Mot didn't look so good.

He looked rather ravaged, tired, with minor burns touching his skin. Like he really needed to feel that kind of pain again. Somehow though, this was worse. He'd felt his entire body burn to the bone.

Mot's pace grew slower and slower to the closer he got to the Reaper dorms. He'd left the Nurse's office almost immediately after having reformed. He was tired, sore and disoriented. He only had one thing he concentrated on out of all the lament that floated around in his head; make sure Hel is safe.

Why he thought she'd be in danger was irrelevant. There was no telling if she had been in the group that went after Caelius, or if there had been another attack he didn't know about. For one reason or another, he was worried.

He managed to drag himself up the stairwells, down the hall and outside Hel's door. He lifted a raw hand to the door, lightly tapping it to get the occupants attention. After that, his head thudded on the door, resting there and staring at the ground.

So dizzy...

It was rather anti-climatic really. Where had Hel been for a good portion of the day? In her room. Sleeping.

The reaper had been putting her nose to the grind stone since her return from home. Training. She was carrying rocks back and forth in the exercise she learned from Jericho, she was shadow boxing, doing pushups, running, working with her spear…you name it. Hel was pushing herself…she was aching, and to top it off, her appetite wasn’t as it usually was. So when the urge to sleep came on after a particularly exhausting day, it hit her hard.

It wasn’t the tap that made her sit straight up out of bed, it was the thump.

There’d be some shuffling on the other side of Hel’s door, the sound of her door being unlocked, and then a rather disheveled ghoul appearing as the door swung open. Hel’s hair was a mess because it was unbound, she was in her sleep clothes, and her expression was lidded, as it clearly shown she had just woken up, barely coherent, until she took a moment to get a good look at her visitor.

Hel blinked.

She blinked again.

“…Mot!” She cried out after a moment, her eyes wide now. “What in Jack’s name happened!?”

Relief washed over Mot as he heard movement inside. He knew she was okay. It was just nice to have confirmation. He lifted his head away from the door upon hearing Hel begin unlocking it.

He wasn't sure if he'd ever seen her look so disheveled, but it made her look kind of cute.

"We're not safe here." Mot muttered, the weight of the day taking away that small shred of relief he had felt. "Amity, Halloween. It's not safe."

Hel’s hands reached up, hovering around the reaper uncertainly. She looked like she wanted to touch him, but the way he appeared made her hesitate. What if she ended up causing him pain? Hel’s brows furrowed as she debated still, and eventually she reached out to tenderly take him by one of his elbows, and tried to guide him in to her room.

“…Not…safe?” Hel echoed. Granted, she kind of had this idea from the meeting they had in the co-ed rest rooms, where they learned that false reapers could be among them…”Mot…what happened?”

Mot's skin was sensitive and raw, but not so much he couldn't handle a gentle guidance. It wasn't nearly as bad as his face had been. Too bad it was most of his body and not just his face.

"We were ambushed." Mot explained, the images he'd seen flashing every time he attempted to blink. "There was a figure by the gym, cloaked in red. He abducted Shehk, we gave chase." His brows furrowed as he tried to think back to the beginning.

"We were led into a trap. Shehk had been the bait. We split up. Some ran after the man in red, I and others remained to free students trapped..." His eyes lowered. "I was trapped. Several times." Every moment he'd been freed lasted barely a moment before another net came flying at him.
And then that strange trio of hunters, one of which had grabbed him by the hair and coo'd at him like some kind of pet. That b***h had hit Lizzy. Mot looked visibly angered by the memory.

"There was a barrier. It drained our Fear, as did the nets. We were left powerless before them... the hunters that wore the skin of Halloween denizens. I don't know what happened to the other group, but the man came back. It was that head of the hunters. The one that.." He grimaced, pointing at his eyes lazily. His hand fell back down, breathing out slowly. "I blacked out. When I came to, they were gone. The nets were gone. But... but then.." Mot's voice wavered, his hands clenching tightly.

He didn't even know that the Horsemen had been led away by Caelius.

"Something..exploded and... Lizzy she..." He fought to speak with a semi even tone. "I watched her burn. Watched her die. All of us. Blue flames like the ones Red attacked with. The charred us black, split our skin apart until we dissipated. It was fairly quick, I suppose..." His voice was shaking, trying his best to explain it all. "W-when I woke, I was in Nurse Cricket's office and... so many students... a-and Riley she...she..."

