The two were good friends, even if it was rather awkward. The humans mostly kept Sammy locked away for safety for Tabitha but that didn't mean that Lassie was completely incapable of getting around with him. She liked him, regardless of him being a bit.. weird. Lassie was happy to see him thriving. When they had brought the male home he had been nothing but a pile of bones and skin. Maltreated, abused, neglected and left to die, Sammy had a hard life and Lassie was there to make sure it didn't get any harder.

Her little tail wagged happily as she found her way into the garage where Sammys bed was made up. A soft pillow next to a warm heater and a bowl that held a bit of kibble lay there untouched. She frowned, looking side to side. Her belly was full, and she had no need for kibble. Her humans liked to treat her to meat. Something that was a perk to being a pet, and not so much a fighter.

"Are you looking for me?" He asked her, and her head whipped to the side so that she could make out his face from the shadows. He sat there, drooping as if his best friend had died and she frowned. That wasn't possible! She was right here after all! She nodded.
"Yeah, of course. Who else would I be looking for?" She asked arching her brow.

"I dunno. Figured eventually someone would stop you from coming to see me." His voice was soft.
"Why are you so sad, Sammy? What happened?" She asked and his eyes flared almost angrily before they settled on calm.
"It's been a rough day. Lots of remembering."
"Then why haven't you eaten?" She asked, walking to his bowl and motioning to it. The kibble didn't smell too bad, and it even smelled somewhat good. If you were into that kind of thing. Which beggars couldn't be choosers right?

"I-I'm not hungry. I'll eat later." Came the soft response. She nodded, trotting back to where he was hiding in the shadows.
"You don't blend very well. Your pelt is as bright as sunshine." She said, motioning to the white hue that covered him.

"I'm not hiding." He said, tail curling against an old paint can that was beginning to rust at the top. Truth be told, Sammy had it pretty good. He was taken care of with warmth and food. He didn't have to worry about dying out in the cold. He was no feral, and truth be told he had never been a feral. Though it was close enough.

He had a soft spot for Lassie. He was not interested in her romantically. No, that bordered the lines of weird. He saw her more as a sister than anything, and he was sure she was happy for it. But she was his best friend, and he'd do anything for her. Even in the small amount of time he had been with this new family, she had been kind to him. First Mokai ever to even give him the light of day.

"Have you ever thought of coming inside? Maybe.. Getting away from the life of a fighter? You can't possibly enjoy it." She said, and lay down on her belly.
"No. No, I'm a good fighter. I can get out my aggression. I have to get out my aggression." Was the response. She nodded, and leaned her head against his shoulder, and he lay his own head down nuzzling her muzzle.

"I just want you safe. Tabitha may not like you.. but shes just a silly human. I like you."
"She doesn't like me because she probably can't dress me up." He grinned, and she pushed him. She hated wearing that dress she insisted she wear.. She was happier au natural, but it got her nowhere.
