Hobbies:
Sewing - Lad finds sewing very soothing. And fun. And well, frankly, sometimes it's just easier to sew up the things she needs than try to go buy them. Let's see you find an outfit for a small puppet at WalMart the day before a performance. Lad can guarantee that she's been there, done that and never wants to go through it again. Besides that, she's good at sewing. She makes some of her own clothes, sews together plushie toys that she uses for gifts or to sell at a craft fair, she even made her costume for Halloween last year. But she draws the line at sewing her own underwear. Some things are meant to be purchased from a reputable retailer.
Puppeteering - Growing up, Lad had two great loves. Jim Henson and his Muppets. Some of the best lessons growing up were the ones of love, kindness and honesty that were imparted by giant yellow birds, little green frogs and humor impaired ursines. Granted, Jim Henson died when Lad was only three years old (and according to her parents, the news that 'Kermit's Daddy' had died reduced her tiny self to tears), but his creations lived on. And her soul drank them up. As she got older, she began making her own puppets, at first out of socks, paper lunch bags and googly eyes. Then, it was bits of her mother's scrap fabric and yarn and a ping pong ball stolen from her father. She took her creations and put on shows for the neighborhood kids. Lad still isn't as good as her idol (in her own opinion), but she's getting there. And someday, she'll be a Muppeteer worthy of Henson's legacy.
Acting/Singing - Besides hiding behind a puppet, Lad also adores singing and acting. Acting to help her develop her timing and ability to control what emotions people hear and singing, well... just because. Lad's a warbler and would be lost without being able to belt out a tune at the drop of a hat. Singing comes naturally. And thankfully for her potential audiences, she's actually pretty good at it.
Virtues:
Nuturing/Caring - Lad cares about the state of the world around her. So much so that it hurts her at times. She has a strong desire to shelter and protect the world from ugly realities and when she can't, she tears up, weeps a little weep and then tries something else. Due to this nurturing streak, she's majoring in childhood education in the hopes that once she achieves her dreams, she'll be able to make the difference the world needs to become a better and more beautiful place.
Optimistic - Some people seem to have been born perpetually cheerful. Lad is one of those people. Had she not been home schooled, she likely would have wound up on the Cheer Squad in high school. She is cheerful, bubbly and convinced that while bad things may happen, amazingly awesome things happen more often to make up for it. Lad's clouds don't just have silver lining. They have iridescently rainbow linings made of sheer amazballs.
Ambitious - Lad sees life as a twisting, winding path curving off into the ether. And those curves are the challenges that make having ambitions so very sweet. And Lad does have ambitions. Becoming a Muppeteer isn't her only goal in life, though it is currently the biggest. She throws herself wholeheartedly into everything she does that furthers her life's goals and feels that in doing so, she is becoming a better, more well rounded person.
Forthright - When you are growing up and your main teachers are your parents and Sesame Street, you learn very quickly that honesty and directness are noble qualities. When you are home schooled and determined to be the best person you can be, lying and prevaricating are simply not options. Not when a lie could hurt people or earn you a spanking with a time out in the corner. Lad is unfailingly, unflinchingly honest and direct. She simply sees no reason not to be. Even if the truth gets her into trouble, she will still be honest and take her knocks as they come. Why should she do otherwise? The world is chock full of examples of what happens when people are less than honest. And well. Look at the state of the world now. Lad rests her case.
Flaws:
One Track Mind - In the midst of her ambitions, Lad sometimes loses sight of the bigger picture, focusing so hard on one thing that several other, equally important things have passed her by. This isn't such a problem when it comes to schoolwork, or at least it wasn't when her mother was teaching her. But out in the real world, she focuses so hard on her goals and her work that she's neglected friends and family. She's narrowly avoided failing a class when she was so busy thinking about one test question, that she missed seeing the essay question that made up half of her final grade.
Brutal Honesty - Honesty is a fine quality. However, due to her upbringing, Lad never really learned that sometimes honesty is NOT always the best policy in life. And when she, with all the best intentions, flat out tells someone her honest opinion, she doesn't stop to think of tact or temporizing. And then she wonders why on earth the truth just sent someone running from her presence in tears. That the truth can wound, when she has always believed that truth is freeing, is an utterly alien concept to her.
Naive/Gullible - Growing up schooled by hippie parents and without the benefit of experiencing schoolyard politics, Lad is shockingly gullible. Growing up, all the bad people she was taught about made their evil intentions obvious. There were no smiling, sneaky bastards to teach her to be careful of who and what to trust. As such, Lad tends to fall prey to manipulative classmates and con artists. Granted, she is starting to learn that bad things can come in a pretty package, but it's an uphill battle.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Light, peachy-pink-orange (similar in color to the skin of a white peach).
Hair:
Color - Dark sable brown with one or two streak of bright purple pink in the lower portion of the ponytail
Length/Style - Waist length, wavy hair worn in a side ponytail with some strands escaping to frame the face. Brightly colored hairties and one or two cute barrettes are worn.

Face: Celtic pale, heart shaped face, smattering of pale golden freckles across her nose and cheeks, average looking nose, average sized ears, but the tips should look slightly folded/creased as if they'd been pointy and folded over when she was a baby. Full lips, usually smiling widely. Habitually wears light gold eye liner and soft apricot lip gloss.
Body: 6'5", 180-190lbs, wiry/spidery build with soft/subtle curves. Celtic pale skin and pale golden freckles randomly smattered across chest/back, arms and legs.
Other: Lip piercing (ring style), three ear piercings on each ear, all up in the cartilage (small, white gold hoops with minty green beads). Tattoo on her left shoulder of Robin the Frog with the words 'Just One Person' forming a partial circle around him.
Clothes: Eclectic and eccentric. Lad favors outfits along the lines of knee high striped pastel rainbow socks, black combat boots, denim cutoff shorts and tshirts ordered off of Woot or TeeFury. She is also never without a white gold bracelet with a small Kermit the Frog charm.

Top -- Short-sleeved, mid thigh length linen tunic color of undyed muslin, should have a square, slightly off the shoulders neckline.
Bottoms -- Goldy-cream leggings/stockings
Gloves -- None
Belt -- Cincher in dark brown and cream
Shoes -- Lace up "boots" in dark brown - Ref
Shoulders -- None
Accessories -- Dark brown leather vambraces (silver button should be replaced by gold Earth symbol and small gold buttons), gold Earth symbol hair clip attached to ponytail, brown leather cord necklace with a few forest green beads and gold earth symbols (I would like this to be mostly leather cord and not a lot of beading.)

Effect - Purely defensive, this spell creates a 'wall' of shimmering, rippling air between Brocéliande and an enemy, allowing her or an ally to make an escape. The wall lasts for perhaps half a minute and creates a weak illusion of Brocéliande or an ally moving off in a different direction. The wall doesn't move to touch anyone, simply sitting there, though if a hand were put out, the person would feel a springy, though strong barrier. Looking out through the barrier is like looking out through a thin waterfall.
• Knight: Weapon - Carved Oaken Quarterstaff
---- Spell - Prison of Winds
Effect - Similar to the above, except now the wall lasts for a full minute. Additionally, the illusion has strengthened to make the ground where Brocéliande and up to 2 allies stood appear empty while they make their getaway. The barrier still does not move, but if an enemy attempts to move through it, they are gently, but inexorably pushed back and while they are touching the barrier, it feels as through strong winds are moving around them.
