Spoof's Teepee ||| Flann's Teepee

User ImageTruly, he loved flying. It was only in the air that he could escape from everything in that held him down in life. Up here, nothing mattered but the power in his wings and the wind in his hair. No dirt to sully him, no debris to pull painfully at his hair that he couldn't bare to cut, no disappointed fathers, no needy mares, just; freedom.

Of course, what comes up must go down as they say, and he could not remain up in the air forever. Eventually, his wings would grow tired and he would have to land, or crash. Once, and only once he had chosen to crash. It had been the most unpleasant experience of his life and his sister teased him for weeks. She still occasionally made a jab at him over it, when she was feeling particularly annoying on a given day.

He could think in the air. Without clouds of suffocating anger, he could look back on the fight with his father and feel regret. Truly the older man had only been trying to save him from himself. Still, he wouldn't go back. He had too much pride, he knew. It would be a long time before he stepped foot within his father's territory, he needed to sort out his life first. Adrian had a long string of mares behind him, and until the other day he'd seen nothing wrong with that. Now, he wasn't so sure. Ignis was right in that he couldn't keep playing it fast and loose with the ladies, sooner or later his luck would run out and he would have to face...fatherhood. The thought left a bad taste in his mouth, he was not father material. Ignis had been a great father to him and his sister, but Adrian didn't want to be tied down. He loved that he could essentially do whatever, whenever. If he fancied a trip to the other side of the continent, he could up and leave at his leisure.

Children, he knew, changed things. Look at Ignis, before Sophia and himself had been dropped on the big angeni's doorstep, he'd been a solitary individual. An occasional mare would catch his eye but he never settled. He had his eyrie, but didn't spend a lot of time there. Now if Adrian were in a mind to apologize, he knew Ignis would be right where he'd left him, in the mountains, by himself.

His muscles burned, he realized, How long had he spent musing to himself, coasting along the currents? All day, since the early morning and the sun was far to the west now. With a twitch of a wing he was angling towards the ground, circling a few times before landing on a slab of rock jutting out of the earth. His hair settled around him like silk as he tucked his wings away against his body. The knife he carried with him everywhere bumped into his hip in its sheath, and he wondered when the last time he had fed had been. As if summoned, his mouth watered and he wondered if he could find a willing young female to be the donor for him...the blood of the infatuated was always sweetest.

Luthias had been cleaning and dusting his trophy collection for most the day, staying near the entrance of his cave. The dust hung in the air of the cave, he found himself coiffing and breathing in the thick dust and dirt. Hanging by the entrance he at least could breath. Looking into his home he was pleased with his work. His mountains of gold and silver were clean and polished, shinning and pleasing his eyes. His base cave was so full he could hardly reach the back of it, he was sure he stashed treasures back there but he could no longer reach them. Luthias tried to remember how long it had taken him to collect so much bounty, but he could not recall how it started, he had been collecting so long the years looked like shining misty images in his memory.

He was pulled from his daydream when he spotted a fast moving shadow on the landscape, he peered from his cave, lifting his head cautiously. A brightly colored angeni flew overhead, tailed by several feet of long blaze orange hair. It was carrying something, several things, things that glistened and shined. Luthias felt himself once again become lost in the reflective objects, hypnotized, and entranced. He became like predator and once he spotted his prey he had to have it, and dreaded loosing sight of it even for a moment.

Luthias leaped out immediately and began to stalk the sparkling items, staying hidden in the cliffs and trees, readying himself to pounce. As he crept closer, he had a sense, a sense of danger, of another predator. He examined his target more closely, he picked up a faint smell of blood, old blood, and realized the stallion had a large knife tied to his leg. His eyes caught a glint of the blade, blue steel, excitement built up within Luthias until he felt he was about to burst. He didn't have an item remotely like it, and convinced himself it was his. Luthias leaped from the high branch of a tree and swooped in for the knife catching it with his talon, but he did not grip it soon enough and it slipped from his ebony claws, casting it only a few feet from Adrian. He landed a few yards away on low cliff, he watched the stallions movements, and readied for another dive.

