Somewhere in the scarecade sits a peculiar machine with even more peculiar lights and designs and patterns and a couple of arrows pointing north, south, east and west. Some creatures have seen this device before others have never even heard of the scarecade let alone ventured into it. During the last Movie Club viewing Pepin found this out and promised to get a couple of free turns in.

Today though, she wandered in with the full intention of hosting a little fun marathon for free. Word was spread but it wasn't something she advertised like Paranormal Post and if nobody showed up she was willing to spend a whole day practicing and getting in a good workout.

After flitting around with the device and hacking the credit system the machine boomed out and started flashing its strobes as it lit up the scarecade. Clapping her hands delightedly, Pepin wiggled around on the dance pad before she went over to the door to prop it open. Already there were a few ghouls who'd watched her as she set it up and plowed over to start up a couple rounds and the glitch would not stop them. Grinning she jingled a bag of scarecade seeds and pumpkin seeds for her tournament attendees.

"Alrighty, let's see what everyone's got."

The OOC

Welcome to the DDR (DDD) game! This is not an official event or anything just a fun little game I wanted to host! Since I'm kinda away from the computer for a lot of this week and weekend the game will probably last until midweek next week and prizes will be distributed then.

What are the prizes?

The three highest scores will get a choice of:

-Artwork done by me
or one of my SE's Wishing Crown or Chadderbadders:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
or User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

HOW TO PLAY:

Roll 10 4sided dice. Your total is your score HOWEVER, you do better by getting combos which add to your score. It is up to you to determine how "good" your student has done ICly but their score will still be counted towards the high score list.

Bonus Combos:
- Every 3 consecutive Even or Odds, +3 to your total (can only stack with 3, 6 or 9 in a row.)
- All Odds +15 to your total (ignore +3 bonus)
- All Evens +15 to your total (ignore +3 bonus)

You can play 3 times per day per character but only ONE CHARACTER can be counted towards the high score.

At the end of your post please include the following:
Attempt #:
Minisite name:
Total Score:

Feel free to actually chose a song your student will dance to and include it with your post =] It's preferred that you RP with your post but it doesn't have to be too long. Also you are even more than welcome to rp without playing a round as there's always room for spectating.

((MORT IS SO IN ON THIS ACTION I LOVE YOU KING))

Scarecade wasn't often the place Mort was at. Sure it had some good games, but the noise tended to keep him away. But with the play tryouts coming soon, he needed to be in practice. And, unfortunately, it was a ballet. A ballet.

Which meant dancing.

Yikes.

Mort didn't feel like trying those at-home techniques by searching videos on the Interweb and copying. No, he felt like doing some actual, nerd certified training.

Aaah . . . Good ol' DDD.

He was surprised that a ghoul was offering free rounds in a little contest of hers, and the zombie smiled and thanked her. "Has been while . . . Lesseee . . ." Mort settled himself in the center of the arrows and cycled through the available songs, pondering.

Ah. This would do. Hard difficulty it was!

Never before had a zombie looked so nimble on his feet. Sure, he slipped a couple of times, but Mortimer looked as if he was in a groove, in a "zone" if you would, as he pressed those buttons. A short song, but a favorite. He scratched his head and grinned sheepishly at the A- he got before hopping off.

"S-Still has it. Sorta."

Chuppi had only heard about DDD through listening to others, and maybe watching them come and go, so when she found where people were playing and it came to be her turn to give it a try. . . .well, she figured it would be a good time for her to learn how to move. With the play coming up and all the movement involved in that she would need to get light on her feet, though just how light she could be was beyond the monster.

Looking up and down at the machine she picked one of the easiest songs she could find and turned it on, giving it her best shot. She didn't do nearly as good as the boil before her (Mort could move amazing!) but she didn't think she did too bad? At least she managed to get a combo in there just once, so it wasn't all that bad.

"I...think I could do this again. This isn't so hard."

