[PRP] The most awkward evening dinner (Sam, Brth, Cald, Sid)

The Gruesome Grill & Dungeon was a local restaurant in town famous for very raw burgers and a dark, sinister atmosphere that made it perfect for cozy family meals, or business meetings, or dates. This was a combination of the last two.

Barth was slightly late, but Christof had taken care of the reservations, and while not altogether keen on the dating thing (Barth doubted Christof would be keen at all on the...other thing), he was at least tolerating it.

Barth usually dressed like he had stepped out of the Victorian era, with a helping of tail coats and vests and cravats. This was technically an occasion fitted for evening wear, but he instead wore a scarf and sweater in a sort of defensive attempt to be casual and non-threatening.

He had rehearsed what he planned to say about a dozen times, and still felt like he could use all the help he could get.

Calder was waiting earlier as usual, but expected the wait. He stood outside the restaurant, waiting for his boilfirend and adjusting his outfit. He told him via text that they were going on a double date, and since he felt an obligation to be just as pretty to please Bath, he dressed up to match. He wore a black jacket, now open, a plaid scarf as it was a bit chill out, a dress shirt and a vest, only because it was a restaurant, and a solid green kilt. He brought his saddle bag with him that hung by his side, and wore his hair up high with fresh flowers.

When he saw Barth arriving, he was once against relieved and greeted him. "I thought I might have went to the wrong restaurant. I'm glad it's the right one." He had never been to a restaurant like this before, and was very excited to be socializing with another couple.

He offered his elbow for Barth to take, in case he needed to rest against something as they walked inside, and held the door open.

For Sammy the story was a bit different, Barth had offered to treat her to dinner, the two had been talking on and off since her last visit. Mostly discussing the fine points of political dating. Ultimately Barth had offered to treat her over some attempt to help her feel better about the whole Siddie situation. He warned her Calder would be along, mostly because of personal reasons but not to mind.

Sammy didn't; he was treating to Gruesome Grill & Dungeon, why would she object?

So she dress up slightly, black pants over her usual boots, a black jacket for once buttoned up but still rolled to the sleeves as she wandered over. She had never been personally so it was no shock when she showed up the same time as Barth waving to him and Calder.

"Hey guys. Sorry I would have been here sooner but it's my first time so... yea." She shrugged sheepishly, she really wasn't able to afford stuff like this on her allowenced income from school.

Barth took the offered arm, giving Calder an affectionate kiss on the cheek and wishing they could just...spend the rest of the evening walking to the door.

"Yes, you've got it right. Look, I do apologize, but there's err...this is a little bit of a date and mostly some business I've got to take care of. But I thought you should be here. Err. And that it should be somewhere public. So there isn't a row. Not from you but um, but I'm not sure about one of the other parties..." Barth cleared his throat. "In any case."

He unbent, slightly, to smell one of the flowers by Calder's ear, and said quietly, "I'm glad to have you here. Are these waterlilies?"

Sammy's wave and call got his attention, and he straightened, slightly embarrassed. "Yes, err, hello Sammy. No trouble. You're right on time."

Siddie had spent a good hour getting dressed - not because she was getting particularly fancy, but rather because she was more nervous about this evening than she'd ever been. She'd almost talked herself into layers and lace and ribbons, but ... she was not a doll, not a toy for others to manipulate, and it was time she stopped looking like one. So, ultimately, she'd settled on a simple skirt with a layer of cobweb lace, a long-sleeved dress with a trailing, tattered skirt, and a black bodice over it, with knee boots underneath. Her hair was pulled up into a twist at the back of her head, and overall she looked very little like the image she was used to seeing in the mirror.

She arrived slightly late - fashionably late, Barth would say - and was not surprised to see that the others were there before her. At the sight of Sammy, she slowed momentarily, her chest clenching tightly. She could still just go. They hadn't seen her.

No. She wasn't running away any more. Siddie held her head high, forced herself to take a deep breath, and crossed the street to join the little group entering the restaurant.

Calder flushed, touching one of the flowers in his hair. "Yeah. You like?" He asked, proud of his choice in flowers for the evening. If Barth liked them, he'd wear them more often and try out other flowers he might like. The boil was looking as handsome as ever and pulled no stops for the evening, and Calder wished for a moment that they had the evening to themselves, but he was far too excited about going to a restaurant to be too sour about it. He curled his elbow around Barth's, and was ready to open the door when a ghoul ran up.

