Conquest, conquerer of tiny rooms, emperor of white walls, the lord and ruler of tiny metal tables to which he was currently chained and shackled to. How the mighty have fallen. As Invictus moved the limited range of his chains within his confinement, he might have been happy to see that there was indeed a door at the far end and what looked like a long black mirror stretching past it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Conquest, conquerer of tiny rooms and doors. Or prisoner: sometimes it was hard to tell.

OOC

- Invictus has been confined in Examination Room A. He cannot leave the room, and the shackles restrict her from attacking anyone who enters - leaving a nasty sort of paralytic electric shock whenever he tries to do something unwanted.
- He is free to interact with herself and with anyone else who enters the room, as well as respond with the other player/gm prompts to his liking

It was probably a bit like watching a lion in a zoo, the way Invictus paced back and forth in the room, watching that door, but not approaching it. Was he tamed? Probably not, but there was enough sense there for him to know that he would not be passing through that door. He watched cautiously, only once trying to break free of the chain that bound him.

The shock afterwards was nasty, and that was enough for him to know he needed to think of some other method by which he could pass through that door and leave. Though truly, they had become prisoners to save students who probably weren't even giving the four of them even a second thought at that moment. So stupid, those little students running into the immediate danger without a thought as to if they would return from it, or even the bigger picture there.

They didn't even have to pay for it themselves.

He took up the chains to investigate them, he seemed almost calm, thoughtful..but there was a heaviness around him that implied quite the opposite, his teeth grinding against each other as he played through the situation in his head. He suspected he'd be seeing some familiar faces in the near future, if nothing else.

But after a moment of the calm, the growling seething grating angry sound, that echoed through the room, not even sounding as though it came from him, but rather the air in general returned.

"No, it's fine. Finish the coding you mentioned earlier and I'll review when I'm done here." A female voice filled the room as the door opened, "Yeah, the binding is secure, no wear and tear whatsoever." A familiar blonde woman in a long white coat entered the room, and glanced over at the captive, and wrote something on her clipboard, "Congratulations, you are now subject 642. While it is in your best interest to continue cooperating, the doctor will likely be pleased if you put up a struggle and make a few pained faces for the cameras every once in awhile."

Clarice's neutral tone grew wry as she brought out her phone and started sending texts. "To be honest, I never thought you'd really go in for the whole poor little hostages ploy."

The OOC

If you have been quoted, you have been summoned via cell phone to participate in and 'Introduction to Subject Observation and Testing.' Simply arrive in the room to await further instructions, though trainees are free to talk quietly with each other.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 29, 2011 11:15 pm

Invictus seethed at the woman who entered the room, pacing back and forth, but making no effort to approach her in the least. He muttered in some horrible archaic language - possibly one even forgotten to the humans of modern era - as he watched her, seeming to listen as she 'assigned' his new name.

"Pity, you've put me in such an awkward position." ever word hissed hatred. Hatred and fury, but he didn't even reach out for her. "Because now what I want is what he wants and what he wants is also what I don't want, and it seems no matter what I do, I lose." The emphasis on the word 'lose' was particularly spiteful. "Though if we're going to be honest here, I'd say the fact you stay in the position you are in is more surprising than anything the four of us ever do."

What was he talking about, though? Something n particular? Or maybe he was just completely and totally bullshitting, either way, his poker-face returned from whatever vacation it had taken, and thus, by the time the trainees arrived, Conquest would seem almost collected about himself, even doing well to be on his best manners even.

If best meant he'd likely try to wring someone's neck before long.

"Preaching to the choir, guy," she muttered softly, before turning her attention back to her phone. For all his babble, compared to her earliest impressions of him, the Little Prince had grown slightly more sane during his visit home.

Deep in thought as she was looking over notes written partly in her own code that she had been writing since she had woken up most of them were questions that she had and maybe one day would have answered in some fashion, but she truly didn't know. Jumping slightly as her phone went off.

