Jarkevaa walked slowly through the temple, a large grin across his face. This place was so fascinating to him, and so many more mysteries it held from the old lion. He was determined to learn them all before he got too old to move. The years of travelling had helped keep him in shape, and he wondered now that if settling down would let it all catch back up. Reading in to the history of this place, and sharing his own stories with anyone so kind as to listen was certainly not going to keep him in shape, but the thought of getting up to simply work out did not appeal as much to him. If he would moving to find something, or go somewhere it was not as bad, for there was something for him to gain at the end, but exercises held no mysteries at it’s completion and thus also held no interest to the old black and white lion.

The thoughts were quickly pushed aside. Not really something he wanted to bother his mind with right now, nor really at any point. His interests were resting mostly on learning what he could and seeing that Kujali was happy in this place. Up ahead he spotted the very lioness that had just popped in to his thoughts. “Why hello there. Have you been enjoying your evening so far?”

The old male came to stand before her, stretching out his legs and back before sitting down. “Well I am certainly glad to hear that you are doing well. keeping oneself busy is much more enjoyable than sitting idly around, if you ask me.” A small smile spread over his maw. “And your learning is also going well then?”

Jark nodded at her question, taking a moment before replying. “I am very much enjoying myself. So much to learn here. Though I certainly do enjoy these breaks away from it all as well. Didn’t think I could get so tired doing almost nothing. Sometimes I envy the young and their seemingly endless energy. Just seeing all these cubs bouncing around can tire me out.”

“I have not before had the pleasure of finding a lady I would wish to have children with, so no, I have none.” Jarkevaa chuckled softly. “I do believe I met her once, when she was quite young, during one of my visits back home. She was a little one then. I’ never got the chance to see her all grown up though, I’m sure she grew to be a fine lioness under your care.”

Jarkevaa looked up thoughtfully, ears twitching. “A shame indeed. I’m sure she has a nice life wherever she is out there though. Perhaps one day word of her well being will come this way.”

Jarkevaa blinked in surprise. He had not expected the question. It was not as if he had not thought about it himself though. Jark had known her for a long time, but she had, at the time, already had a mate. As such any feelings he had had before were silent ones, ones he dared not share. During his travels he had never fallen for another lady as he had Kujali, even if she may not have known it. “Kujali, you’re more lovely a lioness than any other I have ever met. I’d be a fool to leave you for another.” Jark stood and leaned forward, rubbing his cheek against Kujali’s. “If their customs here are to be married first then I’d be a lucky lion to have you, and would be just as happy, no, more so to have a family with you.”

“I am glad. I have always thought you to be more lovely than any other, and that you would even want to spend the rest of this time with me makes me happy. I’m sure we will grow in to old gray-furs with great great grandchildren. I only hope that we’ll be able to keep up with all the little ones by then.” He winked cheerily at her, grinning softly. “Plus, they can all grow up hearings stories of my grand adventures!"
