get lost every now and then,"

"Er," said Gale, a little awkwardly. "Yes. Right."
Victoria looked very nervous, for some odd reason, shifting from one foot to the other and then bouncing up and down on her heels. Slightly bemused, Gale folded his hands behind his back, tilting his head to slant a look up at her.
"So you are one of the hatchlings, then," he said, with a nod. "I've been here almost a year now, I think - or maybe it's just been a few days. Haven't really gotten used to keeping track of the days on my own, though it's clearly - " He gestured around them at the various Christmas decorations. " - sometime near Christmas."
Pushing his bangs away from his face (really, they were getting too long), Gale pushed his hands into his pockets and rocked back on his feet.
"How do you like it so far?" he asked Tori. "Finding everything okay?"

In her mind she was trying to get a control over her nervousness as she listened to what Gale was saying and was impressed that he had been awake for that long and possessed more knowledge that she did in the Hunter ways as she was very impressed. "I am and that impressive as you must have learned a lot of things in that amount of time. Maybe one day I will learn more than I know now," she replied as she began to lose some of her nervousness as she just love learning all type of things. "I actually like it a lot so far even getting yelled at and my weapon asking lots of questions. Its a lot better than being truly alone," she replied as she shuddered at the thought of her old life. "Yep, I'm slowly learning my way around and not to get lost so often," she replied with a little smile. Tori sighed a little as she did have to agree with Aklin as she was a little curious to know. "How do you celebrate christmas, Gale?" she asked curious to know what he would say. "As I never really had a christmas myself and all that I know that its just one big party," she quickly added sheepishly.

Gale gave a small snort of laughter.
"I'm not that knowledgeable," he said, shaking his head as he leaned against the wall of the building they were standing beside. Tori looked a few years older than he was, her long hair almost touching the ground.
"And yes, Jinhai - that's this guy - " Gale lifted his left hand, showing the ring on his index finger, over his glove. " - yells at me quite a bit."

<< That is so wildly untrue. >>
Her question caught him off guard, Gale's brows rising in surprise.
"Er..." he said, and shook his head. "I'm not...entirely certain that I'm the best person to ask that. I haven't celebrated a Christmas since I was a kid. For the past several years I've been spending it on my own."

Tori gave a little sheepish smile as she heard Gale laugh a little as to her it was the truth and knowledge is a serious matter to her no mater what the form of it was. 'Well still around her in what we do you have more knowledge that I do and your coat tells me that as well," she replied as respected him much more even if he was younger that she. "But I still respect you, even if you think your not that knowledgeable," Tori said as she gave him a little smile. Watching as Gale showed her Jinhai to her and found that he did look interesting as she had yet to see any ones weapon besides her own in unsummoned form. "Here I was thinking that only Aklin, this is him," she said as she lifted up her scarf to show around her neck a silver torc that had a horse head and a finny tail as the caps of the torc. "Did that, but then I haven't asked how the others get along with there partner. Even with all the yelling and all of that I wouldn't have it any other way," "Oh, well I be sorry, I'm just curious is all as I don't think that I have never had Christmas or at least remember, just the parties. I have gone to more that I can remember or count," she answered. "When spending it on your own did you do anything special and you don't have to answer if you don't want to," Tori asked as she was curious as anything would be new to her.

His face coloured lightly in spite of himself.
"Er," said Gale, a little uncomfortable with all of the praise. "Thank you," he said quietly, pushing aside his bangs. "I'm, er...well, I appreciate the compliments."
His eyes followed the line of Tori's hand as she lifted the scarf to reveal the torc around her neck. He'd never seen anything like it before, but it was rather interesting looking.
"Jinhai just likes to nitpick," said Gale breezily. "And Bix has told me that his likes to flirt with him."
He shrugged his shoulders, eyes flickering away from Tori just a second before going back to her. "Not really," he admitted, shaking his head. "I'm not exactly a party person, if you know what I mean. Anytime it was the holidays, I just sat and did my own thing, opened a present or two, treated myself to a glass of champagne, the end."

Tori just smiled and she was glad that he liked the compliments as they were all true and she of him as a friend too. “Your welcome and I’m glad too,” she replied as she still smiled and also relaxing more too. Giving the torc a few strokes before she put her scarf back over her partner and all the while he murred in delight. Tori listened to Gale talk a little about his partner and about Bix’s partner too. “Well Aklin loves to ask any and all questions all the time if he could,” “That sounds a lot more fun than what I was forced into doing. As I really don’t like parties that much,” Tori replied as she looked to the ground for a second as she thought on how she had just been a toy for her parents to play with, before looking back to Gale. “There had been lots of times I just wanted to do my own thing, but always forced into what my parents wanted,”
