So far this week Micah had been attacked by something out of Silent Hill, lead to safety by a talking cat, given a magical pen, and found out that her body was possessed by some intergalactic soldier. Oh, and her "power sphere" was a dinosaur. Wasn't she supposed to be striving for a normal life? Micah kicked a rock that was next to her foot. Well, kicked at it was more like what she did. Her foot went right by it. Micah couldn't bring herself to care. As she sat on the stoop by her house nothing really mattered. This was what grounded her to normalcy. Her father, her mother, her brother. All beautiful and strong, all hers and hers alone. Her link to a normal life.
It didn't seem right for Micah to hide her magical space pen here. It sat, untouched, under a mass of panties where no one would find it, until she could find a suitable place to bury it forever. Somewhere she would never remember. Somewhere safe and forget about it. About Acubens. About a life she didn't want and didn't ask for.
A breeze caught Micah's hair and lifted it from her face. The rivulets of tears felt chillier than the rest of her face. What had she started crying? Micah cuffed roughly at the tears, growling at her own weakness. Well, she thought to herself mirthlessly, things can't get any weirder. Right?

Things could always get weirder in Destiny City.
That was one of the first things Leto learned when she was first awakened as a Sailor Senshi. At this point, nothing surprised her. Okay, that was a lie. Being suddenly turned into a cat definitely surprised her. Not only did it surprise her, it infuriated her. Well, at first at least. Now that it had been a few days, Leto was almost used to going out and wandering the streets of Destiny City as a cat rather than patrolling and stealing energy. Not that she would rather this life, she yearned for the 'normalcy' of being a teenager-turned-Senshi every single moment that she was a cat, but at least it wasn't completely awful.
She was padding down the street when the sight of a girl attempting to kick a rock caught her eye. Leto quickly padded over, pawing at the rock that the girl missed and sending it flying down the road. Deciding it was way too far, she stopped a few feet away from the stranger, sitting back on her haunches while she watched her.
People were a lot more interesting to watch when you were a cat.

Micah looked up when she heard the rock skittering away. Already excuses were on the tip of her tongue for her apparent sobbing. No... a cat. That was all. Micah scoffed and leaned back on her elbows, tossing head back. Hadn't they had enough of her? Then she looked back again. Her eyes zeroed in on the cat forehead right away, her temper flaring to life.
"What," she demanded loudly, flying to her feet. "What, was one of you freaks not enough? Another space cat has to come visit me? I already told that feral b***h that I was done." She stopped short. The cat, however mean, had told Micah not to reveal her identity to anyone. Not unless she trusted them implicitly. And as far as cats went... they were a little sketchy in Micah's book right now. She twisted her mouth up and choked back a sob. This was too much.
"Come with another monster buddy have you," she sobbed, cuffing roughly at her eyes. "Well... fine!" She picked up another pebble and chucked it at the cat, missing tragically. "Fine!" The disarming effect of her recent stumble had faded and her temper flared again. "Fine! Bring it on! I'll take that freak out, and then I'll move on to you!"

Leto's eyes widened when the girl shot up to her feet and started screaming and rambling about space cats and monsters. Apparently this girl had a bad run-in with a guardian cat (or a human-turned-cat recently). She remained sitting with her tail wrapped around her legs, the tip of it twitching as she let the girl rant, watching as pebbles flew past her.
She waited, and when she finally sat back down and began crying again, Leto finally made her way over to her.
While she was screaming and throwing rocks at her, she... She almost felt sorry for this girl. Maybe it was all the crying. So instead of saying something, she pressed her body against the stranger's legs and rubbed against her in an attempt to be comforting. Then she sat at the girl's feet and stared up at her.
"You need to calm down. You're not going to fight me or any other monsters right now."
She figured at this point, she girl knew all about talking cats and Leto wasn't going to waste time pretending she couldn't speak.

As was reflex for anyone when a cat rubbed against them, Micah's hand moved to scratch the camouflaged head lightly. She rolled her head over, resting her chin on her knees as the cat spoke. "Oh really," she sniffed, not swayed from her original course of thought. "Then what's this," she gently pressed the star on the green forehead, amazed again at how soft that patch was despite the hard appearance. When she'd touched the star of the cat who'd awakened her she had expected bone, and again now. She went back to her automatic ear scratching and sighed. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised. One minute I'm the new girl... the next I feel like I'm the only sane one in town. Do all the cats here talk and have hidden stars on their foreheads?"
Micah decided it didn't matter really. She leaned back again, still watching the cat. "You hungry?" The cat was talking to her like a normal person. No use speaking to her like she was a house cat. "I got some... chicken inside... really anything. My parents keep the house pretty well stocked." She reached down again and scratched the back of the cat's neck. "I'm Micah, by the way."

