Inigo aimed a frown through the windshield at the snow flurrying all around the SUV, then sighed. Why did it have to be snowing? It was barely a flurry when he'd left, but had since started trying to lay thick blankets over everything by the time he reached Camphoreon. Ugh, snow... He'd driven in it before, of course - had plenty of practice - but that didn't mean he had to like it. Well, granted he liked walking in it, and sledding was fun (and tobogganing) but not driving. He didn't like sliding, and that seemed to be all the vehicle wanted to do at this point. It was even making Leilani and Fantasia nervous, and he didn't like that at all. It was bad enough that it made him nervous, he didn't need any of his pokemon getting nervous too.
After finally managing to (slowly) round a corner (with minimal sliding), he continued down the road at a speed comparable to a rampaging, land-locked Magikarp. Ugh. Why did it have to be snowing...?

She had heard there would be a snow coming, even bothered to look it up on her gear, a habit she picked up from the months she spent training in Hoenn, it was good to always know the weather. The trainer had planned to just be back home before the storm hit, she just had to pick up some new equipment from the music shop, and retrieve her harp, that she had dropped off for a tune up.
Her path home, while wouldn't take a long time to get to the bus, lead past the memorial park that her mother was.
... Seemed she had lost track of time after arriving, having been so comfortable sitting in front of the tombstone, her warm fire horse laying next to her, barely even minding the cold as she plucked lightly as the small hard nestled in her lap, leaned over it before her fingers became to numb to play anymore. It wasn't good for her harp, she knew this, but for a moment of carelessness, she risked its condition, to be able to sit and think for a time.
It wasn't until it started snowing that she was pulled back to her reality. Blue eyes blinking, as her eyes pulled away from the name of her mother, deeply engraved into the dark marble stone, up to the darkening gloom overhead.
Even though she was quick to pack her instrument with a warm comment of departure to her mother, the trainer, Ponyta trotting at her side and a Pikachu hanging onto her shoulder, were not quick enough to escape the dump of the snow storm. It came hard, and fast.
It was hard to seem and it was very cold, Rosie held the casing of her harp close to her chest, under her jacket, It helped that Pastin's flames were so close. "We're almost there guys," she told her pokemon, thankful that they were such troopers.

Green eyes squinted a bit, his hands slid down each side of the steering wheel as he leaned over it a bit to try and see the road better. The windshield wipers weren't doing anything at all to improve his visibility... Not that it was really completely terrible, it just wasn't as good as he would've liked. ...actually he would've liked it if there was a distinct and total lack of snow anywhere, either on the roads or in the air. Cold too - warm weather was so much nicer th--
A small, quick gasp from the back seat was immediately followed by a loud "niuu!" made louder by the close proximity and the enclosed space made by being in a car, and Inigo's first reaction was a startled "hrk" followed by slamming on the breaks. Thankfully he'd been going slow anyway with no other cars close to him at all, so by the time the car slowly slid to a stop he sighed and put it in park. He twisted around to fix his Meganium with a bewildered frown. "Leilani! ¿Qué fue eso?" He didn't wait for a response, but followed her excited gaze out the window. A head of blond hair bobbed into view, flanked by a Ponyta on one side and a Pikachu on her shoulder, and she looked to be carrying something... Ugh, he couldn't imagine walking in this weather.... Hey, wait a minute! Didn't he know her? He didn't recognize either pokemon, but that blond head looked really familiar.... Aha, that was it!
It took only a short moment for his window to fully roll down before he partially leaned his head out of it and called out the girl's name. "Rosie!" Oi, carajo! It was cold! He idly fumbled with the knobs on the panel to crank up the heat to compensate for the open window, the snow taking full advantage of the new space to blow in as many flakes as possible.

There were not many sounds to hear other then the sloshing of cars driving through the snow, the wind and the crunching under her feet and Pastin's hooves.
But the sudden yell of her name over the storm did reach her, and the blond paused. "Huh?" lifting her hand up to over her eyes, trying to shield from the falling snow as she searched for who was calling her name. Was it one of her friends?
Blinking in surprise when she saw someone she wasn't expecting, but after a few moments, making out who it was from the storm and distance she gasped, being careful where she stepped she hurried over to the stopped vehicle and the open window. "Inigo!" She did look cold, snow was sticking to her hair quite heavily, and her cheeks and nose were pink from the cold. "Its been such a long time! I didn't know you were in the city." Despite her discomfort, the girl smiled, happier then ever to see and old friend again.

