Yamada Shintaro is a monster guardian ... well, really, just a trainee. His job is to protect the monster community from any human harm and from any exorcists trying to kill them. As part of his training, Shintaro enrolls in a Japanese middle school, meets a girl named Nao Arisaka and falls in love... with the nape of her neck! Which less than pleases Nao. What the heck did she do to deserve the attention of the weirdest kid in her class?
This is by the creator of Gravitation, and if you keep an eye out you'll notice that some of the characters look strangely familiar...

according to the Tokyopop website 2 volumes is all there is gonk
cliffhangers are all good and well, but this is ridiculous stressed

The book doesn't end at 2, and there is no information on a book 3.
