Why had she agreed to go with him, why? The elderly lioness followed suit behind a black and white male that she had left the company of Durin, a strict, but still sweet, lion for. Her pale blue eyes looked up towards Jarkevaa, her childhood friend, unsure if she should say anything about the pace they were taking.
Walking. There had been so much walking over the last few days and little rest when they did. She was old, she could not travel as much as he, but still she bit her tongue and said nothing. He had, after-all, traveled so far just to see her once more.
Aether on the otherhand was in a much better mood then the lioness he had yet to meet. He had heard rumors that his mother was in the area from a mouse he had caught for a quick morning meal. There was a sense of lightness to his step as he moved over the dry grass. Perhaps he'd find someone else who could actually point him in the direction of his winger mother instead of just telling him that she was around. A small string of curses came whispered from his maw. He would find her one day and make her accept him as her son. He would!

The day had started out a fine one. It was a cool morning, he had a good nights rest, and had even managed to catch a meal within a decent amount of time without making a fool of himself. All in all Jarkevaa was enjoying this day, as he was also graced with the presence of an old friend. It was much nicer having a companion to travel with than only one’s self. He glanced back over his shoulder, grinning at the lighter female. “It is such a lovely day, is it not? I could travel twice as far on such nice days as this.” He was not completely serious about the travelling further, though he did entertain the thought for a moment in his mind.

"Yes, lovely indeed." Kujali tried to mask the sarcasm in her voice though it was hard to truly hide. She wasn't completely sure if she should be mad at him for suddenly showing up and causing a fuss that had ended up with her leaving Durin or be glad to be rid of the brown lion. Either way, she hadn't rested much the night before as this rest was not what she was used to. "When exactly do we plan on resting again?"
Aether was in a similar mood to Jarkevaa, believing himself to be able to walk for days on end if it meant finding his mother in the end. He would find her even if he had to look to the ends of the earth. The violet male's brow dropped and furrowed at the thought. She could easily avoid him forever if she wanted, keeping him chasing forever. The realization of that cause his teeth to grind against one another as he walked on, scarcely realizing that there was a pair of lines walking directly towards him.

Jarkevaa raised a brow towards her, slowing his pace to match hers so as to walk at her side. “Surely you can’t be tired already, we haven’t been walking for that long.” It then struck that she may not be used to this. He had been wandering around all his life, he was used to walking for much of the day, but she had been living in one spot for who knows how long and was likely not as up to the pace. Age probably wasn’t helping either with that fact. “Well we can take a break for a while.” He turned his head to scan the area. “There, over there. I think I see some water. We can rest and get ourselves a drink.” It wasn’t a big watering hole, and there wasn’t much shade, but the cool morning had so far not called for it’s need and it would have to do otherwise.

Kujali's face softened. He had at least realized that she was older then he and could not keep the quick pace that the dark lion was obviously used to. Of course she followed after him though, keeping her eyes on the area he had motioned to. Water did sound lovely at this point, that's for sure. As they arrived and she leaned to drink from the small pool in the crisp morning air, her ears and then eyes caught sight of what looked to be a purple feline walking towards the pair. Perhaps he was searching for the same bit of liquid that they had found?
The god-born mortal sighed once more having not seen any sign of inhabitants in the area for as long as he had been walking. Maybe this was a plagued area and everything had abandoned it in hopes of avoiding a sickness! Aether grimaced at the thought, but quickly pushed it out of his head. He felt fine, there was no need to worry. Silver eyes looked towards the horizon and shockingly, he spotted the exact lioness that was already looking back towards him.
"Hello there!" Aether called out, picking up his pace to jog towards the two. "I don't suppose you've seen any winged lions around here?"

Jarkevaa came to rest beside the water as well, leaning over to drink from the pool. It was certainly refreshing after walking for such a long time. He had not noticed the other lion until a voice called out, and though he raised his gaze to spot a purple lion he continued to drink from the pool for a short time after. After taking his fill of water he sat up, watching as the purple lion came nearer them. “I can not say that I have seen such a sight around here, sorry.” He glanced over at Kujali then back to the other male. “Why is it you are searching for such a lion?”

"I heard from my morning meal that there was one around here. My mother happens to match the description I was given." Aether's ears turned back, his expression dropping as he hear they had not seen her. He would find her some day. One day! The purple lion moved to the opposite side of the small pool, taking a bit of a drink before raising his head once more. "If you do see something matching that description, would you tell her that Aether searches for her?"
Kujali nodded with a soft smile. "Of course, Aether." As she assumed that was his name as he was the one who searched for her. "We'll tell your mother you're looking for her if we happen to find anyone matching that description."

Jarkevaa nodded in agreement with what Kujali had said. “Yes, we will be sure to tell her you are looking for her should we come across her. Sorry we could not be of more help to you. You are welcome to rest with us a while though, if you should like. I’m sure neither Kujali nor I would mind the extra company for a bit.” He put on a friendly grin, hoping this lion might accept. If he did Jark was quite tempted to ask him about this winged lion mother of his. He had never seen such a thing himself and it sounded quite interesting a story.

"I might just take you up on that offer, actually." Aether had been traveling for some time and had taken little time to actually rest. His desire to find his mother to learn more of his own family drove him on, even through exhaustion.
"Well, ask Jarkevaa said, you are welcome here if you like. We own nothing, but share everything." Kujali said, the smile still staying on her face. "I am Kujali, old friend to Jarkevaa here who I am sure with his desire to travel and learn of things would love to hear about this mother of yours that you are searching for." Of course she was trying to poke at least a little fun at the black lion even if it had actually been the truth. She wouldn't lie though, she was curious about this winged lion as well.

Jarkevaa chuckled. “I won’t deny that I am very much curious to hear more about this mother of yours. I have never come across a winged lion in my travels, so to hear such a thing actually exists is quite interesting. Not only that but to actually come across someone who knows of one, and is in fact son to this winged lioness? Certainly piqued my interests.” He lay himself down by the water, paws dipping lightly in to the water from his position. “If you would care to share anything I would love to hear about it, and I am sure Kujali would as well.” He quirked a brow at her, smiling lightly. He was sure she was just as interested to hear as he, as this was quite a curious thing to come across. His attention fell back to the purple lion, eager to hear anything he would share.