Hel seemed relieved that he didn’t seem bothered by this, so she led him in to her room, closing the door behind him. The ghoul then led him over to her unmade bed, gesturing for him to take a seat while she listened to him inform her about what happened. She…she had missed all of this? If Mot felt low…Hel was joining him in the depths now. She’d been so caught up in her own matters…she slept the day away…and…all that…

The valkyrie felt cold now, staring at Mot with a forlorn expression. Why hadn’t she been there? Granted, it would not had made a difference, this she knew deep down, but still. “…I am so sorry, friend.” The reaper murmured softly, a dark hand slowly reaching up to rest on the top of Mot’s head in what she hoped was a comforting gesture. She didn’t want to risk hurting him still, so it seemed like the best option. She rested her hand there for a moment before withdrawing it, and made a motion for him to stay there. “…All the others…they are also in the Nurse’s office now…yes?” She hoped.

The reaper made her way over to the kitchen, pulling out two mugs and pouring them with some apple cider…though this time she left them chilled. Hel then returned, taking a seat on the edge of her bed as she offered a mug to him.

The gesture was appreciated. Mot didn't feel quite so empty as Hel laid a hand on his head, the warmth of someone else bringing him a little comfort.

He sat on her bed, patiently waiting as she came back with a cold drink. He took the mug, holding it with both hands as he stared down into the liquid.

"I suppose.." Mot said softly. "I.. didn't stay. The moment I awoke.. I left." He hadn't waited for treatment, for his friends to reform. "I didn't want to be a bother. There were just.. so many students to be seen to."

Even as Hel settled next to Mot, the ghoul seemed restless. She had to do…something. Anything. As she listened to him, taking a sip of her drink, she looked over his injuries. While she could commend Mot’s line of thinking for not staying at the Nurse’s office, it was still apparent he needed some kind of attention…which she could help with. With that in mind, Hel set her mug down on her nightstand and slipped off of her bed, padding away to her bathroom and riffling around in there for a few moments before returning with another container of aloe and a large amount of gauze wraps.

I’ll take care of you, Mot.” Hel murmured, climbing up onto her bed once more and placing the items in front of her. “Where ever you are burned the worst…it needs to be uncovered.”

Mot watched as Hel moved to get up, then back down at his mug, taking a sip of the cider. The cold drink felt good going down his throat. Anything opposite of flames was wonderful, really. He'd eaten enough of them for the day.

His head lifted when she returned, blinking and looking down at his clothes. Holes here and there from where his Fear failed to reform, dirty from the ordeal. Just how much of him had been hurt, though?

His eyes fell on his legs, most covered by leather chaps, however... He prayed to Jack his thighs were okay, lest he have to strip down to his boxers in front of a ghoul.
He took another sip of his drink before setting it aside, abiding to Hel's request. He started removing his hat, poncho, vest, shirt. All piled on the bed. That's as much skin as he would allow.

He shivered from the sudden lack of layers, shaking his head.

Somehow, things looked so normal in Hel's room. Quiet, peaceful. But he knew that was a lie. This place wasn't safe. Nowhere was, and this day had taken away his sense of security. He felt on edge, yet too tired to move about to do anything about it.
His expression spoke wonders about his state of being, sullen, downtrodden. He knew it wasn't his fault, he knew he nor anyone else could have stood a chance. But then who did? Were they doomed to be hunted forever?

Maybe he should start locking his door...

Hel was rather surprised that Mot didn’t put up any resistance to shedding some layers…and that was a clear indicator of how worn down he felt. It just saddened her further. While she wasn’t trying to gawk at him while he undressed, she wasn’t looking away either. Dual toned eyed roamed his pale skin anxiously, trying to gauge the extent of the damage. She decided she’d start on his back first, and shifting closer until her knees were lightly touching him. Hel then unscrewed the cap to the aloe, and dipped her hands into it, applying a healthy amount as she stared at his back. Okay…hopefully this wouldn’t hurt him…the aloe was cool and soothing, but these seemed a bit worse than his face burns.

The reaper’s hands lightly came to rest on his shoulder blades, and she gently held them there for a moment before starting to rub the large helping of aloe into his skin. Hel was silent as she did this for the time being, thinking, before she finally started to speak up. “…This is war, Mot…while we’re not safe here anymore…the same could be said of anywhere. No where is safe…and if no one else is going to do anything about it…then we have to. We can not sit and lament…we must do all that we can, until we can not anymore.”

