Hel flipped one of her longer braids over her shoulder as she stood outside the reaper dorms, waiting on her…’fake date’.
It was an agreement between friends that they should definitely hang out again after they returned from their respective breaks after passing their Year Two exams. The valkyrie could definitely agree that hanging out with Roch was a nice way to temporarily take her mind off of current events. Like…all the training she had immersed herself in for her upcoming battle with Mot. Hel sighed. Yes…a temporary distraction from that would be nice. Thus she waited, her crossing her arms now as she stared out over the campus grounds.

"Yo!" Roch said, suddenly appearing behind her. The boil looked a bit beat up, with a bruise on his forehead and a slight limp when he moved forward a step. "I came up with a great idea for our date!" he told her.
"First there's this little cafe where there's a jazz singer working, they got great burgers," he said, draping an arm over her shoulders and tugging her forward. "Then we're gonna go to this place I found the other day, it's AWESOME, they've got everything a guy or ghoul could want in a date, if you ask me! And--"
He leaned down, his mouth next to her ear. "I'm jackin' limping, and it's all Jove and Mot's fault, so you get to be my crutch for this. Sorry, but I blame Mot's aiming at my legs over and over again on you," he whispered. It looked quite intimate from a distance.

A window overlooking the front of the reaper dorms had been taken up by Mot, over looking the grounds. He'd been there for a while, mostly to people watch. He had been on his way out to train some more, and got caught up when he saw Hel down below. Waiting. Why was she waiting? For who? He couldn't look away. Then the person she was waiting for came into view. Roch. So he had been right after all? They fancied each other for certain. His stomach clenched as he wrapped an arm around her. Why was he so jealous of Roch? Why? The final kicker was the way he leaned in. What had he just done? Was it.. a kiss? Or a whisper of affection as they walked away? Mot clutched his stomach, wondering why it felt so wrong. A sudden compulsion came over him, and before he could understand it, he was running for his bedroom. His door slammed, clothes flew off, and the reaper ripped open drawers to his dresser, searching for clothes that looked nothing like what he usually wore. By the time he was done, he was in what he wore on laundry day, and he was out the door, running to catch up with the so called couple. Not to meet them, no. He was on a mission to stalk. Hiding behind trees and bushes any time he was too close.

"...Mot, what are you doing?"
Xiu had been on her way to the maul when she noticed a familiar (and much too tall) figure ducking behind one of the bushes. At first, she brushed it off as a random student doing...something, but as she got closer, she realized that she knew this person. So she did the most logical thing: she walked up right behind him and asked him what he was doing.
He was dressed differently today, she noticed, but then again, so was she. She had a simple red and black-ribbon dress on today, and her hair was tied into a low side ponytail. To top it all off, she was wearing a hat that--along with her hair--conveniently helped cover up her uniquely shaped ears. She hadn't worn the hat with that intention--it just happened.
"What are you looking at?" Crouching down, Xiu joined him behind the bush, peeking out to find out what he was watching so intently. Her brows shot up at the two figures that were walking away together--was that Hel and Roch?
...
Hmmm. Xiu's gaze slid back up to Mot. Was he...?

“Hey there, friend.” Hel greeted, turning to face the boil a bit, and raising a brow at his condition. She looked concerned, and was about to ask what happened until he started to speak more. “Oh…uh…alright….” Hel blinked once more as Roch wrapped an arm around her shoulders but didn’t fight it, and instead went along with him, listening to him more. The ghoul tilted her head to the side when the punk reaper whispered into her ear, a startled expression crossing her face. “Jove and Mot’s?” She echoed. “…Did you battle them?” The valkyrie questioned curiously, more so about Mot than about the pup. “Heh…blaming me, eh? How did this come about?”
As they walked along, the ghoul reached out to wrap an arm around his waist as well, to help keep him steady. “You know, Roch, I could carry you if that’s easier on you.” She was also very unaware they had…company.

"Nah, this is fine, it's a bit of a walk to town," he told her. "Besides, this way if I run into certain people they won't realize how jacked up I am right now. They'll just think I'm on a date with a good friend." And they looked it, his arms over her shoulders, her arm around his waist. They looked even more than just "friends" as they headed down the path that left the campus.
"So first of all, Jove drops down and turns into this little fluffy DOG," Roch went on, shaking his head. "Less than a foot tall. And I'm all 'Are you SURE you wanna do it in that form?' but he's positive--the little punk can BITE!" he told her, grinning. "He got my dominant hand, though," he complained, holding up the bandaged right hand to show her. "Then, near the end, he scared the piss out of me, Hel! He changes into this freakin' monster dog and takes a massive BITE out of my thigh."

Why was her arm around his waist? Why was her---
"AAH!" Mot yelped, cupping a hand over his mouth and turning to see Xiu. What was she doing here? His gaze stayed on her as she watched Hel and Roch, averting his eyes after a moment. "W-well..." He rubbed his neck, moving from his current position to another nearby tree.
"I uh... I don't know why but I'm following them."

Ooh? A sneaking mission! The Love Squad missions (or well, that one that they had taken up) had taught her a lot about being sneaky (only not really). Unfortunately, she didn't think to bring out her fake mustache today, but...
"Need company?" The baku piped up suddenly, trotting after him--wide-eyed and tail wagging--like a puppy when he moved to hide behind another tree. A part of her just wanted to practice her sneaking technique, but the main reason she wanted to accompany Mot was because she was concerned. The cowboil's demeanor confused her, and she studied his expression carefully. Was he...? But didn't he like...?
Hmmm.
Pulling her hat down over her ears, she skittered forward and ducked behind another tree, trying to catch any scraps of the conversation between Hel and Roch.

