Name: Christian Scott "Rex" Vadnais Pronunciation: Kris-chan Scot Reks Vad-nay Gender: Male (and proud! wink ) Age: 25 Birthday: November 6th, 1980 Height: 6'2" Weight: 195 lbs Physical Build: Muscular and toned Skin Tone: Tan Eye Color: Pure Blue Hair Color: Blonde Tattoos: A tribal armband on his left bicep, a sun around his naval and a large cross on his back. Scars: Appendectomy scar Hometown: Oxnard, California Last Living-Space: An apartment in San Francisco Ex-Occupation: Waiter at a high class restaurant Likes: Surfing, hiking, lacrosse, God, sleep, partying, relaxing, debates, working out Dislikes: Close-minded people, being bored, war/fighting (to be conintued) Personality: Rex has a great personality and can be just the right ingredient to completement any mood. Unlike most guys, he's not exactly afraid to show his emotions or express how he feels. Yet he's typically a fun-loving kind of guy, always up for a good laugh. He's still recovering from the death of his fiance, Julie, and some of his depression still lurks in his heart. He has a rather long tolerance span and is incredibly patient when it comes to certain matters. But once he snaps, it's bad. A rare, but fierce temper can sometime get in the way. Otherwise he's rather calm. Rex is a good Christian, but doesn't prefer to show it. However if you watch him carefully, you'll see him whisper a silent prayer under his breath before eating or the like. The Good Lord turned his father's life around, who say's miracles can't happen. He is understanding and supportive, a good shoulder for the other sad islanders to lean on. Rex has a very determined soul. Anything that he starts, he MUST finish, or else he'll feel like something is unfinished in himself. It's this dedication that seems to have helped him through life so far.

Rex, he was called. No one really knew why his nickname was Rex, it just was. But his first name was Christian, his parents were actually really quite good Christians, that is.. until they got into their drug dealings and alchoholism. Their actions caused him to have to grow up in a low class society from a young age. Where at night he could hear gunshots outside his window and overwhelmed mothers screaming at their lazy husbands who forced them to get into this hell hole. Yeah, growing up wasnt so great. His parents' addictions didn't exactly help much either. He was bullied in elementary school and got C's and D's in most of his Junior High classes.
His mom died when he was 13, lung cancer, go figure. They couldn't afford any therapy to get rid of it all though, so they had to wait while the cancer shut down her system. Rex didn't care though, she was never there for him anyway, the kid seemed to be missing a soul or something. But this event was probably the best thing that could have happened to his father. It was the reality check that smacked him back in line, he began going back to church again and even entered himself in a rehab facility that'd take him in. However this meant that he couldn't care for Rex any more. So with one giant hunk of cash, he spent all of his savings on sending the boy off to one of the cheapest boarding school they could find in New England for 4 years at age 14. "Good luck, kid. You'll need it." were his father's last words to him as he boarded the plane. Rex hasn't spoken with his dad since.
The school was quite nice compared to his old house and it was an opportunity for Rex to really shine. His grades picked up through dedication and hard work, he began to actually be social, and in good time had a name for himself at the school. He could florish here, like a flower in the sunlight.
The school offered several sports classes for the year 'round boarders as well. Rock climbing, wind surfing, and back country snowboarding for example. At last something he could grasp onto and master, clearing his mind from all the pressures of school. All of his free time was in the gym or at the climbing wall, preparing his body for his continuos sports, such as lacrosse or gymnastics. Developing his body was only the next step in becoming his own independant person all by himself. He had, after all, nearly raised himself so far.
And Senior year it was all over when his eyes met the rain drop eyes of Julie Anawalt. She was beautiful, clever, and all that Rex could ever want. Apparently she felt the same way. Their love was pure and true, matched only by a prince and princess in some long lost fairy tale. After graduation they continued to keep in touch and continued seeing each other for a while. Rex managed to get an alright paying job in San Francisco, starting over from scratch. The couple moved in together in a small apartment in the city. That's when our man popped the question. She'd make the biggest mistake of her life if she said no.
Most people would think that getting married at a young age like 20 would be completely out of the question, but if you saw those two together you'd realize they were meant for each other. They saved for the wedding for ages! About a year and a half actually, it was hard to make a living, but they had each other and thats all that mattered to them. They were in love.
At last, one week before the wedding and Julie zoomed through the streets of a nearby town in the bay area, going to pick up her wedding dress from the tailor. She was running a little late, but going a just over the speed limit never hurt anyone... until now. A rather scraggled stray cat shot out in the road in front of her, she spooked and cranked the wheel, causing the car to roll several times before causing her passing.
When Rex heard the news he was utterly heart broken, and with good cause! She was the only true love he'd ever had and thought no one could replace her. He'd given up on life, love and happiness. Not finding joy in past things he pleasured in so much, like sports.
Now 4 years later some of his depression still floats on the suface of his heart, but he's mostly recovered and has make several attempts to move on. He took up his sporting again to help get over the stress, even doing things like a cruise in the Carribean. But that cruise would be his last as one night he found several guys wailing on Avery, he tried to break them up but Avery slid overboard. The other guys split, but Rex dove over in an attempt to save him. Then... the two washed up on the island.

Here I will post Rex's thoughts on the islanders who also live on the island. It will only express his current views on the person, not their whole history.
Avery Calder: Becoming somewhat of a little brother to Rex, he's playful with him and protective. Ian Campbell: A very friendly guy who is helpful, informative and caring. Rex and him could be great friends. Amaya Vaughan: Very sweet if not a bit shy, she however has a strong personality and could stand up against anyone. Colche Autumnale: Rex's adorable little naked girl. Every island needs one! Ambrose Maurlias: This man really knows how to say just the right thing. He's very sincere and helpful, they could be great friends. Antony Devereux: Attractive in her own way, a guy can't help but get a bit physical. Awen Zyn: Very sweet with quite a personality. Note to self: Don't game with her for a while. Lily Delaney: He doesn't know a whole lot about her, but he admires how relaxed she is about the island. Kim Nguyet: She was odd, but relatively nice and polite all the same. Aubrey Lockheart: The first Lab Tech Rex met. He finds it hard to believe that she had such little control in a high power position, but is gald that she goes to right the wrong. Angelina Swanson: Obviously Ambrose's girlfriend, she's pretty quiet and he doesn't exactly know enough about her to have a real opinion. Emerwyn Achenson: She's oddly quiet and seemed a little dazed. He shopes she's feeling alright. Joliette Rigiel: Informative and friendly, she's a kind woman. Zachary Bloodstone: He's.. awkward and obviously not aclimated to the island yet, hopefully he'll get better in time. Lauren Granger: Kind and attractive! They share some of the same interests and he can't wait to speak with her more. Billy Woodrow: A total sleaze and pretty dang oblivious. End of story.
