Starts with Conner as a kit.
Rp between Of The Epidemic and icy serenade
Each time a new chapter of their rp starts I will put
Chapter and the Number at the top.

Chapter 1

Lassie: *Belly against the ground ears back, she is stalking something. Though it's hard to tell what it is, as it is currently hidden like her by the tall grass she is in.*

Conner: -sitting in a hidden place in a tree, eyes looking about for whatever may be around as he is deciding to do some training on his own in observing his surroundings. ears flicker as he picks up on the sound of rustling grass, eyes looking about to try and pick up on where it is-

Lassie: *Stops and goes completely silent and still for a few moments, before bounding out of seemingly nowhere and lunging after a few birds flutter into the sky feathers going everywere. Once feathers and wings clear you can see the culprit sitting their with a smug look on her face. Ears pearked foward as she looks up at the birds.*

Conner: -eyes settling in a spot, certain that's where the rustling had been coming from. crouching down, the tip of his tail whipping back and forth as he waits and watches. as someone bounds up out of the grass it startles him quite a bit, though he'd never confess, claws digging into the branch to keep himself from slipping. managing to resituate himself he peers down, wondering what kind of creature was below-

Lassie: *Yawns wide before the wind blows the scent of the little fella in the tree towards her. Ears perk and she turns nose twitching slightly as she inhales the scent. Finally pushes herself into a standing position and follows the smell to the tree and looks up.* Well now, what's a little fellow like ya'self doin in a tree? If ya aren't careful ya could fall.

Conner: -watching her, ears laying back as she sniffs about, cursing under his breath as she caught his scent. pressing himself against the trunk of the tree as she came closer, standing up and looking right at him- I'm scouting. .. and I won't fall. -flexing his fingers, claws slowly showing-

Lassie: *Sits down and tilts her head slightly.* How do ya know ya won't fall? Ya sure ya won't? *Sniffs at him before yawning slightly, clearly not at all threatened by this little... furball.* Scoutin? May I ask what ya are scoutin for?

Conner: Because I won't. -he says without a doubt in his mind even though he had a near fall just a few minutes ago. the tip of his tail flicks in irritation as she sniffs at him, doing his best to refrain from swatting at her for it- It's for my training. I'm working on observation. -his eyes narrow as he looks her over, eyes focusing on her face then moving along her figure as he tries to figure out what she is-

Lassie: Uh uh. Alhright then. *Yawns wide now showing off rows of shapr teeth and a powerful jaw.* On observation huh? Cute. So whatcha training for? Ya know pup, battle isn't all it's cracked up to be. A little puff ball like you should be home with mom and playing out in the fields, not training. *Flops out*

Conner: -tail continuing to flick as he watches her, almost feeling insulted as she yawns though impressed by her teeth, giving a small snarl to show off his own fangs.. baby fangs. he comment made him snarl quietly- 'Cute'? .. I'm hardly cute. -he says in a most serious tone- Because I'm part Spartan and it's what I want to do. -his brow furrows, sitting up to back away from her slowly- I don't play.

Lassie: *Ears flick towards him in a lazy manner.* Nah, you are cute. All tiny ones are cute. If they weren't their mothers would kill them for being annoying. It's like an inborn defense tactic. *Snorts softly to herself.* You don't play? What a pity. You are gonna get old far to fast little one. Not everything is about training, I still play. Like... chasing birds, it has two purposes. Though I am sure you see it as nothing more than playing. *Flicks her tail.*

Conner: -scoffs, completely unamused at the comment, truly despising being called cute. flicking his ears forward then back again, he turns around, giving a small wriggle then hopping down from the branch, managing to stick his landing with a slight stumble- What good does playing do?

Lassie: *Gets up from her flopped out position as he jumps down to land on the ground not far from her.* Depends on the type of playing. Hide and seek for instance can teach one to mask themselves into their surroundings. Chasing anyone strengthens your muscles and makes you faster stronger. Stalking birds and other small animals teaches you to be quiet and stealthy. The list goes on and on.

