Roll a Six: Electric Field: The field is completely flat. Standing at the four corners and at the exact center of the field are five electrical towers that stand at six feet in height. These release static discharge across the field at random; electric attacks may be able to amplify themselves by using these stray charges to their advantage. The discharges also programmed to encourage pokemon to avoid standing in one location for too long. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ELECTRIC type attacks.

Genesis stepped onto the field, regarding the shocks of electric currents warily. Her Lucario, she knew, would be less than pleased to be thrown out now. Although she usually wouldn't have given much weight to such an opinion (what better way to steel him against it than to force him to overcome it, after all?), she had another Pokémon with her -- one that needed more training when it came to following orders when compared to the other.
With a sigh, she punched the random number generator to see what chances she would have of being allowed to go first before releasing her Rattata.
Leto squeaked excitedly when she was let out, ears thrumming and tail twitching. She looked towards her trainer, looking the part of an obedient little Rattata, but Genesis knew that within the exterior lay a terrible daredevil...

Leela had a battle to get to with a girl named Paula. She made it to the stadium and saw that Paula already had her rattata out. She waved without saying a word. There wasn't much to say really. The field had electrical towers on it that were giving off random static discharges. She eyed them and made sure to stay clear. She did not want to get shocked. It made her wonder how Pookie would react. She was still a shy little thing.
This was the first stadium battle for Leela. It didn't take her long to figure out that she had to use the machine to generate a number to see who goes first. It didn't have instructions on it but she kind of guessed what it was for. She released Pookie from her poke ball.
Pookie came out and immediately ran behind Leela to hide. It wasn't that she was scared. She was just incredibly shy. Her eyes strayed to the charges of electricity and she seemed more curious than scared of it.
Leela pushed Pookie out onto the field and waited to see who would go first.

Genesis sighed, watching the other Rattata. If only Leto had been like that, she would have been so much simpler to train. As it was, the little pipsqueak still liked to leave her Poké Ball and run around at a whim, risking both her identity, plans, and everything she tried to keep secret. Thankfully, while she hung out in the Stadium, Leto didn't prove to be such a high risk (as there were many more Pokémon there and, therefore, fewer reasons for her scampering around to rouse suspicion), and she remained determined to train her properly while the Stadium was still popular and thriving with trainers.
"All right," she said, eyeing their numbers on the board and seeing she had gotten the higher of the two. "Let's start this off with Tail Whip!"
Leto cocked her head at the other Rattata, whiskers fluttering curiously. She had yet to meet a reluctant opponent and squeaked towards the other, urging her on.
Upon hearing Genesis' command, she raised her flank and whipped her tail about cutely, attempting to lower the other's defenses.

((OOC: I'll just call her Paula now and we'll pretend that Leela never thought Genesis in the first place. ))
Leela watched the other Rattata. She was a cute little thing but so was Pookie. She smiled before nudging Pookie forward more. It was doubtful that her Rattata would ever get over her shyness. She had done good so far though and it seemed that battling was the one thing that she tended to not be so shy about.
Pookie watched the other Rattata with big eyes. It wasn't until the other one whipped her tail about that Pookie realized it was a battle. She immediately perked up and looked to Leela for instructions.
Leela grinned, "Pookie, use Toxic!" Yep, she had been right. It seemed that Pookie was not shy about battling. That was good. Otherwise it would be a nightmare if they ran into wild pokemon while traveling.
Pookie turned back to the other Rattata. She ran closer and released a stream of purple liquid that turned into poisonous gas.

Genesis frowned when she saw how much of the gas Leto had inhaled before she had run a safe enough distance away. No doubt, it would affect her for a while.
"Stay strong!" she encouraged. "Try Ice Beam!"
Leto hacked and coughed when the other attacked, halting her wagging tail in favor of running the hell out of the affected area. Still, some poison had gotten to her, and she felt terrible sick, but still able to battle.
Thankful that her next attack allowed her to stay distanced from the other Rattata, she prepared an Ice Beam.

Leela watched the battle unfold. It looked like the other Rattata had inhaled a good amount of the poisonous gas. She wasn't sure exactly how much though. When Pookie became frozen, she frowned and hoped that her little one was still okay. She couldn't imagine what it would be like to be frozen. There was nothing she could do now but wait for Pookie to defrost.

The ice hadn't been laid on as thick as Genesis would have preferred, but there was little to do about it now.
"Toxic!" she yelled, hoping the opponent's momentary halt would better allow her Rattata to aim.
Leto dashed closer now that it was safe and expelled a noxious poison of her own, hoping it would hurt the other as much as the opponent's had hurt her.

Leela was glad when the ice melted off of Pookie. The electric surges that sparked throughout the field had gotten quite close to her while she was frozen. She watched to see if Pookie got poisoned. It looked like the attack missed her though. She yelled out, "Pookie, make use of the electricity on the field, charge beam!" Hopefully it would hit.
Pookie blinked as she defrosted and shook her fur out. As soon as Leela made the order, she opened her mouth. An orb of electricity formed in front of her mouth and seemed to be pulling in the charges from the towers. She released it at the other Rattata.

Genesis frowned when the Toxic missed and Leto was struck with a powerful move, strengthened even more with the aid of the field. "Don't give up!" she called. "Try Ice Beam!"
Leto squeaked in pain when the beam struck, its charge of electricity forcing her into a passing shock and adding to the attack. For a moment, she lay, twitching in response to the high volts of electricity she had endured, but upon hearing her trainer, she leapt to her feet and aimed a beam of her own towards her opponent.

Leela called out to Pookie, "Great hit!" That charge beam looked like it did a lot of damange. She seemed to be really enjoying herself. Leela gasped when Pookie got frozen again. Poor thing. She hoped that it wouldn't last that long. The ice around her looked thicker than the last time.

"Quickly!" Genesis called upon seeing the other's frozen sheen. "Get it with Rock Smash before it can free itself!"
Leto was glad for the momentary relief from pain. The poison didn't even wound her anymore, although she was still desperately weakened.
Leaping upon the trail of ice she had maid, she slid against its slippery surface so that she wouldn't have to exert so much energy to get to her opponent. Along the way, her paw began to glow red in preparation of teh attack.

Leela watched with concern in her eyes. Rock smash was a very effective move against normal types. Pookie was still frozen though it looked like the ice was starting to come off. She hoped that Pookie would break free soon. Until then, there was nothing she could do but watch. Paula seemed to really know what she was doing. Pookie was Leela's first pokemon, so this was definitely a learning experience.

Genesis could see that, with the aid of Leto's powerful attack, the ice was beginning to crack. Chips of the frozen block, along with small pools of water, dotted the floor beside Leto, and she called, "Try to get one more hit in; then get out of there!"
Upon hearing Genesis' words, Leto threw herself at the block again with a Rock Smash, attempting to hit it along the side and use her momentum to carry her farther away from the Rattata's immediate range of hits.
