It was times like these that made Lan'tis miss companionship, though he wasn't much of a talker he enjoyed a body next to his to enjoy the peace of it all. He was currently sitting on a grassyhill area overlooking part of his lands, the roguelands. There was many stars out in the sky tonight and it seemed the heavens were putting on a show just for him to watch.
A stray breeze came along and he closed his eyes as it carded through his silvery-blue mane. He liked the nights best as the day tended to be too hot and sticky for his dark fur. Humming a tune he had heard when he was younger Lan'tis began to lay down to make himself comfortable. It couldn't hurt to stay in this area a little longer.
Obi was wandering around the temple just after waking up from his midday nap and boy was it nice to have cuddled up to his mate. Nanu was off somewhere with her friends which was okay with him. He wasn't one of those males that kept his beloved all to himself Zuberi didn't think it was good for ones piece of mind to be controlled in such a way. Shaking those thoughts out of his head Obi made his way to the watering hole for a little wash up, it was nice to relax by the water every once in a while. Once he got to the stop black eyes survey his surrounds and found it was somewhat dead. " I guess I just missed the rush." He mumbled which was fine with him cause crowded waters could be annoying rather than relaxing.
Lan'tis had zoned out for abit staring blankly across the rogue land and Dawnwalker boarder. He was a guardian that took his job seriously but for some reason today seemed like a hard day to focus on protecting...dangerous he knew but...maybe he should call in a favor and have someone else stand at his post for the rest of the day. Few minutes later after a quiet thank you to his friend and guard, for watching his post Lan'tis made his way through his city. It had taken some getting used too as he was born in the rogue lands for most of his childhood but he was glad that he had made the decision to live among the Dawnwalkers. They were a good pride and it seemed a strong force to be reckoned with in time of hardships. Outwardly looking bored but inside feeling exhausted he thought it was best to spend the day possibly floating in the warm waters or nap. Either sounded nice to be quite honest.
Obi had just started to relax at the edge of the waters when a sound interrupted the piece and quiet. Lazily he opened one eye only to snap them both open as he took in the somewhat weird appearance of another male lion heading his way. " Dude that is some weird stuff you have on your fur." He blurted out before thinking, and winced at the nasty look he got in return. "Sorry me and my big mouth. I'm Zuberi'Obi incase you...wanted..to know.." He watched as the other male walked right by him and strolled right into the water without a how-do-you-do. With a raised eyebrow Obi shook his head. Some felines just didn't have any manners, a shame really the other lion looked like he could use a friend. "Jerk.."
Honestly, young ones now-a-days no respect why if he were in training that sort of talk-ooooh. His mental rant was cut off by the pleasure of warm water soothing his hot fur and oh well look at that now his headache was gone as well. A hidden smirk crossed his face when he saw the other lion's expression when he ignored him. 'Get used to it kid, happens all the time.' With lowered lids Lan sank deeper into the water simply floating along with the soft current. He almost missed the word, but the tone he caught first. "Listen kid, I had a somewhat rough day. Don't mean to ignore you I just wanted a few moments of peace." He looked at the other pointedly.
Obi nearly blushed when the other spoke to him with somewhat of a reprimand. "Ah.. right I see." He flickered his tail awkwardly before resting his head down on his front paws simply watching a few flower pelts float by. He felt kinda weird now being in the presence of the other not knowing what to do, so he thought it best to ignore him for now unless the other lion started talking to him again.
Lan'tis eyed the other male noting the somewhat awkward and saddness around him. Sighing mentally as he did come off as rude sometimes. " Lan'tis." He spoke out and watched as the pale lion looked at him in confusion. "That is my name Lan'tis and I am a guardian here recently as I lived in the rogue lands a few months back. I don't think I've seen you 'round before kid."
"Dude, I ain't a kid anymore. The name is Zuberi'Obi and I've lived here my whole life along with my family of seven." He paused here to eye Lantis before cautiously heading into the water to float too. "I am a hunter, I just recently was gifted that titled for my skills in finding the most meat of my age group." Pride clearly ringing in his voice before continuing cautiously. "What do you do?"
'Dude?' Lantis mouthed the word with raised brows. Huh, he had never been called that before, and he had been called many things. " I am a guardian here of these lands, and unlike you I recently came across these lands. I lived among the Rogues since I was birthed and again unlike you I do not know my family. I was abandonned and learned what I know now from observing those around me." Lantis spoke in an almost robotic in tone like he was hiding a deep hurt but not wanting to talk about it.
Zuberi frowned at the sad tale. " Sorry to hear that Lan'tis, sounds like a rough life. You can make a new start though never too late." Zuberi floated around for a few more minutes before getting out to sunbath on a rock nearby. It was his favourite thing to do afterall. Small talk was made between him and Lan'tis, though it was mostly him that did the talking which was fine with Zuberi. Lantis wasnt so bad once he chillaxed a little bit. It was midday when they both bid their goodbyes and seeya rounds. It had been an alright day and Zuberi had met someone knew. Hopefully a friend if Lantis got that stick outta his butt which time it could happen. A smile crossed his lips before disappearing into his home to wait for his wife. An interesting day indeed. END.