Mot flinched slightly as she started to rub in the aloe, mostly because of the temperature difference. It soothed more than it irritated, and he settled eventually. He let his eyes close a moment, relaxing his shoulders, the feeling of He's hands on his back calming him down. He wasn't as on edge, yet his heart wouldn't stop beating like a drum.

Her words made him flinch again. It was the hard truth. He expected the be brought back down by Hel, she usually did. It wasn't always what he wanted, but it was usually what he needed. "Never give up, right?" Mot added, opening his eyes and staring down at his lap.

"I know.. sometimes I get so caught up in my own little dream land, I forget."

He didn't want to talk about it anymore. The images were coming back, making him feel sick all over again. He brought a hand to his forehead, making a noise of discomfort. "Uh.. anyway.. how is training coming along?"

Hel rubbed the aloe into his shoulder blades, dipped her hands back into the container, and then placed them once more on his back, getting some on the base of his neck before gently sweeping down the rest of it. At Mot’s words, a small smile tugged at Hel’s lips. “Right.” She whole heartedly agreed. “Mot…you’ve only truly lost when you have given up. So you get knocked down…so we’re all knocked down…it’s when we stay down that the false reapers have won.” She chuckled softly. “I know. That’s why I’m here to remind you.”

The ghoul finished applying the aloe to his back, and then raised his left arm gently by the elbow so that she could apply aloe there as well. As her hand went over his shoulder, it backtracked, her fingers lightly tracing the scar there curiously before moving on down his arm. As the reaper wanted to shift the conversation away from that topic, Hel let him. “Heh…I am not sure if that’s something I want to divulge, eh? You will be my opponent after all.” She was lightly teasing. “…It goes…” Hel grimaced, not that Mot could see it unless he turned his head, but her tone suggested a bit of annoyance. “I suppose…maybe I’ve been pushing myself too much. I only woke up when you knocked on my door…that’s unacceptable.”

That was the funny thing about Hel; she always had a way of keeping him from slacking or giving up. Had she not been there to kick him in the butt, he would have hid in his room the rest of the school year. No matter how hard it was to keep going, Hel gave him a reason to keep at it. "Right. Thanks." He aid with a light chuckle.

Mot couldn't help but notice Hel paid some attention to the scar on his shoulder, the way she had traced her fingers on it. He had gotten rather used to it, and forgot no one had ever seen it before. He gestured to it carelessly. "From a spar, before the field trip." He informed.

"Only just now? Well, at least you're resting in between. That's fine." Mot said with a laugh. Still, she had sounded a little annoyed. Maybe it was going well? That reminded him of something Roch had said after battling him. That Hel should speak of her crush only when she was ready. That however, would be going back on the bet. He knew Hel's answer to that; no going back on a bet. If he had to confess, so did she.

Maybe he was a little bitter.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 30, 2011 2:45 pm

You’re welcome.” Hel murmured in reply, finishing up that arm and then gently picking up his other one to apply aloe there as well. “Ah…I see. Who did you spar against?” She asked curiously, finishing up that arm as well and then sliding off of the bed with the container. The ghoul moved around to Mot’s front, and then sat in front of him, shifting until she was relatively close and dipped her hands into the aloe once more.

Meh…” Hel replied with a half shrug, reaching out to place her hands on his chest, working on applying the aloe to his front now. Oh my…if this wasn’t to help his burns, this would look really wrong right now, wouldn’t it? To Hel’s credit, her face was remaining rather professional as well too. Her lips were pulled a bit down, and her brows were lightly furrowed in concentration. “How is your training going?”

"Shun." He replied. "It was a really close battle. Very close. But he won in the end."

As Hel moved to his front, Mot couldn't help but feel slightly self conscience. A ghoul was rubbing his skin right in front of him. While the act itself was innocent, it was intimate enough to bother him. He kept his gaze away from her, off to the side or up. Anywhere but on Hel. Maybe if he was a buff kind of boil it would be different, he thought. Hel grew up with men that towered and bulged. In comparison? Tree branches could put Mot's physique to shame. He must seem such an oddity to her.

"Fairly well. I battled Roch, aside from solo training." Mot smirked proudly as he gazed at a wall. "I mopped the floor with him." He had also discovered his Fear had evolved. Should he tell her his weapon had changed?

Hmm~

Perhaps he'd surprise her.