He couldn't help but give her a lop-sided grin as she ran up to the car. "I know, long time no see! I just came in for the day but I didn't know it was gonna snow this bad," he said, but then shrugged as he lifted one hand palm-up in a 'what can you do?' gesture. His green eyes slid over to the Pikachu on her shoulder and the Ponyta nearby. He still wasn't used to his fire-type yet - it was so strange, having a fire-type after he'd pointedly avoided them for so long - but the Pikachu reminded him of Eclair, and a brief sad look flickered over his face before he shook it off and returned to reality with a concerned look. "Es muy frío," he commented in a thicker accent before he switched back, "you must be freezing, what are you doing out here? Actually, jump in, it's warm in here," the brown-skinned teen offered as his hand slipped along his door and right after a loud clink signaled the doors had unlocked.

The blue eyes Pikachu on Rosie's shoulder blinked at the man, not knowing who this was, and wondering where Rosie knew him from. She smiled brightly when he looked over at her though, still huddled against Rosie's shoulder.
Rosie let off a small giggle at the gesture about the storm, and a moment when he spoke in Spanish, she remembered he did that a lot. "Yeah, it came in a lot quicker then I expected. I was just in town picking up some things, trying to make it to the bus stop." She explained
When he offered for her to get in the car, she perked up visibly. "Oh~ thank you" Looking down at Pastin, and gesturing to him. "come on" she said lightly, making their way around carefully not to slip. before she opened the door.
Kiss was the first in the car, jumping off of Rosie's shoulder and onto the seat, shaking the snow off of herself before scooting over as Rosie slipped the case into the floor by the seat, and stepped in herself, to sit down. "Oh its much warmer in here." she said, reaching into her pocket to pull out a Love ball, returning Pastin into it for now, so she could close to door.

Aww, this Pikachu looked cute and friendly, too.. Pushing the thoughts of Eclair and Aila aside, he pushed the button to roll up his window while Rosie got in. Leilani, however, eagerly craned her neck around to headbutt Rosie's shoulder affectionately. "Niuu~"
"Leilani," Inigo chuckled, but didn't deter her. He could tell the Meganium was happy to see the trainer again, too. Once she'd closed her door and buckled herself in, he switched the car back into drive and very carefully continued down the street. "Yeah, same. I didn't think it would be so bad so fast, but," another shrug, then grinned and adjusted the knobs again. He was perfectly fine, but she was probably chilled to the bone, as the saying went. "Yeah it is. Once you're warmed up you can turn the heat down if you want to. So I knew you had a Meganium, I didn't know you had a Ponyta or a Pikachu," he commented, squinting a bit through the snow again. Was it just him or was it getting even worse?

The nudge on her shoulder drew her attention around, "Leilani!" Rosie said, in pleasant surprise, twisting around in her seat to wrap an arm around the Meganium's head, hugging her happily "mi amor bonita~ I missed you so much, have you been taking care of Inigo?"
Kiss Kiss perked up, leaning forward and smiling back at the two pokemon in the back seat, she didn't know there were others, was this a trainer friend of Rosie's then?
Still gently patting Leilani with one hand, Rosie reached out with the other to warm it up by the heater vent. looking grateful "Thanks for the warm up Inigo," She looked outside the window... wow it was just as hard to see out there as it was in here. and it was getting darker.
When he asked about the two pokemon she had with her, she smiled, looking down at Kiss Kiss who seemed excited that the subject was not partly on her. "This is Kiss Kiss, I actually had her before I had Hattie. I just didn't have her out when he met first. She was actually the first pokemon I ever caught on my own." She grinned.
Kiss Kiss held up a paw to Inigo, making a gesture as if blowing him a kiss, and wiggling her ears "Pika- chuuu~"
"I got my Ponyta back in spring, His name is Pastin. I've got a great team of Pokemon." Rosie looked back to Lailani. noticing that she wasn't alone back there. "I see that Lailani isn't your only pokemon anymore, Who's this cutie?" She asked, noticing the Deerling.

Leilani wriggled in the back seat with suppressed excitement before she crooned exuberantly and nuzzled into Rosie. Inigo beamed. "You remembered!" And even pronounced it nicely, too. "Yeah she has," he affirmed with a lop-sided grin, "as always." He was infinitely both glad and lucky to have her.
Since they were going at a veritable crawl along the road - in a straight line, no less - he could afford to look around a bit more... and managed to catch Kiss Kiss's gesture, and it made him chuckle. "You're certainly friendly, aren't you? Not to mention adorable," he told the little electric-type. "And Pastin looks awesome." Were Ponyta normally those colors? He didn't really know. Maybe he should've looked them up or something...
When Rosie directed her attention to the little Deerling in the backseat, said Deerling ducked her head a bit, and her ears flicked back against her head momentarily. His expression depressed into a smile, and he noted that even though she was still nervous and shy, it was still progress. Before she probably would have bleated and hid behind a seat or something. "That's Fantasia," he told her, sliding his green eyes from the rear-view mirror back onto the road. "She was a gift from a -- a friend of mine. Back in the spring. I've gotten others too, mostly grass-types..." Which was going to change - actually, it had already started to. "Oh yeah, I got a Ponyta pretty recently, myself. Didn't think I'd ever get a fire-type, but," another shrug.
It was then he frowned at the snow through the windshield again, then cast a sidelong glance at the blond in the seat beside him. "It's getting pretty bad, and I don't think we'll get very far very fast. Wanna stop for a while?" But just sitting in the car was no fun... His gaze flicked along the buildings and shops down the street before they alighted on a little cafe, and he brightened up a bit. "Oh! We could go in there for hot chocolate - or coffee, if you don't like hot chocolate." But hot chocolate was always what you drank after being out in the snow, or at least, that's what his mom had always insisted. Not that he would ever disagree. He loved hot chocolate.

