 Vashti sighed as her dad urged her along on one of his crazy adventures. She had never been the adventurous type, mostly because she could not see well but was too afraid to tell anyone until her adolescent years. The lioness could only see blurs of color and motion and was not able to make out strong features, which often left her afraid to try anything knew. But over the years she had grown used to being a prim and proper lioness, always keeping her paws as clean as possible. She did love to watch her father at his games...or watch his blurs and listen to his excited hollers at least. But she went along none the less. In the back of her mind, she kept telling herself.... if her mother could do it, then so could she. A smile crept about her lips. "Alright dad... I'll try.... but... I don't want to get too dirty, okay?"

The big bushy lion laughed a deep bellowing laugh at his daughter. She was so cute, always wanting to stay neat and clean. In a lot of ways, she reminded him of her mother. So beautiful, so smart and so gentle. "We wont get too dirty, I promise my Princess." he chuckled and gave his daughter a soft nudge on the shoulder. "Me and your mom used to do this back in the day." he smiled, his mind reflecting on the various memories he and Vuxta had collected and made together. "She used to love doing this.... maybe we could do it as a family! With your brother and sister... some day anyways." he day dreamed. He loved his family with all his life, and every moment they got to spend together were some of the happiest days of his life.
Stopping at a small pool surrounded by a few trees and bushes, he nuzzled his daughter in order for her to stop. "Here we are." he grinned and took in a deep breath, recollecting the ever so familiar scent. "Aah brings back soo many memories. I can't wait for you to try your paws at this! You will love it, I promise Princess!" he grinned and cast his big bushy head in her direction.

Vashti could only smile more as her dad went on and on about her mother. After all these years he was still head over paws in love with her, and she adored that about her family. They were so close and she hoped someday she would find a male that loved her just as much.
When her father brought her to a halt, she squinted her eyes, trying to make out the shapes of the colored blurs, able to discern a pool of water and perhaps some trees? Her mouth parted as she let the air waft over her pallet, taking in the smells around her as her toes worked furiously against the grass. "What are we going to do here, dad?" she asked and tilted her head, the white bushy tip of her tail twitched ever so slightly. From what she could make out with her poor vision, she didn't see much to create some sort of adventure or exciting game. At least it wasn't dirty, the grass was soft, and the soft rippling of the water seemed to relax her.

If Vi's smile could get any wider, it would split his face in too. "Just you wait Princess! I invented this myself on a hunting expedition gone wrong." he chuckled to himself, remembering the days of his youth. There seemed to be no prey anywhere to eat, a drought wreaking havoc upon the land, and yet the ever bubbly lion always had a plan. He had spotted a few birds up in the trees and was ready to make snacks out of them....however when he got to the top of the tree....the adolescent quickly found out the flimsy weak branches could not sustain his weight. With a creak, crack and snap, he came flying down into the pool below. And that was how he invented tree splashing.
Shaking himself from his memory, he led his daughter to the perfect spot for a spectator as he began to demonstrate his perfected technique. "Now watch closely... or...er...well ... listen... sorry Princess." he said, as he often forgot she could not see well, just as he used to do with Vux. "What you do is.... climb to the..... veeeerrrryyy tippy top top.... of the tree! Where the branches..... are thin and flimsy!" he said in a series of huffs as he pushed his way to the top. Once at the top, he steadied himself as the wind blew and the tree top began to sway. "You want to keep all your weight center until your ready to jump!" he shouted, already getting way too excited. His weight was defiantly not center. "And then when your ready......" he said, slowly becoming aware this was not going as he had planned. "You want toooOOOOOOOOO...." he stated, before the tree gave a loud crack and he was flung forward. The massive black, white and green speckled ball of lion flew forward and splashed right into the center of the pool in a less than graceful manner.

Somehow the lioness knew this would happen. As soon as her sensitive ears heard him make his ascent up the tree, she could hear its protests as it threatened to crack at every moment. A few times she called up to him. "Dad...this isn't a good idea..." but he didn't hear her. "Dad!" she called again but it was no use. And yet she couldn't help but smile. He was in pure utter bliss and somehow that made her feel the same.
However when he came flying out of the tree and toppling into the water, her first reaction was that of panic. As she leaped over to the edge of the water, she peered as hard as she could into the rippling surface. She could make out a black shadow beneath the waters, but it was not moving. "Dad?" she cooed, flickering her ears for an answer. "Dad....." she said again, her voice a bit wobbly as she gently touched a paw pad onto the water. "Daaaaaaad!" she groaned again and slapped the waves with both paws, creating more waves rippling over the black figure that was her father beneath the waves.

For a moment, Vi lay suspended under the water, trying to calculate what went wrong. He had done this perfectly so many times in the past. Perhaps there was too much wind....yeah that had to be it. Ah well, at least he landed in the middle of the water. That was his main goal anyways. As he cast his gaze up to the surface, he noticed his daughter slapping at the waves. A smirk spread across his lips as he sucked in a mouth full of water. Then with a few powerful kicks of his feet, he ascended to the surface.
Once at the top, he hardly waited for Vashti to catch her breath before he puckered his lips and spewed one continuous stream of water all over her face. Once he had run out of water, he took a deep breath and let out a huge bellowing laugh that seemed to send birds scattering from the near by trees. "Aah sorry Princess!" he laughed again, his paws curling around his belly as if he were holding it to reduce the pain. "I couldn't help it! You were so cute!" he chuckled again, almost gagging himself on the water that kept splashing up into his mouth.

Before she could even think, she was half drowned in a stream of water from her fathers mouth. Now her entire head and neck were soaking wet. For a few moments after it stopped, as she stood listening to her fathers cubbish laughter, her expression stayed that of pure, unamused shock. However....as he kept laughing....she found herself wanting to laugh.
Shaking her face to rid herself of the water, she took a deep breath and plunged into the water, quickly sinking below the surface. Once below, she took a huge sip of water, then kicked herself back up to the surface. Before her dad had time to let loose another laugh, she squirted him in the face as payback. After she had shot out all the water, her own laughter erupted from her throat as it echoed around the two. "Haha, got ya!" she giggled and kicked a paw in his blurred direction. "Your right dad, this is pretty fun!" she snerked.

Vi's face went black from shock and surprise...and also choking as he was sure he swallowed most of her assault. After coughing up more water, he took a deep breath and glanced at his daughter. It didn't take long for his smile to return as he grabbed her into a huge hug and nuzzled the top of her head. "Aaah thats my girl." he beamed in pride. He wouldn't change his family for anything. "Next time, your climbing the tree!" he chuckled.

Vashti giggled and nuzzled her father's soggy wet mane. "Pretty smooth dad, pretty smooth!" she teased him again, paddling her paws to splash a little more water on his already soaking fur. As he praised her, she felt a rising successful feeling in the pit of her stomach. She too loved her family greatly, and to finally have done something 'adventurous' in her life.... well she thought she might just get used to this! "Oh sure dad.... suuuure!" she chuckled again as the two continued to splash around for a bit of fun.