Shut up, Lin. I might get use to it one day but maybe its a good thing that it does do that or I just might ignore it and that would be a very bad idea. Tori then looked to see who the message came from and seeing that it was from Clarice. Well it looks that we have a summon for observation and testing, maybe it might be the maintenance duty that Caelius told us we had.

Always questions Tori thought, oh well it could have been worse. I don't know the exact number but a lot of different types. She replied to him as she closed her note book, grabbed her coat to put on and then her scarf, then was out the door to were she was suppose to go.

Quickly Tori gotten to the room that she had been told to go to. Walking in to the room she gave Clarice a nod as she walked father into the room quietly not saying a word as she was nervous and not wanting to make a bad impression of herself to Clarice and other hunters that could come into the room. As her eyes hardly left the horseman as she was studying him over as this was the second time she had ever seen one of the Horsemen. One of her hands slipped into her pocket as she waited for further instructions and played with the small notebook that was in that pocket and Tori could feel that Aklin give sorta growl when she first looked at the Horseman.

Ah, so this must have been that maintenance that Caelius had been talking about. Eva gave the message a quick skim before snapping her phone shut, spinning on her heel and heading in the opposite direction. She was curious what this task would entail (hopefully not more dead bodies) but she supposed that she would find out soon enough.

When she arrived, she realized that she was the second trainee to show up--the only others present were one of the new trainees, a vaguely familiar woman (where had she seen her before?) and a...

Oh. It was one of those creatures that Caelius had brought back. The corners of her lips drooped slightly but she said nothing as she looked the prisoner up and down. She knew better than to get close to or doubt the powers of these creatures, but she couldn't help but note that he was kind of adorable. Impressively impassive looking considering the circumstances, though. Small fellow, isn't he?

It would not be wise to say so aloud, Chara warned, her voice a little strained, I think you'd best be silent until the others arrive.

Right, she could do that. The death trainee lifted a hand in greeting towards Clarice and Tori, and then she turned her gaze back onto the prisoner. This would certainly be interesting.

Caelius had told the trainees they would be doing some kind of maintenance. The text, however, made it sound more like a class. If this was indeed what the Death hunter had been talking about. Didn't matter either way, an order was an order.

Upon entering the room, Sherry's eyes narrowed the just a bit at the sight of the figure in chains. He had been with Caelius at the end of the last mission. What was it the other trainees had said? Horsemen? A curious look crossed her face. What kind of class was this going to be? If it even was a class. With the slightest hint of a shrug, Sherry turned her attention to the others in the room.

Two trainees and a Hunter. Quietly, she moved out of the doorway and stood by the other trainees. She recognized them, but hadn't had the chance to speak with either yet. Perhaps she would later. Her eyes then went to the Life hunter, Clarice, who was clearly the one in charge. Part of her wanted to ask what kind of class this was, but Sherry knew instructions would be coming sooner or later.

Just have to wait and see, she told herself as she looked back to the one in chains.

Having been summoned by cellphone, Reine made her way quickly towards Examination Room A- or it would have been quick, if she hadn't taken a couple of 'short cuts'. By the time she finally found the place, she was--- oh. Not late yet, apparently.

Nodding to Clarice, she took her (rightful) place on Eva's right, murmuring a "hello" to her friend before turning to look at the small boy chained to the desk. Was he one of.. them? He did look like it; not only by the way he dressed, but he had a certain aura.

"Did I miss anything, Evie?" It seemed it had become customary to ask that question first; the memory of disobeying direct orders was still fresh in the life trainee's mind, and she intended to never again do that.

"Damn, but he looks like a little kid."

Things aren't always what they seem.

Robert had walked in quieter than usual, breathing out his observation with a little bit of remorse. Jezebel had been rather chatty lately, which was a startling surprise to him - and not entirely unwanted. He'd gotten the feeling that some of the other Hunters had a better relationship with their weapon than he did - the fact that she was starting to open up was a relief.

His eyes wandered. There was Reine, of course, because that was just how life was - and he gave a small nod and a polite smile to Eva. Then he left them alone and focused on the specimen.

"Wonder if we're gonna watch them dissect him."

