Every month the small town of Westcraft finds a suitable sacrifice for the mighty dragon who lives in the mountains. Their sacrifices are often from their own town, but when travelers pass through the small village, they take the travelers in the night and use them instead of sacrificing their own people. This time, the weight of sacrifice falls upon the shoulders of a traveling Bard, but will this wily wanderer find a way to escape the dragon’s clutches? Will the dragon find this little snack a bit more annoying then usual? Or perhaps, just perhaps, the Bard won't want to escape, and perhaps, just perhaps, the dragon will find more then just a snack in this dashing fellow...

The DragonGaianame: Lucky Name: Kelarias'sethar Bik'are'rika Guarden'salath (Kelarias, Kel or Aria to those who actually talk to her) Age: 400 as a rough guess. She loses track of time easily. Race: Dragon Personality: Depends on the day and when she last fed. Like any female, she has violent mood swings at times. Usually, when well fed, she'd calm and thoughtful. She likes learning new things. She does had a temper though and hates being wrong. Bio: Kelarias was born in the mountains on her own, the only egg to survive a vicious attack on the den. Alone and frightened, she moved through the mountains, slowly learning to hunt and survive. When she first stumbled on a village, she found the humans easy prey - Something she needed dearly. She began her taste for humans. Now, centuries later, she is a competent hunter and doesn't need to prey on the humans anymore. BUt she still likes the taste, so she worked out a deal with the village below the cliffs where she made her home. Once a month, they give her a human sacrifice. And in return, she does the rest of her hunting in the nearby mountains rather than in their flocks. She still prefers her cave home above the cliff though and always returns. She eats heavily, several large animals in each meal, but she only eats once a week or so. Appearance:
Other: Kelarias can take a human form when she wants to, thanks to her magic. The pendent she wears acts as a focus for her spells.

Edwin groaned slightly and blinked, looking around, "Huh, well, this is a new one." He muttered, examining the chains that held his wrists to a large slab of wood, he still had all of his clothing and equipment, a surprise since someone had bashed him across the head the previous night. Pain speared through his skull as if a reminder of that. He looked up and glanced around, his 'prison' was on top of a large, very open hill. There was no one around. No guards, that was odd. He grunted and shifted his right hand, smirking as a lock-pick slid out of his sleeve into his hand, "Now I just need a few minutes..." Sadly, he didn't have a few minutes.

I wanna be the very best To catch them is my real test
Like no one ever was To train them is my cause Kelarias glided over the hill, peering down at it. Oh good. Right on time. Her shadow darkened the hill for a second as she passed over it before turning around and coming back. She dove towards the flat hilltop, landing with surprising lightness for a creature of her size. Anyone who actually looked at the dragon (though few did), would realize she was female. Her body was smooth and sleek, with a rather feminine curve to her. She padded towards the human chained to the wood, snaking her head down to look at him. Her pale amber eyes held an amazingly intelligent look. She opened her jaw in what almost seemed like a grin, a long forked tongue snaking out to stroke the man's cheek, as if tasting him. She sat up onto her back legs, reaching out to grasp the man in one set of claws, the others slashing through the chains easily. Pushing with her back legs and wings, she leaped into the air, heading back towards her home caverns. Clickies please? You know you want to click the adorable pokemon on my farm

"Definitely different." Edwin muttered, looking in awe upon the magnificent creature that landed before him, though his eyes held no fear, a surprise to be certain, but only awe, excitement, and overwhelming wonder. Edwin had never seen a dragon, and this was certainly one of the more amazing of her kind. But a dragon! A real dragon! It was fantastic. Edwin barely even noticed getting carried off, simply staring at the creature the whole time.

