Tsetsiliya had seen the signs. She had heard the general buzz as she passed students in the halls about it. Another school play was in the works - this time, one that required dancing.

Oh sure, the poludnica knew how to dance. Years of deghoultant balls and her parents putting her through those Jack-awful lessons with her cousin Pawel saw to that much. It did not matter anyway, as she was not a very good dancer (at least she thought she wasn't). It also didn't matter since she was aiming to stay away from the play this time. Her embarrassment at tryouts last year were proof enough that her place was not on the stage.

Still, her eye would linger on the posters as she passed, and she would think wistfully, "Perhaps.." but no. The ghoul needed to quit while she was ahead - an actress this poludnica did not make. The same could be said of today, as she made her way down the hall and into the quad. Her pale gaze lingered on the poster, but she shook it off and headed for the grassy quad. Perhaps some fresh air would do her some good to get those silly notions out of her head.

From beneath one of the trees in the quad, the faint sound of ballet music could be heard issuing from what looked to be a half-broken eyePod and some even sadder looking speakers. The music was soft, slow, but it worked out just right for the figure nearby who was doing what looked to be stretches. She was dressed in a simple outfit (namely a track practice uniform) and had wraps on her ankles, but other than the fact there was ballet music playing her stretching looked nothing out of place.

Temes turned and reached up for the sky, easily lifting one of her legs up and rotating it in its socket. Considering her natural form was that of an animal who could use its hind legs to scratch its ears, flexibility was not a surprise. What was a surprise was how she was able to keep that up in false form though she did wheeze a bit from the effort. Her stretches continued for a few more moments before the chupacabra happened to turn up and look, spotting a female student in the distance. Instantly the small monster moved and hid behind a tree, keeping everything else out in the open.

Chuppi had chosen this time to come out and practice because she didn't think anyone would be there. It was embarrassing to be caught like this.

Tsetsiliya ducked her head as she stepped outside and began her trek across the quad, and had Temes not chosen that moment to suddenly duck out of sight, the poludnica might not have noticed her. However, her head snapped up at the swift movement, and she blinked softly at the tree looming ahead, slowing her steps. The eyePod continued to play its lovely music (she recognized the song, although she had not heard it in a long time), but the poor speakers made it sound so tinny. She could have easily kept walking and left her to her own devices, but the ghoul she had interrupted dancing seemed rather familiar.. where had she seen her? Perhaps it was the track uniform.. so she was a track team member too?

"O-Oh, excuse me," she called out, one hand extended in front of her and a small smile speaking of apologies, "I am not meaning to interrupt.. p-please do not mind me!" She did not round the tree, thinking it might startle the other even more, and instead just sidestepped a little to get a better angle to peer ever so slightly around the trunk. "I-I hopefully am not startling you too much."

Chuppi peeked around the corner of the tree as the voice approached her from in front of it, whomever was speaking clearly polite enough to know that you didn't corner a frightened monster. Chupacabras, mostly Temes herself, were known for not liking it and causing all sorts of horrible reactions to certain things when pressed. "......." Slowly she waddled out from her position, eyes bright red and threatening with tears, though thankfully she was not crying. "N-no, you're fine. I just...didn't think there would be anyone else out here or I wouldn't have picked such a place."

Twisting herself into a better viewing position (meaning her hands were together and her knees were as well) the monster looked this person up and down, her nose faintly sniffing. She smelled like the fields, or like something baking, so she certainly wasn't a dangerous person. They always smelled like something bad or so Chuppi hoped. "Am I...in the place you wanted to be? I can move if so is not a problem."

Oh dear. Tsetsiliya chewed her lower lip anxiously. Had she embarrassed the poor ghoul? It was clearly written on her face, and it made the poludnica feel rather terrible. But the chupacabra had insisted that she was fine, but..

"O-Oh, no no." She waved her hands and shook her head. "I-I was just crossing, taking a walk but.." Again, she hesitated. "I.. was hearing your music, from your eyePod? I am recognizing it." She glanced down at the small device, covered in scratches. Immediately she thought of the posters, taunting her about the auditions, teasing. Her all-time favorite production, of course it had to be that. "A-Are you thinking of audition.. ?" For some reason, "auditioning" didn't come out entirely; the ghoul chalked that up to her own apprehension. "I-I mean.. I am only assuming, since you were dancing and I am not meaning to interrupt -- " And here she went, talking a little too fast and a little too much, twisting her hands nervously. Oh dear, this wasn't going well at all.

This person wasn't here to ridicule her and, based on how they were speaking, probably wasn't a native to English either. Why that was important only went to serve in calming the Chupacabra's nerves, knowing someone else was a foreigner in this school. It didn't make her instantly trust her though and it took a few more moments of talking to convince the monster to speak up again.

"I...well, yes. I was trying to learn more dance, to make it easier when I go. I think with what I have learned, dance is important?" She'd read about the play briefly and had watched a few videos on the skeevee, but other than that all her knowledge of the Crack of Nuts came from . . .well, nothing. At least she did know that dancing was a big part of it and if she could dance maybe poor acting could be forgiven. "Do you, no wait, are you going to try to?"

Tsetsiliya nodded as Temes explained, and she felt a small rush of sympathy for the poor chupacabra. The ghoul recalled her own dancing lessons as a child, although ballet was a whole different maceball game compared to ballroom dancing. Still, there were a few things she could help her with, but at the same time she didn't want to suggest that her dancing was terrible. What an awkward situation!

"I-I am thinking of auditioning, yes.. perhaps.. I am not certain." Her hands twisted the fur trim of her sash, and she shrugged her shoulders a little. "B-But I am also needing some practice before I do something of the sort." .. And there was the "a-ha" moment. With a cautious glance towards Temes and an anxious chewing of her lower lip, the poludnica stopped fiddling with her sash and instead clasped her own hands together. "I-If it is not being too much of a bother, m-may I practice with you.. ?" A shot in the dark, but it was worth a try, wasn't it?

It made the monster feel better to know that someone else was going to be trying out for the play and she smiled, her eyes looking less watery and full of nervous terror. Perhaps that was a good thing since she didn't need to make her companion feel uncomfortable and then - she'd been asked if she wanted a practice partner. Chuppi hadn't even thought about using someone as a partner for dance (Mort was going to help her with her lines), and she stood dumbstruck for a few moments as she considered what all that meant.

Of course it was in her best interest to have a partner since she might eventually have to dance with someone in the play (if she got a part) so she silently nodded her head before deciding on a verbal confirmation. "Um, por favor. Please." She twisted one of her clawed feet like a little child asking for something special, but it was a silly thing to do since this new person had offered to help after all. "It would make me happy very much so, because I am not good at the dancing."
