Jove, if anything, looked both more ready and more unprepared for the battle ahead. His attitude was all LET'S DO IT, but his appearance... If anything he looked even worse than he did on his return to the school, from the fights and scuffles he had gotten into since.

He had been so happy when Roch invited him to a battle, usually it was the other way around, and most students seemed completely reluctant to beat up on such a small, helpless-looking student. And it would really be helping them both, Jove would get more experience, and Roch would get some more insight into how ghosts fought. Definitely a win win situation! Even if one of them ended up losing in the end.

With a little "I am so ready!" growl, Jove briefly disappeared into a pile of clothing, only to hop out and trot to take his place opposite the reaper. He was not even a single foot tall, fluff included, but his posture and perked ears spoke as if he was the biggest dog on campus.

Jove was sure.

He gave an excited little snarl, baring teeth that were sharp and needle-like on one side of his jaw, and in various stages of missing and regrowing on the other. Fighting in humanoid form was possible, but he had learned that his canine form was so much more natural. He had much more experience on four legs.

And he used it quite to his advantage as he darted forwards, quick as a tiny jackrabbit, and chomped on Roch's ankle. Right through the leather.

The little pup withstood only a little bit of bonking from the guitar before he let go, his little head feeling it from the assault. There was only so much padding his fluff could provide before being hit by a giant guitar started to hurt!

He wasn't done yet though, and with the energy that could only be possessed by a puppy or a hyperactive child, he had barely landed when he leaped again. This time he chomped at the back of Roch's heel, a remarkably vulnerable spot he recalled from his anatomy studies. Not only did those anatomy books come in handy for learning shape changing, but apparently they would also serve him well in battle!

For a moment Jove saw stars, and he was knocked free of Roch's heel. That guitar was like a club, wielded by a much larger opponent, but Jove was tough enough to take a little beating. He got up just as quickly as before, and leaped up to n** at the reaper's calf muscle before darting away. He wasn't going to make himself an easy target for that guitar club again!

The little pup SOARED through the air. It was quite a good shot, the wisp flew straight across the gym and struck the wall opposite, bouncing twice before rolling to a stop. And then he was once again on his feet.

That guitar really was something, he thought to himself. Perhaps it was safer letting Roch whack at him from close up, that time he had a good swing before the instrument actually struck. Keeping that in mind, Jove zipped forward, and darted around him to chomp at his other ankle.

Jove made a little wheezing noise as he was squashed under the edge of the guitar for a second. With all the fluff it was hard to tell where his real body was, or if he even had one under there, but it was clear that the attack was effective.

It had not been pleasant at all! But it was better than being sent flying, and Jove was close enough to dart behind Roch once again and n** at his other heel. The poor reaper would definitely be feeling it the next day.

Jove leaped off once again as he felt Roch smacking him with the guitar, this time lowering his head to give it a rub with one tiny paw once he was out of range. He was going to be completely black and blue by the time they were done!

The thought didn't deter the wisp one bit. He launched himself yet again, using Roch's own guitar as a step ladder as he zipped upward to give the boil's hand a good chomp. And there he dangled, grinning to the best of his ability.