Rosie giggled at his comment about her remembering the bit of Spanish he had taught her. How could she forget? It was such a cute saying, it was like a treasured gift, him teaching her how to say it. she could never forget.
Kiss Kiss officially liked this kid, he called her adorable~ and said her team make was awesome! She smiled brightly at this, perking her ears forward and swaying from side to side a little, putting her paws to her heart shaped cheeks in a gesture of being touched, and flattered by his comment.
Her expression softened at his complements about her pokemon, She certainly thought so as well, and loved her team, the were so hard working, and really were getting closer as a group. She never knew someone could be those close to pokemon before, not like when she caught her own, and trained them so for as long as they have been. And this was only be beginning.
"Fantasia" Rosie repeated, smiling at the Deerling."She's so cute. and little, I've never seen Deerling before." tilting her head, and addressing the little pokemon. "When you evolve, you'll be much much bigger~ and so elegant." She turned back to Inigo, strengthening herself in the seat again. "That was a very thoughtful gift from your friend, Pokemon handed down like that are important treasures." This was speaking from experience herself. She wasn't aware that she wasn't the only one feeling a weight in her heart right now.
This didn't last though, She listened to him talking about other pokemon. Rosie' arched her eyebrows, looking a little surprised. "Really? Are you starting to train more then?" and then the news about him having a Ponyta as well, Rosie's face lit up with a pleasant surprise. "A Ponyta! really? Aren't they amazing? such strong hearts for such little things."
the conversation was put on hold though, when Inigo brought up the weather. Blue eyes glanced cautiously at the wind shield, and the white blocking everything outside. "Yeah, I think that's a good idea. It doesn't look safe anymore." She agreed, leaning forward a little and hugging Kiss Kiss when the Pikachu hopped into her lap. "I think some Hot chocolate would be a great idea. we can catch up."

Inigo's eyes slid down to catch Kiss's second display, and he just chuckled as he reached a hand down to pat her head. "Are you always this cute?" He replaced his hand on the wheel as he carefully steered the SUV towards a spot in front of the cafe. It was probably safe to assume the little shop wouldn't be too busy in weather like this. He was glad though - he loved hot chocolate.
Fantasia's ears perked up when Rosie spoke, and the Deerling lifted her head a bit and bleated a greeting to the blond. Her coat was transitioning still from fall to winter colors, and was a beautiful, coppery mix of the orange of autumn and brown of winter. Inigo's green eyes flicked to the rear-view mirror, noting Fantasia in the seat before focusing on steering the vehicle into as much of an actual spot as he could figure out. Snow made it sort of hard to see the lines. "You haven't? I hadn't before I got her, then researched them a lot. Deerling's coats change color with the seasons. She was a soft orange for fall, and for winter it'll turn brown. When I got her in spring, she was bright pink," he chuckled. "If she's still a Deerling then, I can show you." Though he had a feeling she might evolve soon.. As he shifted the SUV into 'park' he paused with one hand on the wheel, the other on the stick, and his gaze slid to Rosie suddenly. "Important treasures.." His brow furrowed and he looked a little bewildered. "...do you really think so?" Aila.. why had she given Fantasia to him? To help his research, supposedly - she thought he'd have liked her. And he did. He learned so much about Deerling that he never would've known if she hadn't given the little grass-type to him.
With a thoughtful 'hmn' he got out of the vehicle and opened the door behind his. Fantasia hopped out and leaned against his legs, shivering from the cold already, and he stroked Leilani's head a bit before recalling her into her ball. She wouldn't fit in the cafe. "Yeah I am," he affirmed as he scooped up Fantasia under one arm in a practiced motion, and pulled a ball from his belt with the other hand. "As for Ponyta, I just caught her about a week or so ago so I haven't had much time to really.. well, do much with her." That said, the pokeball in his hand released a bright red flash of light that morphed into a short pony standing on the sidewalk in front of the store, and the shiny Ponyta shook herself off before the blue flames along her head, neck, and tail burned brighter, and she looked between the pair of humans curiously. "Her name's Sonata," Inigo informed Rosie as he stepped up onto the sidewalk and patted the fire-type's back. It was still really weird how it didn't burn him at all.