I wanna be the very best To catch them is my real test
Like no one ever was To train them is my cause Kelarias glanced down at her snack as she flew. This one was surprisingly quiet. And it wasn't from passing out or being frozen in fear. This was different. He almost seemed happy, if that was possible. She gave a low rumble in her throat, laughing to herself. A human, happy to be carried away. What a notion. She sped towards the cliff wall, only to backwing suddenly, landing lightly on one of the many ledges that dotted it's face. She tossed the man carelessly into the cavern. It was large, large enough to easily accommodate her size and then some. The ground, though solid stone, had claw marks gouged into it, particularly around the entrance and at a shallow ditch near the back. It was a dead end cave though. The large room had no entrances. It was surprisingly clean and empty, save for the sand that lined the ditch at the back. Clickies please? You know you want to click the adorable pokemon on my farm

Edwin, always the performer, tumbled expertly as he was carelessly tossed, rolling and then hopping up to his feet. He had amazing reflexes. He glanced around, grinning broadly. A dragon lair!....Ok, so it was just a huge cave, not AS impressive as he expected, lots of gouge marks and animal bones, but no massive piles of treasure and loot. Two for three was still good odds though. He flicked away the shackles left on his arms with ease, letting them clatter across the stone. "Marvelous, simply marvelous." He muttered to himself, looking back up at his captor, examining her massive, majestic form, the way the light glinted off of her scales, the sharp, alien intelligence lurking behind her eyes....it was awe-inspiring. However, no matter how awe-inspiring Edwin was a man of manners. He swept into a deep bow, grinning brightly up at the dragon, "Hello! It is a pleasure to meet you! My name is Edwin Marius, traveling Bard and Adventurer, I am truly grateful to see such a powerful and mighty being as yourself! I am truly humbled by your presence!" Dragons were VERY intelligent, they all understood the common tongue, and most every other language as well.

Edwin waited only a few brief moments for a response, with none forthcoming, he continued, "Since you have brought me to your great home, I feel it only right that I pay you for the great gift you have bestowed upon me, sadly I have neither coin nor gems, however I do hope that you will accept another form of payment." He said, reaching behind him and pulling his fiddle down with a flourish, "I picked this one up from a rather cheerful group of Halflings, they always have great music you know." Edwin said with a wink, then began to play a song.

Edwin finished with a flourish and a bow, grinning brightly, "I do hope that was ample payment for bringing me to your lovely home, though I doubt it's enough to keep you from eating me, at least not yet, if you would, allow me to give you another tune from a rather upbeat town to the north-east called Irehill." He said, settling his fiddle more comfortably on his chin. The fiddle rippled slightly with faint magics, transformation magics, as the fiddle shifted into a well-crafted violin, it was a minor change, but enough, and that was certainly proven as he started to play his next tune.

I wanna be the very best To catch them is my real test
Like no one ever was To train them is my cause Kelarias hissed as she felt the magic. That, she was a little more wary of. But she quickly realized it was a weak magic, one that would brush right off her. Once more, her head began swaying in time to the music, her pale amber eyes focused on Edwin. When he'd finished, she parted her jaws in a fearsome smile, tapping her tail to imitate the clapping sound she'd heard villagers make. She rose and padded towards Edwin, using her jaws to pick him up by the back of his shirt with a delicacy that was surprising. Turning around, she walked to the edge of the cave and stepped off the edge. She opened one wing just enough to turn and glide into a different opening. This one looked much the same as the last one, but there was a large entrance at the back. It was through here that the dragon carried him. There, was the lair that was more what Edwin was expecting. Pile of gold and jewels, heaped just right, covered the immense cavern. Several hundred years of treasure hunting had paid off. She headed towards the back and set Edwin down on the floor. Kelarias dropped onto a bed of coins, rolling slightly to arrange them to her body. That done, she moved her head to stare at the human expectantly. Clickies please? From dinner to treasure, that was certainly an improvement, now time to put on a real show. Edwin bowed deeply and spin his violin with a flourish, "Truly an honor, oh mighty one, now, if you'll indulge me, a bit of magic to add to a truly entertaining performance." He said, his violin expanding and growing, shifting into a large cello that Edward adjusted next to him, then with a flick of his wrist and a simple word, his appearance mirrored to one side, then again, and a fourth time, leaving four clones of Edwin and his cello before Kelarias, they all bowed and grinned, it was a simple illusion, and it was easy to tell which one was the real one, but it wasn't about a distraction, he certainly couldn't escape, climbing down would take forever, and Kelarias would easily catch him if he tried. No, this was for the sound, and when the song began, it was certainly effective.