Levi'd heard about this hoedown of a sort. The ghoul was no stranger to the dance, but ...on a machine? Hadn't been done. The country ghoul took note of the time and place this was going to happen but had never been to the scarecade before. Sure, she knew what it was after hearing Lizzy and Jericho talk about it but- she didn't know her way around the city folk places. Thinking and thinking about it, the tatzel came up with a brilliant plan.

She asked the wrath demon to take her there. It would be a lesson in his training for agility as far as she was concerned. Dancing was a great way, she thought, to loosen up ones movements. C'mon, we'll do'it a few times n' see where ya stand fer movin' them feet. Fancy footwork could do well for dodging and blocking as well as attacking.

She wasn't familiar with the machinery, but sure enough she watched as the other critters gave it a go. When the machine was free, the tatzel immediately took aim to try herself. Arrows at the feet and scrolling through the list of songs, she came to one with a word that stuck out for her: boots. She wasn't too sure how to flip through her options but picked out whatever. Needless to say, she had the jive but wasn't able to time herself with what was going on on screen. She didn't score all that well, but vowed to do better next time as she stepped off the device. Just gettin' started! Have a go, West! Lemme see what ya got! She took on a Master!Trainer pose, crossing her arms and smiling with a furrowed brow. If she had a long beard, she'd be stroking it in thought.

The wrath demon didn't play video games. He barely watched skelevision for Jack's sake. Still, when Levi informed him that they would be participating in some sort of electronic dancing competition to help train him in agility, he resigned himself to the fact that he would be making a complete fool out of himself today. He knew where the scarecade was even though he had never been inside, and he led the tatzel there without argument. It was only once they were near the epilepsy-inducing machine that West began to have second thoughts. Everything here was so... manic, and not in a way he was used to. It was like prom.

He was almost too distracted to pay attention to Levi's flailings, and when she was done he took her place and chose a song with a minimum of fuss. It was only when he started kicking arrows into submission that he noticed that a painfully happy blonde ghoul had jumped up next to him. She was... well built... she greeted him in perhaps the most uncomfortable way possible, and she had wings. Hmm. West missed a few steps watching her out of the corner of his eye, then he slowly manifested his own wings and began stomping in earnest. She would not beat him.

When it was all over, he glanced at his score before practically running back to stand behind the tatzel. His wings were gone again, and he had an expression on his face akin to the one a pathling might wear when faced with an oncoming train. That had been... fun. He really didn't want to say so. Maybe video games had some sort of appeal after all.

"How'd y'do?" he asked Levi instead. "Was too busy bein' disgusted t'see fer m'self."

Freya had been attracted to all the blinkie lights. She'd watched Levi handle herself pretty well, and she was ready to take on the machine herself - but some big, burly, red head had decided to get on instead. Not to be dismayed, Freya hopped onto the left side of the game, determined to play even if it meant playing with a stranger.

"Sup, hottie." She saluted West in this manner, before flailing out her wings behind her and taking on the game with jest. Had she been watching his feet more than the game? Probably, seeing as she hit every step he did, and missed every one he did as well. That was probably not the best way to play, but when she looked up at her score, she thought that she'd done pretty well for her first try!

And then he was gone. What a jerk! Freya huffed, pulling her wings back in and wandering off to find a better game to play.

The scarecade wasn't exactly a well traveled place for the hound, they never had those out in the remote tribe in the woods, but exploring the campus grounds left room for adventure and wonder.

And who could resist all the flashing lights and peculiar sounds? It was no wonder when he wandered in with his green wispy eyes as large as saucers and looked around at the machines. It was so new, so captivating, his ears were flicking all around the place and his tail batted against the 'cade's patrons.
He didn't care, or pay attention.

