Silver hues looked into the rushing water as it passed over stones, smoothing them, though some stayed rough when left behind. Watching, eyes trailing over the landscape, she took a breath and continued the cycle until the water came to one of the great basins hidden within the mountainscape beyond the settlement. Here, now, there were no humans, no fights, no need for tension. Here was peace, home, freedom. Here, was life.
Reisx came to the edge of the stone basin, one side high and curved from the lapping water, and she opened her mouth, breathing mist in and out from his mouth. Shining eyes watched as water crashed and circled, and then traveled down by route of smaller streams breaking off from the basin itself.
She would break away too.
Now was time.
Turning, she headed for where she suspected Cellen may lay, the stone spiral bed she had created in the grove not far off. It would be a short day, of light, as the sunset seemed to approach earlier and earlier everyday. They needed to make it to the edge of the woodlands beyond the walls before nightfall to take their places.
She picked up the pace, paws light upon the cooled ground, ears listening.
The journey was about the begin.

Nestled tight as his plume tail masked his muzzle, Cellen lay there immersed within a slumbering spell. His coherency was vague as he teetered between the crisscross hatching of a somewhat tangible reality. Flicking to the side, the ferals ears swiveled. The stillness of the looming night was peaceful yet embedded within such solitude there was a brimming wariness--Cellen couldn't put a paw on it. It was a feeling that bore a magnitude which could penetrate ones very sanctuary that was encompassed within a dream; it was unsettling, to say the least. The recesses of his paradise dreamscape became tainted and abruptly began to collapse. its magnificent radiance of unbridled wilderness and serenity began to ooze with a dread and alarm and just as its security was breached, Cellen was thrown back into the wakes of consciousness.
The weight of heavily sunken eyelids lifted as they flashed a rich amber against the dark of his fur. A low grumble emitted from out of his throat as Cellen scanned his surroundings. It was vacant, as it should be. Shifting slightly, the black and tribal marked male stretched his forepaws outward as he wiggled and splayed the toes of his paws with a wiggle. He threw his head upward and gave a great yawn before he laid down on his side in a heap. Around his neck, his scarf wrapped around him and seemed to embrace his neck with an entwining hug.
Snorting, the Feral lay in wait. It was evident by the lack of her overwhelmingly fragrance that Reisx wasn't in close proximity yet she would be soon.
Admittedly, he wasn't fond of the plan that was to be construed yet the gravity of it all bore such a prominent importance to his mate that even he couldn't deny that it had to be carried out; the past was to receive closure, once and for all. It was to be the beginning of a new chapter whose possibilities were innumerable.