Adrian was taken completely by surprise when a huge scaly creature leaped at him from above. Tensed and ready to fight back, he was surprised when there was no impact. Instead, his knife was violently yanked from its place at his hip and thrown clumsily across the ground. It skittered and sparked angrily before coming to a stop with a final clatter. The knife had been a gift from Ignis, and Adrian was not pleased to see it abused so. He could only watch as the gray creature alighted on a small cliff not too far away and watched him with its yellow eyes.

Stalking over to his knife, he picked it up with his teeth, securing it to his front with one of his numerous ribbons. His eyes never left the creature who was watching him without seeming to blink. The knife that it had tried to steal would more than likely play a part in fending it off, an analytical part of his mind whispered to him.

"What, exactly, did you think you were doing just then?" he bit out angrily. Watching it for signs that it would try to attack him again and perfectly ready to defend himself. Perhaps he would have blood yet today...this creature certainly wasn't a fair maiden (if it was female, he couldn't tell) but he was always up for trying new flavors...

Luthias recklessly dove in again, yes fixated on the blue reflective blade. He landed and reared at the stallion, flaring and flapping his wingspan. He knew the blade would be harder to obtain if it remained tied to Adrian. Luthias flicked his tail in irritation and slashed at his target.

Adrian blinked, and suddenly the gray creature he was coming to realize was a heavily mutated soquili was flying at him once again. Freezing, he could do nothing but stare as the other stallion reared at him. He tried to think, tried to move, but honestly had never been in this type of situation.

Finally, as the gray mutant slashed at him, he dodged to the side and decided he was done with words. The other was apparently not going to talk anyway. He leaned forward, grabbing his cleaver once again and prepared to lash out. Backing away a few steps to quickly get a little distance, he flapped his wings once and decreased his size as much as he could. It wasn't a skill he often used, but his flutter heritage enabled him to shrink by a quarter of his body size. A smaller target was an advantage, and the decreased weight would make him faster in the air.

He gazed down at the mutant, waiting to see what he would do next.

tag, and thanks. I know we talked about not overly caring about little actions like that last night, but I'd prefer to be the one who decides how Adrian will react to a lunge or slash. ^^

Luthias thought for a second he was loosing his mind, (not that he hadn't already) when he watched Adrian flex in overall size. He remembered how the last flutter he encountered did something similar, seeming to change its size at will.
He snarled, his target was getting smaller and farther away from him. Luthias again mentally cursed himself for being so clumsy and missing the first time. He sensed a loss in this encounter, he had underestimated his foe, a critical mistake.
He could see Adrian was just beyond his bite reach, and decided to quickly spin and swing his long meaty tail for a longer ranged attack.

Adrian glared down at the mutant below him, grinding his teeth into the handle of his knife. Unknowingly copying his mother, whom he had never met. When the creature looked up at him as if trying to decide the best attack method, Adrian tensed in anticipation of whatever it threw at him.

So, when the huge tail came whistling through the air Adrian was faced with whether to try to harm the mutant was worth it or if he should just dodge and try to get away. The knife was already facing outward so it was an easy choice. It would have the added benefit of spilling some delicious blood for him to sample.

((Certainly go ahead and roll for a hit or miss, or just pick. I don't care, lol. I just figured it would be a pretty short/frustrating encounter if Adrian kept dodging or if he just flew off...))

The blade slipped into his flesh, and gored his tail. Luthias cursed the wound under his breath, and pulled his tail close to him to examine the injury.
Blood pored from his tail, Luthias stared at his tail, and watched the blood drip and roll of the end of it. He instantly felt his head lighten and his hearing muffled, he could feel himself going down, all he could do to resist was throw his head back before lights went out.
His body fell to the stone with a thump, his wound was hardly severe. Luthias has rarely been injured and when he does he often over dramatizes the severity of it.

