At four o'clock am in the morning, Marcus's cell phone suddenly went off, ringing for all its worth. The ID on the phone simply said "JULIE", not news of how, why or for what reason, if there was any reason as to why someone would even think of calling another person at four am.

It had to have been his imagination. It had to have been. His phone was not ringing. It was just a dream. Two seconds later Marcus groaned realizing that in dreams he wasn't aware of Dis going 'I bet it's Cass asking for cuddles.' If only it had been a dream. Screen illuminated, Marcus looked at the name. Julie? The moon hunter from the mission with all the- yeah. Why was she calling him? At four am no less? (He was however, eternally, grateful that it was not Dr. H requesting him to do 'the maths' again. He could do without that.)

A click and he answered. "Morning. Is there something I'm needed for at-" he checked. Yep, still four am. "Four in the morning?"

"JOHN." Julie's voice shouted through the phone. "This is of the utmost importance, oh god, this could mean life or death." A pause and the sound of something fumbling, not unlike someone dropping their phone on accident. A couple of seconds later:

"Life or death." the Moon Hunter repeated, "A mission, yes! I think a mission is appropriate. You are the only one who can do this, John Windwalker. You and two other trainees because we should assess your skills, somehow, this is very important. When you are ready, I will text you the information needed okay?"

Mission Request

Marcus must call two other Hunters here at 4 in the morning to help him out with this very important mission

PostPosted: Tue Nov 29, 2011 3:28 pm
He winced at the welling. She could have at least gotten his name right. He had no idea who John Windwalker is but he felt sorry for them. "Julie, this is Marcus. Marcus Hasan, the moon trainee from the clean up mission." If this was urgent however- "But it's okay, I'll find some guys and we'll come down." Hanging up, he scrolled down his contact list, chose two guys at random. Sorry Jordan, sorry Leon. It was 4 am and also mission time.

Got a mission from Julie, the one from the clean up mission.
and a second text to them.
Quote:
Help please. Meet me in hall if can.

He shifted, changing out of his sweats and putting on his hunter gear, coat included. It was a mission after all right? Stepping out into the hall he hoped the guys would show soon.

Let me count the ways that morning sucked.

For Leon, sleep was a many splendor thing, it was 8 hours of rest to compliment all the training he continued to put himself through on a daily basis. And this night he didn't even need to set his alarm clock.

Leon <ugh.. what?> LEON <i said what Nid?> HEY LEON! <oh for *&!('$ sake WHAT IS IT?>

Its 3:00. the simple sounding dragon stated like he should have known that while unconscious, receiving a blatant stare in the mirror from the half asleep boxer, still fiddling with bed hair. "I can see that big ben, way to be ******** obvious." he may have been a early riser, but it did not mean he couldn't have been a happy one. " I thought we agreed to get up around 3:30 for the task that Marcus needed us for?" he asked in his stupor and settled on just running his hands haphazardly through the short auburn locks.

Well one, you're already up, and i mean that in more than one way. Ever the observant boil in the back of his head, Leon Just pulled the sheets more to cover his waist and flushed in the mirror. "Natural human reaction, what was your next point?" And two, I wanted breakfast before we went. Figures. " You jerk." the boxer huffed back at his reflection before leaving the once comfortable sleeping cocoon and tiding the cot up. "I take care of my hygenic stuff and we will eat one poptart before we go." he said back in a fatherly tone that demanded obedience.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww~

With that settled, the life hunter began the prep work and gathering whatever he deemed necessary to carry along with him. Before that, It was time to put on some Boxers.

It wasn't long before 4 am and Leon strolled up in the hall finally wearing clothes and waved at the tanned teammate. "Morning Marcus." came the chipper reply as he bumped a fist into the man's side lightly. "By the way, you so owe me breakfast before Nidhogg nags me to death."

Whether the phone was actually louder when it went off at night was doubtful at best, but it certainly always seemed that way. Jordan grumbled and snagged the thing off the nightstand, peering blearily at the screen. What? Mission? He checked the time again. At 4 AM? Ugh. What the hell. Still, he guessed that was a fairly compelling reason to get up quickly.

Pulling on clothes and shrugging the coat and scarf into place over them only took a few minutes. As he let himself out into the hall, he nudged Ferros again. Hey, wake up.

A drowsy, annoyed mutter sounded in the back of his head, and he got the distinct sense of one large, glowing eye slowly unlidding to stare at him, then closing again pointedly.

I said wake up, lazyass. Mission. This time he felt Ferros stir and start to wake. He headed down the hall to meet Marcus. "We're here, if not terribly awake. What's going on?"

The moon trainee rolled his eyes at Leon. "Better than Dis telling me to bite Cass. But that's cool. I've save some bacon for you." Didn't bother him. Jordan got a sigh."Julia apparently has a mission. Called me John Windwalker so I have no idea. It's four in the morning and I want to sleep but I also don't want to get on anyone's bad side." A text to the same Julia, asking for the info.

It was practically five o'clock before the text finally arrived. Maybe it got lost in Hunter cyberspace mail.

And maybe the other half just hadn't arrived yet. Well, at least they could head over to the lighthouse first.

