{It's cold in the desert.}: an rp between Souppi (Tenko72) and Gramtaro (xKOVAKtheWOLFx) Glade:: Veralsidine Mountains Setting:: Morning. Dry and cold - around 30 degrees Fahrenheit. No wind. There's hard packed snow on the ground and underneath it, there's slippery ice. The only greenery around is pine trees and the lichen on stones.

Brr... The green and decorated red circinus watched as the snow covered the path. "Drat!" he shouted aloud thinking no creature was around. "How am I to find my way out of here?" The gladier remembered why he was here now - he was running away from Flyterion Glades.
The fur on him was turning dry, filled with small icicles. This was absolutely not the weather for him to be out, but still he was here. "Hello?" he called out listening for any sign of life around.

Souppi didn't want to stay here long. He was just passing through on his way to the Flyterion Glades. According to his map, this was the fastest way to get there. He had never taken this route with his older brother, but now that he was here, he could see why. It had a foreboding atmosphere.
He had heard a lot of horrible stories about this place. There was the one about an ice serpent that guarded a horde of treasure and another about a fairy that kidnapped kits and never let them go. Those are just stories grown-ups tell to scare kids away. Souppi thought. Still, he shivered - and not just from the cold - and he jumped at the slightest thing.
He heard a voice. A normal voice. Not at all the cry of a monster. He answered back. "Hello! Where are you? I can hear you, but I can't see you. I'm over here with these flowers." He picked one. When he did, he could feel that it wasn't soft and delicate like a flower. It was hard, brittle, and shattered when he touched it. He was puzzled."At least, I think they're flowers."

Gramtaro wasn't sure where he heard the voice, but he followed his instincts - smell. He removed the scents of the snow, trees, air, and concentrated on the smells of fur and flowers. Just great.. To think I may be getting more lost. Possibly following just a simple mirage because I think someone's there when it's one of the typical mind tricks. He thought but still determined. The snow was falling harder the more he traveled, the closer he was to the voice he heard. To check his location, he shouted. "Is my voice louder now?" He soon saw a frozen patch of flowers, but no one was there.

"Yes!" Souppi thought it sounded like this other gladier was right on top of him, but he couldn't see him, yet. When he stepped forward, he could see the other one - he was big and green - through the snow. He was so happy that he wasn't all alone here. "I can see you now too!" But he wasn't acting like he could see Souppi, yet. Then again, Souppi was short and might have even blended in here. He flailed around to make himself more visible. Nothing else should be moving around here, right?

Gramtaro stepped back, realizing that he was about to step on the other Glaider if he didn't move. "My apologizes." he said apologetically. "But what are you doing out here, and alone?" To him, the black and blue creature looked rather young to be away from his family. "Well anyways, would you like to travel with me for a while until we're out of this storm? Seems safer than how we were before." He too heard of the stores around the area, and believed of them to be plain myths.

"I was on my way to my sister's in Flyterion. Then, I got lost." After he said that, he realized that sounded worse out-loud than in his head. Losing your way didn't seem like a mature thing to do at all. "I mean, I'm not really lost. I know where I am. It's just that I've never been here before."
Souppi was glad when he asked if he wanted to come with him. He agreed that it sounded much less dangerous. He bowed. "Thank you, sir. I'd like that."

He chuckled. "Sureeee. You're not lost, but never been here before. Tell me, how do you know the area without being here before?" He was aware of what he just said might have been rude. "Sorry if what I said might have offended you." he said.
He shuddered. "Alright. To Flyterion we go." He then mutttered, "Though I was just there."

Souppi didn't like his sarcastic tone. He was just getting a taste of his own medicine. After all, he was that way, himself. "All is forgiven. Anyway, I know because of this." He took his map and set it down in between them. "This is where I was." He pointed to the spot labeled Wysteria Forest. "And I went in this direction." He traced a line on the path with his paw and stopped on the part that said Veralsidine Mountains. "So, I should be here now."
He didn't hear everything he said next, but he knew it was rude to talk under your breath. If it wasn't for the fact that he was being so nice to escort Souppi, even though it seemed out his way, Souppi would've brought it up. Instead, he just grinned and bore it. He laughed nervously and said, "Thank you so much."

He seemed interest in the map, for this was his first time actually reading something. Frowning, he gently spoke, "Yes, that's exactly where we are. So you believe what a map tells you huh? I was never educated myself so I tend to just follow my nose around the place." Taking the stranger's thanks by surprise, Gramtaro nodded.

Souppi was too young to understand everything Gramtaro had said. His expression and the tone of his voice made that clear to Souppi. He had grown up surrounded by a lot of gladiers who were willing to teach him everything they knew, so how could he? He felt he had to answer what he did, though. "I trust who gave it to me." Then, he looked up and looked Gramtaro in the eyes. "Now, I'm putting my trust in you."

Gramtaro nodded. "Well said." Never had someone relied on him, and now this was his chance. He walked a little, just passed the patch of clovers they were on. "Ready?" he asked turning back to see if the younger one would follow.

Souppi smiled and said, "I'm ready." After that, he walked behind Gramtaro - the ice plants cracked beneath his feet - and followed him.

Gramtaro smiled happily knowing that he was no longer going to be alone, well for a while. He enjoyed this feeling. A feeling he'd never felt before. Ahhh.... So this is what companionship feels like. he thought to himself. What a great feeling this must be.
Trying to not just speak to himself, he slowed down his pace so that Souppi would be able to catch up. "So, after you reach your sister," he needed something to about for he did not enjoy this silence in the cold. "Your sister, does she know you're going to visit her?" He looked around while he spoke, but would usually look at the smaller creature occasionally to make sure that he was still in sight. I won't fail you young one. he vowed, a silent promise he gave.

Souppi felt all warm and fuzzy inside. He was glad he wouldn't have to travel all the way there by himself. He wasn't afraid anymore.
He followed in Gramtaro's footsteps, so he didn't have to worry about getting his legs stuck in the snow. It was like a path had been made for him already. It helped him move faster too.
After he listened to Gramtaro's first question, he answered, "She doesn't. But she's used to my brother and I popping in. Sometimes, she gets mad at him and says he should tell her beforehand, but then he says it's a brother's duty to check up on his sister like that." Then, he stopped and laughed. "This one time, he called her a hippo or something, because she does the same thing." He found the idea of a hippopotamus gladier hilarious. "They say weird things sometimes, but that's normal, right?"