The Next Day

Conner: -crouching down in the tall grass by the tree he had been 'scouting' in the day before, deciding to see if what that other Noodle he had met said was right.. about playing being useful in training. ears perked up to catch the sounds of near by birds chirping, his shoulders rolling and tail still as he gets ready to... chase them. with his ears flicking back and a wriggle of his backside he leaps out, trying to catch one of the birds and failing completely-

Lassie: *Is sitting downwind from the little pup and has been watching him for a good ten minutes. Amused as he is clearly playing and trying to stalk the poor birds which doesn't seem to be working very well for him. It's quite amusing honestly not that she is going to say anything just yet. She gets down and starts across the grass, slinking along on her belly to sneak up on the poor pup.* So whatcha doing? *Asks softly from like right behind him.*

Conner: -thumping his tail on the ground behind himself, clearly upset and disappointed in himself for failing at something that is supposed to be child's play. getting the feeling of something behind him, jumping ever so slightly at the voice.. the familiar voice from yesterday. turning his head slightly, speaking in a flat tone to try and hide the fact he was doing something he said he wouldn't- I was training.... -peering at her out of the corner of his eye-

Lassie: *Chuffs at him softly and gives a knowing look.* Of course you were dear. *Snorts softly and wags her tail gently ears perked forward as she sniffs at him fully now. As he wasn't this close before.* I told you playing could be useful

Conner: -turns himself about to be face to face, not believing in leaving ones' back open to anyone. with a stern expression he insists- I was training, I.. I don't play! -getting huffy and defensive. eyes widening as she sniffs at him, leaning back to get away from her nose- Why.. are you doing that? -with a flick of his tail he upset his balance, falling on his back. quickly, flustered and embarrassed he spins himself up off the ground and sits up right again... taking the chance to back away a good few inches-

Lassie: *Is laying down her paws crossed infront of her.* You were, of course. Little ones down play. No never. *Wags her tail amused with his cute little defensiveness.* Why am I doing what? Sniffing you? *Confusion corsses her face for a moment before she smiles once more.* Well that would be so I can key in on your scent no matter where it is or how old. Once I have your particular scent memorized I will always be able to recgonize it.

Conner: -he watches her warily, scoffing quietly- Not me.. and don't call me little! -not use to /anyone/ be as close as she had just gotten, momma and brother aside, he didn't quite know what to think of it, less enjoy the invasion of his personal space. after his recovery from his tumble her curled his tail around himself, brushing the dirt from it- .. My.. scent? -impressed, but doing his best not to show it he questions her- Why would you need to be able to track me?

Lassie: *Snorts* Of course, not at all little. How could I be so silly? *Is grining quite pleased as she finds this one highly amusing.* Yes your scent. *Blinks* Well, it's sort of part of my job. I'm a police/war dog. Part of my job is to track down those that are lossed or the enemy hide out. If you got lost or were kidnapped, I would have to track you down. Find and pick out your scent out of thousands.

Conner: -picking up on her tone he gives a pointed look, very unamused. though he wants to say something he keeps himself from doing so, deciding to at least try to listen as she mentions it being part of her job. .. 'dog.. that's what she is' he thought to himself, now knowing that pleased him slightly. as much as he wanted to make a remark about how he'd never get lost or kidnapped, the fact that she could do something like that was really starting to impress him. letting his eyes look off to the side he flicked his tail- Do.. you train?

Lassie: *She watches him with an amused grin. Her ears flick forward and she nods slowly eyeing him with this just knowing look.* I do train, quite often. That's what I was doing yesterday when you were in the tree. I wasn't actually trying to hurt the birds just get as close as possible.

Conner: -shifts himself on his feet slightly, ears flicking. he gives an off look, not quite caring for the look she was giving him back- ... You train.. a lot. -staring at her with a more intense look now, trying to decide something-

Lassie: *Snorts softly and nods* Yes, I train for hours a day. It's crucial for me to do so. People's lives depend on me being at the top of my game. I never slack off, I must be the best. That means a lot of training and taking care to stay on top of my game. I'm a war dog after all.

Conner: -continuing to watch her, sizing her up in a way as she speaks. sitting himself more upright and tall, his chin moving to be level with the ground- Train with me? -he says plainly, a very serious look on his face as his gaze doesn't break away-

Lassie: *Blinks at him in shock just a bit.* Train you? *Sits up to sit erect, her ears forward.* Well little pup... if you promise to be a good student, follow what I say... I'll train you.

Conner: -flicks the tip of his tail, slightly irritated as she seems to be so shocked after him being sincerely serious. as she started talking he gives and off look, not getting the 'pup' bit at all- As long as you're a good teacher and don't make me do irrelivant things I don't see a problem, but I won't make a promise. They are made to be broken.

