Under strict restrictions to protect the princess. That's what they had told her when she was out in the roguelands. They had been traveling with a small group of merchants while Emi was acting as an embassador of the 'Nera- but hidden as if she were any other commoner. Decored with a hoodie and feathers than royal metals. Kata knew the best times to speak to the princess or treat her royal like- but other times to protect her- she had to treat her like she'd treat any perfect stranger. With an eye open at night.. they had traveled for days on end across the setting sun til they arrived at a small oasis in the desert. They were always on edge to bandits.. as they too acted like bandits but much more dignified. "I'll check the perimeter." She announced as her body lifted from the sitting position to observe and watch over the group's moral and emotional standings. "If you all need me- just call as you know." Shrugging them off and acting as non chalant as ever. Trotting along and securing the camp for many yards after. Smelling any scents and checking any movement. A particular scent came in to haunt her as she turned her head. She had been imagening that scent- she had to have been. That or he was following her.. and just missing her by a hair.
Ubi had been wondering the roguelands traing ever since that female said he was easy to sneak up on. She inraged him so. He had been training on his tree climbing and speed and stelth. He was going to show her what he was made of and she would respect him; thats all he wanted. He recently caught her scent once again and followed it, but there was a proble, he smelt another. He though it might work in his favor if she was destricted. It took awhile before the scent became strong and he saw the bright orange figure. He quickly dodged behind the nearest bush to watch, he would have climbed a tree if he thought he wouldnt be seen.
The sands under her paws seemed to make her sink the more irritated she got. Turning around every which side in almost a sign of paranoia.. But she cooled down when she didn't see anything. The scent.. was daunting for sure. Her tail padding softly behind her as she watched from the highest point of the sand dunes. Calming her body before another figure came in to contact and she sprinted forward with haste.. Territory. "Who goes there!" She yelled out.. and a head popped out. A wilddog or canine of some kind whimpered out.. if it was up to her. She'd kill them, but the merchant clan she was with were non confrentational since Emi had been around. Then a couple of puppies whimpered a bit out of the bushes. Damnit. "We have some extra food. I guess- just hush thoughs puppies if you can.." Before the other took hold of the wilddogs, she was relieved and watched for anyone else that could be lurking and saw the slightest hint of a shadow that she thought moved. It twitched her ears as she heightened herself to look in power. Eyeing his [ Ubi's ] way for quite a bit of time before turning and walking the other way.
Ubi saw how well his stealth training was working for him luckily the wild dog puppies were there and cause more of a cover for him. He watched through the bushes being careful yo only moved have she has stopped looking that last time was close, he would have thought she would see him for sure. Ubi continued to jump and crawl from bush to bush lurking closer to the orange female. He just hoped he wouldnt get caught before he could surprise her. He had no intention of hurting her, he just wanted to scare her for her arrogance the last time. Perhaps an apology, but he doubted it would happen.
Seeing the wilddogs getting escorted she calmed down a bit. "That brat." She growled and moved around the permeter again. Walking in a slow crawl. Every time, he got closer even by a step her fur would rise. She wanted in the back of her mind to get caught but she thought it was only her mind playing games. "That brat- and now I have to hold the miss.. he stinks.. stinks." Shaking her head as she sat on a dune to look now, at the group. The wilddogs' shadows moving as they played and ate. "Well isn't that a sight." Seeing Emi's shadow play with them. The princess was too kind... but she knew the horrors if they were to get attacked.. then she waited for the right time before she barked her voice up. "I hope the haunting could stop now.. you stink!" She was talking to her mind outloud little did she know that it wasn't in her mind- it wasn't a phobia! It WAS HIM! But of course she didnt know any better.
Through the small gaps in the bushes he watch her closely. He saw the way she was beginning to tense up. He sank low to the ground and stayed still, he didnt want to give himself away. The puppies brought a smile to his face reminding him of him and his brother. Ubi had almost forgotten what his inital goal was until her heard a voice that sent a chill down his spine. He wasnt sure weather to move or stay hidden. Was she talking to him or was it just a figmet of his imagination. He hoped he hadnt been discovered not yet... he was trying so hard to impress her.... He couldnt let her get the upper hand he was close enough, well he hoped he was. He got ready took a deep breath and darted towards her jumping over the rambuncious pups that were infront of her tackling her to the ground.
When she was tackled, her breath was taken as she had been almost absorbed in the puppies and playing mind games with herself that. Even that, she was surprised and opened her eyes in surprise when her head hit the ground. "You!" She was startled for sure and finally after a long stare, pushed him over and settled her paws against his neck. "Who sent you!"
Ubi just stared deep into the deep blue eyes of the female. He was captivated and a bit caught of guard himself. "No one" He said pushing her paw away and stepping onto his paws. It was odd now that he was a bit taller then her since her grew since the last time. "I found you to show you that im not as weak as you thought." He huffed he didnt know how the female could both enrage him and attract his attention. "What are you doing here anyway." He said with a level-headed tone even if the female was angry with him. "Oh by the way, you were easy to be crept upon." He said smering repeating the exact phrase she said to him from there first meeting. "How did it feel to be the lurkie and not the lurker." He chuckled with pride in his progess and skills.
For a moment she was quite defensive but he didn't seem to smart enough to have arranged something more than just himself for an attack. She shook her head at the thought of remembering where she met him. She had a head of a leader in her maw... "Perhaps." She lifted her chin. Giving him the eye. "I let you- thats why." Huffing and shruting her stuff as she cirlced around him in inspection. "You have SOME skill- could be sharpened. Still the same- is that all you came here for- if so. You can leave." Sitting down and softly licking her paw as if he ment nothing but really..
Kata was quite impress- though she wouldn't say so. She was an assassin overall- and such things like lurking and tackling were quite a skill to come over. "You can't roll with the big boys~" Looking at her paw and smirking to herself. "Your still a baby- whoever sent you should find themselves better men~"
Ubi's smile quickly faded, there it was that arrogant attitude. He wasnt surprised, "Well, to be honest i dont believe you let me tackle you by the look of defeat when i did." He began to circle her. "Besides with my 'some-skill' I was able to get close enough to you without being caught." He got close to her holding his head high. He wasnt going to let her push his buttons like last time. "And i dont believe little girls should be alone, espically those who can be easily snuck upon." He smirked. "Like i said wasnt sent by anyone i do what i want when i want." He said taking a step closer getting right in her face.