But what he did notice as he peeked around the corner, was West dashing away from one of the flashing, beeping things and Freya flitted off not long after and pepin had her turn. it was a free game and he couldn't hold back the squeal of delight and hopped onto the thing and gave it a sniff. "Smells like shame and sweat, yuck." it was just horrible, but the screen was so fun! "Maybe I can give it a try." he said and pressed the start button, or at least the screen that the button was on. "OOh!" the screen became a lot more vibrant with more options and after a bit of button mashing, A track began to play and the arrows began to whirl across screen, and his feet followed in a flurry.

"Oh OH OOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUU!" :'D "AGAIN AGAIN!." he cheered the screen, at least up till it said the game was over and he hopped away from it with his legs feeling much like jelly.

"Note to self, must ask RILEY to have one installed in the fitness club room." he said to himself with a nod before wandering around the 'cade to see what else he may have missed.

((Obviously Im not entering for anything xD)) Score: 32

The crowd was beginning to build inside the flashy arcade and Pepin grew more and more excited to see ambitious students taking turns on the device. Floating in midair she tapped her foot against the side of another machine and cheered as Mort got truly into the music and leaned forwards against one of the stereos on the machine to glitch the announcer's glitching into a sped up chipmunk garble.

"Aw yea go boil!!" she cheered for the zombie then shot Chuppi a peace sign upon her attempt.

Next a cute cowghoul with a long winding tail and her apparent boilfriend exchanging challenges was enthralling. As someone who got pretty serious about the vidya games she sneered in pleasure at the competition, though it was not something uncharacteristic for the two.

It was when Freya had gone and left that she pouted. "Aw guys, you were all doing so good!" >: Pouting she lept up on the mat and started to writhe and jiggle, the machine fidgeting through the song selection until she found this jack-awfully bouncy little beat. Usually into dubstep and grungier music she wanted to attract her little group of dancers back.

Pepin threw her hands up and danced without even looking at the arrows. One could easily determine she cheated through the machine to achieve ANY score at all.

She hadn't picked up the snarky comment made by West as she was trying to sidetrack from the thought that he'd done better than she had at the scoring part. The ghoul who moved to dance beside West looked like she had a good sense of things as well. Heh. The wrath demon must have felt his ego deflating as he popped out his wings just as he had when he was losing to her that time. There was something said but she couldn't hear over the music. Eh? Nevermind how I did, we're lookin' at yer footwork today.

She paused. Ain't bad though. She couldn't shake the thought that this was still a challenge for her, but a sign of respect for his show of determination had to be given in this case. There would only be one way to settle it and she moved to take on the machine again when another two students climbed on up instead. One was the hound and the other the ghoul from the hallway ...

Levi smiled wide at seeing Demi take to the dancing machine is a wild way. Nice goin', Rex! kekekeke~ He was eager to go again and she didn't blame him any; it was fun to dance. No critter would need to explain that aspect to the ghoul. Watching the glitch ghoul, Levi raised a brow at how too well she was doing. Well ya sure seem ta know yer beats! No seein' required, eh?

When the way looked clear again, the tatzel grabbed onto West's forearm and pulled at him to follow. Let's see... somethin' before 'nother critter gets on up. Doin' it side-by-side seems ta work pretty well. He only did better than her because the ghoul was there to coach his moves; this was definitely the reason for his dancing. Even though she'd seen him win for dancing at prom. There was no way he was going to out-dance her. Technology or no technology. Getting onto the metal arrow pad again, she scrolled through the listing and came to a song befitting of the winged demon. She smirked when the song started and watched the arrows. This was definitely a better attempt than her last. Her legs and feet ran hot while moving at the quick pace of the moves. Phew. Keeping to the beat as best as she could, she sometimes strayed over to his side of the screen, trying to check his score. Dangit! It would cost her another full combo. The game made shootouts for when you were doing particularly well or had a combo, she realized.

When the song ended, she chuckled and stepped off after nodding to her screen in comparison to his. Still'a good try. Got room f'improvement f 'sure. She tilted her head at the wrath demon. N' it's some workout, eh? Gettin' tired any? If she was feeling the burn, she was certain he would be too. These songs took more to dance to than they let on.