Leto went cross-eyed as she followed the finger that poked her forehead. Suddenly this entire thing felt all too familiar, as the forehead-poking was exactly what she did when she met ********* for the first time. She shook her head slightly to rid of the strange poked feeling and her ears twitched.
"That... Is hard to explain," she said with a frown. "I'm a Senshi of Chaos. Or I was... I somehow got turned into a cat. I'm hoping that I will be human again sooner rather than later though."
She instinctively pressed into the hand that was scratching her ears. A low rumbling began in her throat and she immediately realized that she was purring. When Micah asked if she was hungry she was suddenly all too aware of the fact that she hadn't eaten a good meal (ie. not garbage or mice) in days. "Starving."
Her tail raised upwards and curled contently as Leto enjoyed the pets. "My name is Leto." She figured she may as well drop the 'Sailor' part of her name until further notice.

Micah accepted the senshi-turned-cat without question. She figured it would be easier that way. "Senshi of chaos... Are there now like... different breeds of senshi now," Micah sighed as she stood, dusting off her pants. She opened the door to her home, careful not to step on any part of the cat which was, evidently, not a cat at all. "Seems a little sketchy to me. I have a hard time believeing anything I can't see or feel, but I can see and feel all of these things... but I just... I don't know." She looked down at Leto as she lead her inside, making her way to the kitchen as the door began to swing shut behind her. Leto seemed perfectly capable to getting in the house in time, the door wasn't really all that fast.
Micah sighed tiredly as she pulled open the fridge and gazed at the food within. "Whachu thinking about Leto? Meat... veggies? Fish maybe?" What do not-really-cats eat anyway? "We have... fruit... cheese. Cold pizza." She pulled out a slice of said pizza for herself and slapped it in a plate bound for the micro wave. "Or do you want something sweet, maybe?"

"I guess you could call them different breeds," she said simply as she followed Micah through her front door. She walked with her tail and head held high as she looked over the house while they moved towards the kitchen.
"I can definitely understand that it's hard to believe at first. I thought I was going crazy when I met my first talking cat."
She crouched low to the ground, her kitty bum wiggling in the air for a moment before she sprung up onto the counter-top. She carefully stepped over anything that may have been residing on the counter, not wanting to knock anything over or make an awful mess in someone else's home. She eyed the pizza, her eyes large and sparkling. If there was one way to Leto's heart, it was pizza.
She sat back on her haunches and pointed a paw at the pizza in Micah's hand. "Pizza, if you have more. Cold! Not microwaved," she wrinkled her nose at the idea of re-heated pizza.
"I'm one of three breeds of Senshi. Two of us belong to Chaos, the 3rd Order." She licked at her paw idly for a moment before sweeping it over her ear. "Obviously me being a part of Chaos makes those of Order my enemy."
She desperately wished to herself that she had the ability of Guardian Cats to sense unawakened Senshi- then at least as a cat she would have been useful to Ares in bringing over new Dark Mirrors.

There was, indeed, about half of the pizza left. Micah pushed a plate of pizza over to Leto and slid hers into the microwave. "So if the chaos has two 'breeds' and the order only has one... does that make the chaos... right," Micah asked, punching the the numbers and leaning back against the counter. "Ever since I was attacked by that... thing... it was all too convenient that the cat and her girl was there." She gnawed on her cuticle for a moment before she spoke again. "Chaos... I never actually learned anything about... this whole situation. They left as soon as the thing was dead. No explanation..." Micah chafed at the memory of Laoise. Nothing in the way of reason. Just here's the pen and go fight.
She finally waved a hand dismissively through the air at the subject. "What is Chaos... why would you be against the Order?" There had to be a good reason, right? "Oh, if you finish that slice there's plenty more," she added off highhandedly. Or if you want something else.
"Right now... you don't have a home?" She turned back to Leto, petting her reflexively down her back and up her tail. "No where to stay?"

Leto crouched down on the counter and nibbled at the slice of pizza on the plate in front of her. Holy crap was it ever nice to be eating real food again.
She ran her tongue over her lips to lap up some stray sauce before she spoke. "Listen... I'm not here to preach to you about this war. But that's what it is. It's a war, and there are going to be two sides that both think they're right."
She shrugged her camoflaged shoulders slightly before taking a few more bites of pizza, her paws on top of the slice to keep it from sliding away from her.
"But I used to be on the other side and I got brought over and now I know that I used to be wrong. The ideals of Order and White Moon Senshi are wrong. What I was taught to do as a white Moon Senshi was wrong. But I was lucky and I was saved. And my job is to make sure other Order Senshi are saved as well."
Man, this was more talking than Leto was used to. Typically at this point she'd just be punching the person. But here and now she was lacking fists and this girl was kind enough to give her something to eat, so the least she could do was answer a few questions.
"I have a home, but I can't get in. My roommate got turned into a cat too. So I've been on the street since I was stupid enough to leave without a way to get back inside." Her back end raised in the air when Micah's hand ran over it and up her tail.