The leaders sure did love to text. Leon felt the gentle buzz in the hunter vest and read the tidbit of info on it and hurried over to the Examination room A - or was it.. no it was A. Even with quick strides, the building layout wasn't exactly something easy to navigate, but arrived none the less.

This time Clarice was there to greet him along as he stepped into the small room and gave the senior hunter a light nod and walked over to stand next to Robert and all his glory. It was like being next to a Caelius in training.

Looks like you got a little pony there Leon, best not try to give him a carrot. Nid said teasingly before gong back into its own daydream of what food to have next. It was a stretch to believe this tiny guy was one of the horsemen, but Nidhogg did confirm it himself.

Size or not, it had to be true "Maybe they are getting sent off to the glue factory Robert." the life hunter said with a even stare at the rather composed prisoner. "But a autopsy might be a more precise term, maybe even vivisection."

Clarice nodded to the trainees in greeting, and begin searching her pockets, eventually pulling out a small metal box. "No dissections, that's not really my thing. Besides which, why would you even be invited to one, Morris? Just in case one of the female trainees to get carried around against her will?" She gave him a flat look, "Since Caelius dealt with you, I left it alone, but if you ever pull s**t like that again in these labs, you'll find yourself waking up in a very petite female golem every day until I stop being amused and consider the lesson learned, got it?"

She turned her attention to the rest of the gathering, and raised her voice slightly, "This is subject 642, he's part of the Horseman clan that represents Conquest, though in modern times they're often referred to as Pestilence. Don't let his childlike appearance confuse you. If you've ever looked at the lighthouse stairs? That was him. Our destroyed town? Also him. If you ever got stomped by a giant white Hell Pony? This guy right here."

Robert kept his mouth shut when Clarice berated him for picking Reine up - mental note, Clarice was a creeper - if only because the idea of being in a petite female golem didn't necessarily sound bad to Robert.. he had yet to even get a female golem yet. He wouldn't have minded carting around that set that Otto had been blessed with last mission.

But, wisely (for once) he kept his mouth shut. Clearly, Clarice was on the rag. Robert knew better than to piss her off now.

You're such a gentleman. Jezebel muttered sarcastically. It made his lips twist in a half-smirk, but he wiped it off his face before Clarice could take it as a challenge.

And suddenly Petra had new, significant respect for Clarice.

Just as Robert had entered the room almost soundlessly, so had the moon hunter in training, although surprisingly not at the same time as the larger man. She'd taken a few minutes to look around the room, as she normally did, but unfortunately, with the exception of her fiance and dearest sister, the other trainees weren't very well known to her. Not surprising, but certainly a little off putting -- she wasn't one to socialize, which did put her quite a bit backward in the 'getting to know you' stage of things. Which was quite crucial in... well... getting to know people. So, naturally, she had stayed where she was, mingling yet completely separate, as per usual, listening to the others talk with mild interest. However, with the exception of Clarice's snappy comeback to Robert's comment, nothing really grabbed her attention. Instead, she let her eyes drift to their subject, which surprisingly was mostly being ignored at this point.

She saw no point in keeping it that way.

"Subject."

It sounded clinical. She liked clinical, especially when it came to anything inhuman. However, the horseman seemed infuriated, and while normally she would have cared little to not at all about whether he was happy or not, in this instance, it was beneficial for him to not be as such.

"Conquest," she amended after a thought. Tilting her head slightly to the side, she regarded the horseman with an almost-intrigued look, her eyes taking in his lavish outfit.

GUESS WHO WAS LATE?

THIS GUY.

Otto had received the text, and fully intended on being punctual, however, it had come to him while he was napping. In his fuzzy mindedness, he mistook it for an alarm clock and chucked the phone across the room.

His senses followed much later.

After hurrying to get dressed, having realizing his mistake, the trainee ran to the designated spot. He skidded to a stop outside, then walked calmly inside as if nothing was wrong, sliding up beside Eva.

Yep. Been here all along~.

He caught the tail end of Clarice's briefing. Something about a stomping Hell Pony. Fancy~.