When Demi took his turn West ignored the boil's enthusiasm as hard as he could. He hoped he hadn't looked like such a fool when he had been up there. He probably had.

Or maybe he had looked like this next ghoul. She, um, must have done this a lot.

West scowled at Levi when she grabbed his arm and dragged him up toward the game. He was slightly suspicious about the fact that she wouldn't tell him her score, but he supposed it didn't matter. The game had awakened his woefully stunted competitive spirit, at least for the moment, and he was sure he could beat her again... if he'd beaten her the first time. Or something.

He frowned and rolled his eyes at her choice of song, but once the music started, West became fully engrossed in a minute and a half of arrow-stomping goodness. He didn't even think to use his wings this time. When the song was over, he looked up at her screen, any of the excitement he had felt while playing leaching away.

"Room fer improvement, peh," he growled, stepping off of the machine and crossing his arms. "I did better last time!" Obviously he had needed the wings after all. "I'm not tired," he lied, narrowing his eyes at the ghoul. "Once more."

Mort gave Pepin a large smile as he wiped at his forehead, rather winded from his try but nonetheless excited. For once, he wasn't nervous about the incoming group of people, and in fact looked rather at peace with himself - well, as at peace as someone can be while dancing in place along to each song. The groove, man, it was the groove.

Also the chipmunk voice had been hilarious. "Good job!" he said to each person as they went up, especially Chuppi, who he felt always needed the extra encouragement. When Freya stepped up, the zombie grinned and cheered her on as well, dismayed when the valkyrie huffed and left. Like Pepin, he wanted to attract a large group to this obviously amazingly awesome awesome sauce that was DDD. But her look was enough to keep Mort away . . . Maybe she'd come back later! The scarecade did have quite a few games after all.

"How you do that?" he asked Pepin when she finished her turn, wondering at the score and the . . . incongruent manner of her dancing. Was she . . . Was she messing the hardware up somehow? o3o

Zurine had been attracted by the sound of music wafting from the area..was there a party going on that she didn't know about? Either way she was here to find out and approaching the small group she watched as a couple boils and ghouls took their turns.

"That looks like fun" She stated as she drew closer and when the machine was free she decided to take a turn at it, She was a bit hesitant at first and nearly tripped one in typical Zurine fashion but in the end she managed to get a score she at least wasn't horribly embarrassed by. "Intresting" She stated as she moved away from the machine to let someone else take a turn. Perhaps she could pick up a few tips before she tried again.

When Mot addressed her, Pepin leaned against another scarecade machine and panted. Despite sillying up the game she probably wore herself out even more than if she'd play for real.

"MAGIC!" She replied charismatically.

Wriggling in the air she repeated her dance then bent forwards holding her chest. "Aahh not a good idea to do magic though.. ehhh... " she gasped.

"Magic?" Mortimer parroted back with the voice of an awed scareling. "Wow . . . Is jelly! What is name?" He'd never seen a reaper or demon like her before! In fact, she looked . . . funny. Like weird funny. The zombie's brain hummed with electricity as he pondered over these findings for all the span of five seconds - that was when he recognized a certain pink figure take the game on.

And then the poor ghoul tripped once or twice. Mort winced as the score bar went down, but by the time Zurine came off the dance floor he was smiling once again, offering a high five. "Ever p-play before?" he asked. "I-If not, was not bad for first try."

Zurine hadn't noticed Mort in the crowd until she was stepping off and beaming she accepted the high five, sure her score wasn't great but it had been fun and having fun was always worth celebrating as far as Zurine was concerned. The zombie was talking to someone she hadn't met before but she offered her a smile of greeting anyways.

"Nope" She answered the zombies question "But it was fun, I might try again in a little bit, want to watch some other people first. maybe pick up some tips" She added with a slight laugh..and of course rest because now that the exhilaration of playing was starting to wear off she was realizing that the game was indeed quite tiring.