Micah nodded thoughtfully. "That makes sense... but what do they... both sides... believe? What are we... you... fighting for? There must be a reason for the war, right?" The pizza, fresh from the microwave, burnt the top of Micah's mouth. She cursed to herself and set the slice back down to let it cool. "Unless... you don't know the reason." She watched as Leto licked at her pizza, trying to envision her as a human. Two arms... two legs... harder than it seemed, really. As she regarded the kitty she began to think more on her words. Saved. Like... almost christian in it's sounding. Saved. Micah mouthed the words again. She really should see the rest of the story but... Leto was so nice. Could Micah really go against her?
"And what do people like me... normal people count as? Can we still be friends?" She tried her pizza again, and this time avoided getting scalded.

"The reason for the war goes back long before we were ever around. I think everyone fights for their own reasons now, though. I used to fight to protect my family, but when that was taken away from me I had to fight for new reasons. I fight for me, now. It's selfish, but it's true. I fight for my life, both as Leto and as a civilian. Because one day, this war is gonna end... And when only one side can win, I don't wanna be on the one that loses."
When she eventually finished gobbling up her pizza, she flopped down onto the counter beside Micah's plate and rolled onto her side. Her paws flexed slightly and the tip of her tail twitched with contentment.
"We can be friends, sure." She readjusted slightly so she was almost on her back entirely and looking at the girl upside-down.
"I don't go around killing civilians anyway... Just, be careful okay? I may not drain your energy but that doesn't mean other Senshi on my side or the Negaverse won't." She offered Micah some semblance of a kitty-smile.

Micah smiled back, rubbing Leto's full tummy. "That's good. I'm not quite ready to die. You seem like you'd be a huge bad a** when you're not... you know... adorable." She laughed and tossed both plates into the sink. "If I do chose the Order... are we going to have to fight? Will that be like... required?" She shifted uneasily as she spoke. "How do I even recognize chaos senshi. I don't suppose they wear like... signs... or have arrows..." She ceased her rubbing and leaned back against the counter again. "I don't think killing is in me at all. I know I have a horrible temper but... it's not that bad." She fell silent again.
"When you said... you lost your family... did the Order... I mean, were they...?" The story hit home with Micah, and to say it did anything else would be a lie. Alexij in specific, was her anchor to this world and all that was around her. Her head would get lost if Alexij didn't hand it to her whenever it fell off her shoulders. Her keeper, her sounding board... her best friend. What would she do without him? And her parents? Those who brought her into this world. They let her want for nothing... they loved her so much she suspected it hurt them both. They loved her and her brother so much... she knew they'd only ever know a fraction of that love... and to lose those people closest to her.
Micah's eyes were too hot. Not again. Not twice in one day. Micah was too quick to tears. She hung her head to hide her eyes from the other, wiping them furiously. "I'm sorry," she whispered, sniffing.

Leto couldn't help but laugh at the girl calling her a badass. "I s'pose I am pretty badass," she said with a cat-like grin. "We don't have to fight. Don't tell anyone, but I did make friends with one White Moon Senshi, so there's no reason I can't be friends with another, if you happened to become one. I wouldn't know it was you though, I don't know Order Senshi identities. As for Chaos Senshi... My court has black outfits, where as Order are white. And the Senshi in the Negaverse have big ol' gaping holes in their foreheads and chests. We're pretty easy to notice, and the Negaverse typically wears dark colors as well."
Noticing how uneasy Micah had become, Leto moved over to her again and rubbed against her arm in a friendly headbutt.
"My family is alive. It's just... When I was a White Moon Senshi, my teammates and cousin knew my civilian identity. So when I got brought over to Chaos, I had a glamor put on me. That way my former teammates and cousin will never know who I am if they passed by me as civilians... It's for my safety. But they have no idea who I am. My family thinks I'm dead."
It was a huge price that she had to pay in order to see the light, so to speak. While she still mourned the loss of her family, she was thankful every single day that she had her new 'family' made up of the rest of the Dark Mirror Court.
Leto's ears flattened sadly when she saw tears spring to Micah's eyes a second time. "It's okay..."

Micah sniffed again and smiled gently at Leto. Another rub of Leto's forehead and Micah spoke again. "No... it's great that your family is still alive. I was just thinking about my own... If that's the price I'd have to pay... the Chaos had better be worth it." Especially to give up Alexij. Micah's heart lurched again and she felt sick. No, never. She would just reject the Order all together. She'd never henshin up again, and that would be how she fought. Another sniff and Micah forced the color from her face and the moisture from her eyes. "It's... really easy to make me cry. You shouldn't be surprised when I do that." She dabbed lightly at her eyes with a napkin that was left on the counter.
"So... I think this topic is a bit heavy. Let's just never mind that whole silly war. Especially if there's no set reason for fighting." Another dismissive wave of her hand to end the topic all together. "Let's go to the living room. If you're like me then a nap is in order after a big meal. Or any meal, for that matter." She stretched and yawned widely. "I don't know how long you'll be a cat for... but for as long as you need... you can live here. If you want that is." She smiled again at Leto, tilting her head slightly to the side. "Even after you change back, if you find you need a place that's not you're apartment... the door is open. No White Moon, no Chaos here. Just me... and just you."
