ok so i got ME1 last week (and was disapointed to find it was only 1 disc) and had befriended Liara and Wrex even though my main party was Tali and Wrex (a very good party if your a vangaurd) i liked talking with Liara and hearing about Asari culture even the topic of lady benezia was always fun to listn to from time to time and im a little dense, so my first clue i was romancing her was that i kept getting new dialouge options and she was acting shy around my Femshep so when she said (i think it was along these lines "are you and kaiden just friends?" i said yes then she announced she had feeling for my shepard this hit my like a ton of bricks being thrown by a krogan who didnt get his way, and since im not as renegade as my shepard should be, i told my self i would stick to this and romance her. and a day or two later i was on my way to iilos when Liara walked in, i knew the romance cut scene was going to begin and unfortiantly for me. almost my entire family was in the room, i quickly took out the visual plug and listned to the scene hoping they wouldnt put two and two togethir, unfortinatly they did. i almost romance Thane in ME2 twice, i must be REALLY dense because this seems to keep happening i even had a love triangle with Jacob and Garrus before! dont even ask me how. i wish to know if im alone on this or there are other people who have accidentally romanced someone gonk

It's unfortunate that the Paragon options while chatting up a "romancable" character tends to be a response that leads to romance.

I haven't accidentally romanced anyone, but that's because I knew what I wanted beforehand and shot everyone else to the ground. rofl

Well, wait. I take that back. My Renegade male Shepard was romancing Liara, and he was quite the d**k to Ashley. So when they both came to Shepard for him to choose... I was like "Seriously? But I didn't pick any romance options for you, Ashely." Ah, hell. "I love it when two women fight over me." Yes, Renegade male is loving this. So, he ended up choosing Liara as intended, but only because the option of him wanting both totally disgusted Ashley. I'm still working through ME2 with this Shep, and I want him to stay faithful to Liara - as weird as that is for a Renegade... and I haven't yet come across the romance bits for the new characters. We'll see if he accidentally cheats. rofl

I've taken to not talking to any of the romance options in Mass Effect if I know I want to romance someone particular in a play through to ME2 or 3... I've pretty much heard all the lore so I don't miss much.

But the intent symbols in DA2 were so nice in regards to that. XD

Also is wrex smexible? Because a krogan randomly showing up attempting to smexy smex my femshep is something id like to avoid inless im going,for it

No, you can't actually smex 2 characters. xd

If you're romancing more than one, the ME1 characters will confront you together and make you choose. The ME2 characters say that they'll only continue if you break it off with the other character while you're talking with them alone.
The male Shep just had the option from I know to be like "Why can't I have both?" and Ash responds all like "In your dreams! Ugh."

Ashley crushed my dreams of a 3 way ;___; lol one day my sheps gonna have a 3 way....an all painter 3 way XD!!! and ashleys not invited!

I took a second play-through with a female Shepard so that she wouldn't romance anyone in the first game and then romanced just Garrus in the second. Let's see those "consequences" now, BioWare.
I think I'm pretty in-tuned on the romance options with my 3rd play-through that I doubt I'll accidentally pick one of the ME2 girls. Perhaps hit on on purpose but not lock-in the relationship will be Renegade Shep's move. xd Renegade doesn't like Tali in the first game with the option of not giving her the geth stuff for her pilgrimage (gave it to her anyway), 'cause wow, Renegade doesn't give a f**k about other people, does he? He's at least gotten to see Liara, so that'll probably tide him over. Liara's and Shep's relationship doesn't do the "it's over" sort of conversation like Kaidan or Ashley do on Horizon.

I would think that Liara would be more accepting of whatever relationship Shepard engaged in without her. In the Shadow Broker DLC, she takes a moment at the end to talk with Shepard, whether it's idle chit-chat, interest in Shep's LI, or the possibility of continuing their own relationship. Additionally, I can see Liara, if she were the player's first LI, proposing a broader relationship to include whomever Shep has seduced since.

Less likely that Ashley would be so open-minded. However, she does seem a bit more... relaxed in her new image... who knows?

That's actually really funny, because my Renegade did the same thing, then turned over the evidence incriminating her father, and ultimately let her die in the Suicide Mission. Renegade Shepard and teeny-tiny-Tali don't get along... at all. Still loved all over her with my Paragon, tho. whee