Adrian watched the other fall to the ground in weary bewilderment. It was quite possible the thing was playing possum, and he wasn't going to fall for it. The wound he'd inflicted was bleeding sluggishly, forming a small pool on the ground where its tail rested. Adrian licked the blood from his blade and grimaced, it was almost bitter. Underwhelmed by his newest 'victim', he decided to leave well enough alone.

After a few moments, he turned away to clean his blade and straighten his accessories. They were a pain in a situation like this, but they were a point of vanity for him. As was his hair, though he was honestly thinking of having it cut to a more manageable length if more fighting was going to be in his future...

With a final look behind him, he decided the thing could fend for itself. There was no reason to help even though he had inflicted the wound. It shouldn't have attacked him in the first place if it didn't want him to retaliate. Trying to steal his knife...with that, he flapped his wings a couple of times and flew off.

Rolling:
1. Something Else attacks him.
2. Adrian is struck with a pang of conscience, and turns to see if the creature behind him is okay.
3. Adrian leaves. (Enter Aryon)
4. Adrian is about to leave, however (enter Aryon)

User ImageAryon, he knew that was his name but not a lot else. What was a name when he didn't know who he was? Alanna had said that his memory could start coming back at any moment with any kind of trigger. He hoped that someone might recognize him, so with his name he would know when they saw him. Hopefully there would be someone.

He was on his way to see the witch Alanna had told him about with that thought in mind, hoping to see someone who knew him enough to talk to him. Not that he would recognize them. He sighed pityingly to himself, what was the point...he'd been traveling for a week now and hadn't seen anyone, much less someone who might know him...or even the witch that Alanna had told him of.

Suddenly, he tripped over something. Stumbling to his front knees, he slid a few inches. Just enough to take all the skin off of his knees and to leave the aching promise of a bruise within the next half hour. Great.

Lurching to his feet with a wince, he turned to glare at whatever had tripped him and gasped. He'd tripped over a body!!

((Couldn't really see Adrian staying unless he felt a random stab of empathy...he doesn't do that often. So, you get Aryon who can heal instead! 8D ))

Luthias stirred, his body was sore from where he had been laying. His wound, still wet, burned like the sun. He snarled at the pain and tried to find his legs again and stand. He wobble a bit and dug is talons into the rocky earth to strengthen his footing. His vision was blurred and he felt disoriented, when the fog in his eyes cleared he could see a bewildered unicorn looking back at him.

"Wha... Who are you? Where is the other one?" Luthi asked the blue haired stallion.

((It all leads back to Baba, lol...so we don't forget.))

He looked around warily at the mention of an 'other one'. Was the thing that had injured the unknown soq in front of him still about? Aryon frowned as he tried to listen for something he wasn't sure he'd be able to hear.

"What happened to you?" he asked.

A bush rustled and he put himself between it and the downed soquili, relaxing when he saw it was only Alanna emerging from the brush. It would seem she had finally caught up with him. He had been walking ahead a ways to scout sort of, but really he'd just wanted to be alone and the brightly colored mare liked to chatter.

Alanna was beginning to wonder if Aryon had wandered off again. Honestly, he was worse than a foal to keep track of sometimes. Baba Yaga was around here somewhere, or she had been the last time Alanna had seen her. The witch wasn't someone Alanna would normally associate with because Baba was just a little terrifying, but beggars couldn't be choosers when you were looking for a favor or solution to a problem.

"Oh my goodness! Aryon, what did you do?! Is he okay?" she exclaimed, catching site of the downed dragon-esque soquili.

The unicorn seemed eager to help. "Oh I think.. It think I attacked someone, and they fought back with the most beautiful glistening weapon." He said with fondness, thinking of the knife. He hissed and winced as he looked back at his tail, It still looked bloody and he quickly looked away again. An emptiness swelled in his belly and he struggled to keep himself from blacking out again.
Luthi held out his tail for Aryon to see, it was bleeding but the cut was not terribly deep. "Do you think you can help?"