“Ah…alright…if you’re certain…” If Roch wanted to stay like this, then that was fine. She’d make sure he stayed upright!
The reaper listened to Roch explain his battle with Jove, nodding her head. She wasn’t aware that the pup could turn into a small dog, but the only encounters she had with him so far were in BruteBall tryouts and practice. Hel blinked as Roch showed her his hand, and then raised her brows as he told her about his leg. “Big things come in small packages, eh?” The valkyrie mused, and while she didn’t want to just glaze over that part, there was another part she was way more curious about. “So Roch…your battle with Mot…what happened?”

"He told me about the bet," Roch said with a dark look shot at her. "So he's training to beat you, and he trains by shooting me in the legs from a distance and running farther to KEEP that distance. He jackin' OWNED me," he muttered, his neck turning red.
He reached up with his free hand, rubbing the back of his neck. "And I blame it ALL on you, you know," he added quietly. "Who's stupid idea was that, anyway?"
So now something the Valkyrie had asked the Grim made him blush? Ohmai!

"Sure, actually." Mot had nothing to hide! Honestly! He was just on a regular, not suspicious stalking walk~.
The two of them must have been quite the sight to behold.
He watched from behind the tree, his expression turning painful as he saw Roch go red. Was.. Roch blushing. "What are they talking about.." Mot murmured to himself, shoulders hunching and lip pouting.
Why were they so cuddly?
This was a date, wasn't it. It was, surely.. so they really did fancy one another.
Still, Mot wasn't satisfied. Call it morbid curiosity, or perhaps he just strived to make himself more miserable, but he continued to follow the pair with his sidekick baku. "I thought he was joking when he said he'd go after her.."

"I can't hear them," Xiu admitted after straining her ears, pulling her gaze away from the pair so that she could look at Mot. She immediately frowned as she noticed the expression on the cowboil's face. He looked...upset? Or was she just imagining it? The baku stared at her friend in confusion, trying to puzzle the expression on his face when she realized that he was speaking again. Huh? What?
Roch? Going after Hel? Xiu's frown deepened as her mind immediately jumped to a certain conversation that she had overheard a while back. She opened her mouth to mention this aloud, but before the words could leave her lips, she suddenly clamped her mouth shut again. No...if she had interpreted what she had heard correctly, then it was a private matter that she had no right to mention. Besides, she hadn't gotten the chance to talk to Hel about it yet either.
She couldn't resist asking though: "Does it bother you?" She jerked her head lightly in the direction of the pair, indicating that she was referring to Roch and Hel together. The blushing, the touching--it all seemed pretty intimate to her, and so she was trying to gauge Mot's feelings upon seeing this.

At Roch’s dark look, Hel’s face made an ‘Oh’ expression. As he went on to describe what happened though, the valkyrie couldn’t help but looked impressed. “…Heh. He must really want to win then…I have to say, I think I’m flattered that he’s putting so much effort into training for this battle against me.” A brief smile pulled at Hel’s lips before it faded. “…Ah…but I am sorry for you, friend! It seems he roughed you up, yes? That running away may work on a wingless opponent, but if he wants to take me out at the weak spot…he’ll have to shoot my wings.” The valkyrie mused. Oops…she got caught up in specifics again and not sympathizing with Roch’s injuries.
The reaper chuckled dryly. “Blame it all on me, eh? You might have to blame us both…you see, we agreed that we should start making bets to help motivate Mot with training and battling…so Mot’s first bet was to see me wear dresses for an entire week if he won. I countered that if I won, he would have to grab my chest once a day for an entire week. Mot looked like he was about to back out…so I offered up an ultimatum I was sure he wouldn’t take…but he did. If I win, he is to tell Lizzy that he likes her…and if he wins, I am to tell him who I like. Now here we are. Our battle is a little over a week away.”

Wait, the bet--that was--oh jack, it was his fault--he almost said something, then jerked, looking at her incredulously as something clicked in his mind. It was so shocking to the grim reaper that he yelped, "GRAB YOUR WHAT?" at her, where anyone could hear him. He quickly lowered his voice again, now red in the face as well as the neck.
"What the hell, Hel? You don't make bets over grabbing--" Errrr, waiiiit a minute. Hadn't he told Freya once-- "Well, anyway," he muttered. "Jack, we've got more in common than I thought," he admitted. Then he looked away, his shoulders shaking as he fought laughter. "Man I wish I coulda seen his face!"

Does it bother you?
Mot flinched, eyeing Xiu cautiously for a moment. "Y...yeah, a little. I know I should be happy for them but..." He turned his gaze back to the couple. A good friend would be happy. He cherished both of them. So why did it feel so wrong for them to be together?
"It's weird.."
His face paled at Roch's outburst. Grab her... oh my. If he was saying what he thought he was then... Mot turned red, a palm meeting his forehead. Did Hel make those kinds of bets with everyone? Was she asking Roch to grab her chest like she had to him?
. . .
Mot's stomach clenched uncomfortably. What kind of ghoul was she turning into? It was like growing a rack turned her into an exhibitionist.