Kiss Kiss nodded in reply, followed with a soft giggle and a smile from Rosie, who hugged her Pikachu. "She is, but she's a tough one, that's for sure." Made it easy to underestimate her.
"I heard they change colors." Rosie said, with arched eyebrows, sounding impressed. "and that they go pink in the spring. I would love to see that." She smiled back at the little Deerling, before looking back to Inigo. "I recently added a Sawsbuck to my team, I notice he doesn't change colors that much, but the way he smells really does."
As they pulled into the parking lot, Rosie leaning forward to try and squint through the snow at where they were going to go into, wondering if she knew it. Before she got out of the car, she paused to regard him once more, with the question about. She blinked at him a couple of times, before giving him a soft smile. "Yeah, they must be a good friend. Its important to have that, especially now a days."
She felt much better after the warm up in the car, so when she got out of the SUV, pulling the case with her harp back out, with Kiss Kiss sitting on her arm, leaned against her chest. She walked around to meet with Inigo, and watched when he released his Ponyta, her eyes growing wide with a gasp when she saw the Ponyta he released. "Oh my- Inigo! I had no idea she was Shiny!" Rosie was breathless, the blue flames licking off the Ponyta's neck were beautiful blue.

Inigo nodded at her mention of Deerling. "They do. Sawsbuck don't really - they're pretty much brown all year, but it's their antlers that change. Though I think they do get a bit fluffier during winter. Their antlers are sort of like trees. They bloom in spring, and in winter they're bare. It's really cool," he said with a light chuckle and a wan smile. "They both smell different in different seasons." Thinking of Fantasia reminded him of Aila, and thinking of Aila just made him sad still. He couldn't help but wonder when it wouldn't make him sad... "Yeah.. She was a good friend," he said with a sigh as he toyed with Sonata's ball in his fingers..
And then Rosie gasped, and his eyebrows arched as he quickly looked up. He had nearly asked what was wrong when she exclaimed about his Ponyta, and he ran his fingers through his hair a bit sheepishly. "Is she? I don't even know what color they are normally," he admitted. Yeah, he definitely should've looked them up or something... "I just.. caught her near the desert. Didn't even mean to, really, it was one of my Whimsicott that did it actually." And he just... decided to keep her.
Sonata turned her gaze to Rosie, tilting her head a bit. She snorted and shook her head a bit before stepping closer to the blond girl a few steps, then halted and stretched her neck out to her. Her nostrils flared as she took in the girl's scent, expelling visible puffs of air with each breath. She didn't seem hostile though, so the Ponyta remained relaxed.

"Their antlers?" She said quietly, tilting her head as she hugged the case closer to her under one arm. "Oh..." That was interesting, Though, thinking back... she wasn't sure if Grael's antlers have changed yet. His didn't really look like a traditional Sawsbuck. Her thoughts were broken when he confirmed about the friend... with a look that seemed a bit too familiar... was something wrong? Still, Rosie gave him an gentle smile. Maybe she should ask about it once they're settled in...
But right now... PONYTA! "You didn't know! oh wow Inigo, this is an amazing find! and a girl to~ the common coloration for Ponyta are like her, but they have normal orange flame manes, its still really pretty, but this blue... wow its so bright! I never thought I would see a Shiny Ponyta!" She leaned forward a little, holding her hand out gently, and slowly as Kiss Kiss jumped onto her shoulder. letting the Ponyta sniff her, and become more comfortable.

"Yeah, I guess so. And she is pretty," he agreed with a sheepish chuckle as he rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand once he'd set Fantasia down on the sidewalk. She resumed shivering against his legs. "Should've looked into them when I caught her, but I was just.. Pretty busy," he finished with a shrug and a slight sigh. "So.. shinies are hard to find then? What about unique ones?" Weren't those rare too?
Sonata stepped closer to the blond girl more, arching her neck slightly as she sniffed Rosie's hand... Then her arm... Then her shoulder, and finally the Pikachu resting there. She tilted her head to the side a bit before her attention was pulled to the vehicle when it suddenly beeped and the lights all blinked twice.
Inigo slipped the keys back into his pocket after locking the SUV, then reached up to stroke Sonata's neck. "Better put her away and get inside before we turn into popsicles out here, yeah?" He asked with a chuckle as he rolled the pokeball around in his fingers some more, then patted the fire-type's neck gently. "I'll let you out again later, alright?" The Ponyta nickered softly in reply, so he took that as a 'yes' and recalled her. After replacing the ball in his pocket, he stepped forward and pulled the door open, pointedly waiting for Rosie to enter first before he followed. Fantasia waited for neither, and barely even waited for the door to open even a crack before prancing in out of the cold and snow.
