Spoof's Teepee ||| Chesh's Teepee It was high noon and the sun was beating down like a brick. A bead of sweat trickled down his forehead and he glared at it resentfully. Was this really the boy raised in the desert? Whinging to himself about a little heat? Pathetic, he thought to himself.
In all fairness however, it truly was horrible hot. Not a soul was about, not even birds sang, such was the heavy heat of the day. Every sensible creature was taking refuge in shade, a cave, or in their burrows. At present, he couldn't remember why he himself was not hiding from the sun's rays. It was a record hot summer, everyone agreed. This heat went beyond the normal complaints into the realm of danger. He had heard tell that a few had died and the only saving grace was that it rained frequently. On that thought, Knuckle was reminded of his hatred for humidity. The desert was dry, it didn't play around at being wet too, he grumbled.
Oh right. Now he remembered why he was away from his beloved dry heat, he was searching for his brother. It was time to tell Banzai about their mum who had died last year. He'd searched for the other guy briefly but had decided it was more important to see her one last time.
"Huh, suppose I should tell him about Regi too...eh. It really has been a while." he said to himself.
A while was an understatement, he hadn't seen his brother in nearly ten years, ever since he left to be on his own. It was funny, he'd left with the intent to never return. He'd loved his family, but nothing ever happened in the desert and he'd wanted adventure. Now he lived on the edge of it, never too far away that the weather was anything but dry, and hot. A drop of sweat fell into his eye and he cursed once again the humidity of the air and the general unpleasantness of the day.

With the sun high in the sky, Banzai found himself out and about once more. Recently, he had begun to think that his traveling days were over, but more and more frequently he found himself wandering the hills. If only his family could see him now. He doubted that any of them could ever imagine the change he had undergone. Heck, if he hadn't met Acacia he might still be the party boy that he used to be. Then again, if Acacia left him... Well, he might just revert back to his old ways. How long had she been gone now anyway? It had probably just been a few days, but to the stallion it felt like eternity. Would she stay with him? Could she still love him? It wasn't as if he had cheated on her, no nothing like that. She had to know that, but, he could still understand if she could no longer love him.
The stallion shook his head, trying to rid himself of the thoughts. Even without Acacia, he knew that he could find happiness again, though it might take a while. He could always return to Bangil, perhaps they actually had something together? The stallion shook his head once more. No, that would never work. What they had had was one wild night and that was all. Banzai doubted that he could love another, but he could at least be there for his children. Perhaps, one day, he could become simply just friends with Acacia. One day.
Banzai came to a stop near the edge a river. He wasn't entirely sure how far he had traveled or for how long. Was it his turn to take the foals tomorrow? The stallion wasn't entirely sure, he didn't think that it was, but perhaps he ought to make his way back just in case? Besides, what would Acacia think if she returned to find him gone? With his mind made up, the stallion decided to rest a few moments before heading back the way he had come.