Upon arriving at the designated Lighthouse portal, which was really just where most Hunters and trainees parked for sentry duty, a Hunter, leaning against the side of the lighthouse stairs with a cup of lukewarm coffee, stared sleepily at them, gave a huge yawn, and fixed the kink in his neck. "Mornin' trainees. Something I can do for you, like a mission or sommat?"

Uhhh well. That was a most helpful and descriptive message if he'd ever gotten from the hunter staff. She also seemed to like smiles. He was half tempted to send a few smiles back. Just to be passive aggressive. He'd like to know what he is picking up. "Sorry guys. This..yeah I don't even know. Let's get this over with and head back to bed." Texting her back he wanted to go to sleep once this mission was over.

The text must have cut off, what items are we picking up?

He hoped she'd be more prompt in her reply, (really one hour wait? Thanks Julie). Looking at the hunter on duty he nodded. "Yeah. Got woken up an hour ago for a mission to retrieve some stuff from here for Julie. Know anything about that?" He looked over at Leon and Jordan, face reading 'Yeah I have no ******** idea'.

Ferros had gone back to sleep during the time they waited, the sense of him going vague and drowsy once again and drifting off into the faint echoey sounds and flickering images that Jordan assumed were dreams. It made him sleepy by extension, and when Marcus spoke again he jolted upright from where he'd been leaning on the wall and attempted unsuccessfully to look like he'd been alert the whole time.

He followed Marcus and Leon out to the lighthouse, the chill air waking him up more successfully; the Hunter on duty didn't appear to have any more idea what they were doing here than they did. Jordan shrugged back at Marcus, caught between annoyance and resignation at the weird mission.

Bacon? ew disgusting, horrible bacon.

OH I LOVE BACON.
Some things just didn't change even at pre dawn. The male let out a hefty yawn, didn't even bother to cover it up with a hand, they were bro's after all. It frankly was just too early for this bullshit. "Dude if they tell us to light the beacon up there i would be so irate." he said all off a sudden, what else could lighthouses be there for? The chilly night air was different here than in the city, more cold and quiet, almost unsettling as they were the only ones to make any noise on the path.

The hunter they found walking around on duty didn't really seem all that there himself. He couldn't help but wonder if they had somehow ruined his on duty naptime. Leon mimic'ed the two other shrugs and tried to keep a more stern face at the unlikely helper.

This mission was going to be worth more than a few slices of bacon.

Thankfully, Marcus did not have to wait long for the rather prompt reply.

And thankfully again, the sentry Hunter heard the word "Julie" and snorted - trying his very best to cover it with a cough. A cough that was slowly dissolving into not-so-well concealed laughter. Thankfully he managed to compose himself somewhat. "Oh I see, Julie's mission. Her late night missions, y'all have fun okay. Aisle B, row three, you'll need exactly two bags of it. Good luck ya trainees, portal settings are already adjusted." There was an extra heavy emphasis on the word 'trainees'.

With that he gestured towards the portal, trying his best to compose himself, managing not to laugh outright until the last of the three trainees sent on a 'mission'. Oh trainee hazing, regardless of who they were, each Division always had their own method.

It didn't take long for the three trainees to step through and see that they were standing right in the center of a parking lot. In fact, other than trees surrounding the parking lot, and quite a few occupied cars, there only lay one other construction: a giant Super Mart complete with glowing yellow sign. A middle-aged lady carrying her baby walked by Marcus, Jordan, and Leon, stared for a second at their choice of clothing, shook her head - tsk tsk- and continued to walk.

Trainees was probably equal to 'bitches' in his head now. Julie was pretty much ******** with them at this point and he was half tempted to tell her he was needed elsewhere and just try to bullshit his way out of it. But it was too late, he said he'd do it. "Sorry guys." He muttered to Jordan and Leon. The other hunter was looking like he wanted to just laugh at them. Thankfully, Marcus didn't hear it. Aisle three, Row B huh? Whatever. A grab and go errand. Fun.

Stepping through the portal he just- ********. She had sent them shopping? With... He checked his pockets. Yeah what money. She wanted them to steal? The lady got a scowl. Like she even knew what she was tsking about. He was one of the people fighting to keep her safe.
b***h.
Looking to the other two guys Marcus motioned to the store. "I am guessing it's a grab and go. Let's just get this over with." He had no idea what they were going to be grabbing. Food? Feminine products? Booze? Porn? God, trainee was synonymous with b***h wasn't it?
PostPosted: Tue Nov 29, 2011 10:45 pm
Jordan stared at the Super Mart. "Man, this is practically surreal," he said finally. "You get used to weird and normal's weird all of a sudden." He looked to Marcus and Leon, bemused. "What the hell. Let's go get the shopping done. I hope one of you remembered your wallet, because I'm pretty sure mine's in a drawer somewhere."

"No kiddin' Jordan" Leon commented back with a huff and glared daggers at the old bitty. "Oh, please don't tell me we're on a tampon run." he muttered t the others and began to pat himself down in search for a wallet. A wallet that he never needed to carry since he started to work with this crazy branch. "Looks like they wont take strange silver colored seeds either." he commented dryly back to Jordan and Marcus