Calder didn't exactly know who they would be double dating with, but when he saw Sammy, he was a bit on edge. They had fought once before in the demon dorms, and while the ghoul apologized, they hadn't talked since. He wondered if this was the person Barth was worried about, and wondered what business would be going on. As far as he knew, no one here was in Student Council, but then again, maybe it was an inventing thing. "Hi Sammy." He said, trying his best to be civil.

He then noticed another ghoul walking up to them, looking pretty in lace and boots. He had never seen her before, and it was almost hard to make her out with her all dark features. He waited only because he wasn't sure she was part of their party.

Sammy shuffled over tucking her hands gently into her jacket, she felt somewhat out of place seeing the two boils being so close. She missed that deep down. It was something she had grown fond of from Shehk, and even more so from Siddie whom she hadn't spoken to still since the fight. Slowly she made her way up to the two proper nodding to them both.

"Hey Calder. You look good, more dressed up then usual." She shrugged a bit, "So are we good then?" She still had no idea Siddie was walking up behind her, if anything the way she walked simply implied a mild sadness, while she seemed happy to be here her shoulders didn't seem to reflect it quiet so well.

She was fine with Calder, she wanted the food the company, the time away from school.

"They look good ...The flowers. Ah, one more still...hello, Siddie, glad you could make it. We should already have a table."

He knew Siddie and Sammy hadn't been exactly on talking terms, thus the group environment, but he hoped if they could just get inside maybe they could skip over the whole awkward introductions portion of the evening.

Siddie had to swallow again before she could reply, but when she did, her voice came out tolerably steady. "Thank you, Barth. It's good to see you all." She folded her hands in front of her to hide how badly they were shaking.

Calder didn't know what was going on, and smiled as Siddie arrived. She was a pretty thing, and he waved to her. "Hello Siddie. I'm Calder." He held Barth closely as he suggested a table was waiting for them. No point waiting outside and blocking the door for others. With that in mind, Calder opened the door for all of them to go inside, and followed behind with Barth on his arm. "This is nice."

Sammy nodded to Barth and froze in place when he spoke. She hadn't looked behind her but it was plain as day from Barth's lazy glance that Siddie was behind her now.

Slowly she turned hands stuffed in her pockets shaking just as much in fear, in some bit of depression. She could see that Siddie didn't seem to be completely here either.

"H-hey Sid." She paused realizing the name she had used to refer to the other ghoul. She shook it off though nodding to the door, "Y-yeah lets just get our seat." She didn't move beside Siddie, she didn't do much of anything but avert her eyes, but not before casting a glare on Barth that spoke of death till they found the ground again.

Siddie bit her lip and clenched her hands tighter together. She'd known that Sammy didn't want to be around her, of course, but it looked - it looked like Sammy was almost afraid of something. What could she possibly be afraid of? "Hi," she said, squeaking a little, and followed the other three into the restaurant.

Barth avoided the death glare entirely.

"Yes, good," he said, and being kept close to Calder (which he was grateful for) followed the waitress to their booth, and very calmly ordered a water with a twist of slime.

"...Drinks are on the back of the menu," he told Calder.

Calder was just left gawking, following the waitress to their booth and sliding up next to Barth, smiling over to the other two before looking at the menu they were given. He turned it about, noticing it opened up, and then felt a tad overwhelmed, He was glad Barth pointed out the drinks, and looked over them. "Uh..Can I have a Cherry Croak?" He asked the waitress, who smiled and nodded at him.

Calder then went to looking over the menu, but was interested in their guests. They seemed rather shy for a couple. "So, how long have you two know each other?"

Goal one, don't look at Siddie, don't yell at her, don't curse don't cry.

Goal two, figure out what the Jack Barth was plotting right now under her very nose.

Instead she was suddenly seated inside a booth between a wall and Siddie, Barth sitting across from her. Her eyes focused down on the table squeezing her hands and wringing them flipping the menu over a few times before looking at Barth muttering, "Pumpkin Grog. Can you?"

She paused looking towards Calder, "A while," was all she said.

"So... Barth... you invited me here no? Whats up...."
