It was well into noon and Kaivieth sat outside of an abandoned building his chest heaving slightly with exertion and his cheeks a touch wind burnt. He had been trying to get inside this house all morning. He knew he just knew there was something of great interest inside. He was sure of it. He just had to get in to find out.
The day had dawned chill and had stayed that way on into the afternoon. It was blatantly clear that the cooler months were upon them. An icy wind was constantly biting at any exposed skin and most were bundled up quite snuggly if they were out at all. The town was still bustling of course; it took more than a little chill to keep all indoors. There were plenty of other things Kaiv could have been doing but he had set his heart on getting inside the building when he had found it the other day.
It had been a touch warmer yesterday and he had gone out for a rather lengthy walk. His last extravagant risk had paid off quite well. It had been a rather phenomenal success and he decided he was going to treat himself for a job well done. He had been going towards his favorite little bakery when he had stumbled across it. He hadn’t been looking for it per say so much as it had just found him and was thus special and called to him.
He hadn’t tried to break in that day, as he was officially taking the day off and rewarding himself but he had made sure to record the location for tomorrow when he could come back. It was a small building tucked away in one of the back corners of the town, forgotten probably by most, as everyone else bustled about and did their own thing. It was only right it be explored then, it was just begging for someone to uncover all its treasures he was sure there was a plethora of things he could learn from this building.
Kaiv shook his head; it had been such a rare find the other day. He had set out for here as soon as he could this morning, his heart set on getting in. However the building had proved to be a bit defiant. He had tried most everything aside from breaking a window. He didn’t want to destroy anything or change the face of the building in any way. However all the doors and windows were locked and it seemed he had forgotten to bring his lock pick. So he was left leaning against the outside wall his breath coming in gasps as if he had run a mile. He was sure he could get in if he just found the right spot, which he would eventually fine of that he was positive. He stood up and took a few steps back from the building, looking at it with crossed arms. He would make it into this building one way or another, there was no way he was going to let it defy him.
Of course he was so wrapped up in his own thoughts he didn’t pay the least bit of attention to his surroundings and anyone could have walked up and scared him half to death at any moment.