Lassie: I've taught more pups than you can imagine little one. I will never make you do something irrelivant if I say do it, it's important in some way and you should snap to it. *Gets up and starts off* You are such a serious little one. *troting towards the woods.*

Conner: -the tip of his tail snaps back and forth, the way she called him 'little' and other such things really getting under his skin, but moreso for the fact that he is slightly smaller due to part of his heritage. when she starts to make her way to wherever she is wanting to go, he gets up and steps up next to her, trying to assert himself as an equal in this venture though he's learning from her-

Lassie: You said you wanted to be a scout right, that was your goal. So do you know how to track? *Looks down at him and smiles.* What's your name? If you don't tell me I will just have to keep calling you pup and I am sure you don't want that do you?

Conner: Yes. A scout, but I want to learn as much as I can about whatever I can. -ears flicking back, laying against his head as he has to confess not knowing how to do something- No.. I do not know how to track. -feeling her looking down at him, he peers up slightly to her then turns his full attention forward again- Conner.

Lassie: Ah, that is good. You have the drive to learn. *Stops as they enter the edge of the woods and nods.* I didn't figure you did but I would ask. *Sits* Alright Conner, I'm Lassie. It's a pleasure. *Looks out.* There are many ways to track, by smell, footprints, and distrubances in the bush. *Inhales deep* What do you smell?

Conner: -pleased with her comment, almost close to hinting at a small smile, he sits down beside her as she stops and sits. he peers up to her as she introduces herself, not caring either way for the pleasantries himself, but nodding his head in response. he listens as she starts to tell him about tracking, tail swishing over the ground behind him. following her lead he inhales as well- ... Grass, leafs, and soil

Lassie: *Inhales again and nods.* Good, good, that is all around you, but what else. There is more than just that out there. What else can you smell? *Wags her tail slightly.* There is more than just that out there. Smell again.

Lassie: *Inhales again and nods.* Good, good, that is all around you, but what else. There is more than just that out there. What else can you smell? *Wags her tail slightly.* There is more than just that out there. Smell again.

Conner: -turns his head, watching her as she speaks. he raises a brow, giving an odd look for a moment, then with a hidden sigh he then takes in another deep breath in through his nose then lets it out slowly- ... I.. don't know. -giving a small frown, upset with himself-

Lassie: *Smiles slightly* It's alright Conner, it's your first time. You just need some pratice. *Gets up.* There is a river around here as well, I can smell water, and deer, there are rabbits close by, and birds above us. There is also another fox some ways off, but the smell is old and stale so it's probably long gone by now. *Looks down at him.* Come on, I'll take you closer to the deer so maybe you can smell them.

Conner: -not quite buying into the first time thing, but deciding to just keep quiet about it for now. he listens to all the different things, growing a bit shocked that she could rally smell all that, though.. not showing it of course. standing up as well he nods, ready to follow her, wanting to learn more-

Lassie: *Leads him through the underbrush and drops down to her belly to slink across the ground and threw the brush to poke her head between two bushes. Sure enough there is a river not but a few feet away and standing beside it are two deer.* Hmmm looks like a mother and baby. What do you think? *Looks down at Conner*

Conner: -follows along, but pauses for a moment as she drops down, wondering if she expects him to do the same. with a non-too-thrilled expression he lowers himself and creeps along behind her, poking his head out as she does. flicking his ears, looking out at the two deer, he then looks up to her- What is their smell?

Lassie: *Looks down at him in a bit of surprise.* Can you not smell it? The musky scent, the one that doesn't smell of the earth or the trees. The one that smells warm and inviting. Take a deep breath and tell me if you can smell it. You will know.

Conner: -turning his head slightly, a might annoyed- I have never smelled them before so I didn't know what their smell was. -he had picked up on it and a couple different things, but he wasn't sure what was what. plunking his aft end down he takes in another breath, trying to get a better sniff of the area-

Lassie: *Smiles* Alright, I didn't know relax Conner. Tell me when you can smell the difference between the soil the trees the deer and the water. When you can do that we will move on. *Sits up and wraps her tail around him.*

Conner: -bares his fangs for a moment in further irritation, hiding them quickly to avoid getting in trouble. flopping his tail on the ground a couple times before he closes his eyes and takes in another breath, this one more for calming down, followed by a second one as he tries to figure out what is what, hardly noticing her tail around him-

Lassie: *Is smiling down at him even though he can't see it. She is more than willing to wait calmly for him to figure it all out. She is in no rush.*
