With a good night's sleep, Cada woke feel refreshed and less burdened. His mind was clear and his usual cheerful demeanor had surfaced with quite a bit of energy. Even finding the eight legged critters skittering around across his sheets didn't bother him that much as he sat up gently so as not to knock them over. "Good morning." He offered cheerful with a stretch. He padded across the room quietly peeking out of the door for any signs of life. He couldn't hear anything but figured the remaining residence would awaken soon.

And so he cleaned up, put a new pair of clothing and quickly made his way down the hall into the main room. He didn't see anyone around so headed for the kitchen to make some coffee and maybe get some breakfast started once he figured out where everything was located.

The kitchen was old and very big, with high ceilings and cupboards that still looked in need of a good paintjob. It was clean and workable, but you could see parts that needed an extra bit of tender loving care. The teen dust would not be there long before a silent figure would appear in the doorway to greet him.

Alerted of his waking by her spider horde, Anise stood staring at Cadaver with her big, ruby eyes. She covered her uncertainty with a glower, hanging back in the shadows. Was he still angry with her? Would he leave if she spoke to him?

“Alexander has gone to work.” She said eventually. “He won’t be back until the afternoon.”

He had felt her presence as she moved into the room, it was hard not to miss. Somehow he wondered if she even knew that she was giving off such a demanding aura. He smiled letting her speak as he moved about the kitchen. Setting things to work he hoped his cooking had gotten better, he'd only had a few lessons from Krinn and the rest was self taught by trial and error and plenty of burnt down kitchens. When she informed him that Alex had already left he decided to only make enough for two.

He worked in silence for a moment letting her stew in her thoughts the eggs were easy enough and so was the toast. Bacon was another matter turn burn or not to burn. He only hoped he didn't burn them this time. A kettle of water was being boiled on the fire just as he turned to give Anise a stern gaze. He studied her only a moment before returning to the bacon. So she didn't even bother with a greeting let alone an apology. He sighed and pulled the bacon from the pan to place a portion on two different plates along with the eggs and some toast. "Do you drink coffee?"

“No.”

Anise had watched him work without saying a work, her gaze following him across the room without blinking. She had never had to apologise for anything before. It was a new concept and not something that came naturally. Even having had a night to think it over, Anise was still struggling with what she had done wrong.

She climbed up onto a stool at the kitchen table, crossing her legs and rearranging her dress.

“I would like orange juice.” She said and then quickly added with a frown, “…please.”

Cadaver didn't bother addressing the child on the matter, he was still angry maybe a little hurt but she was still young. These were things Alex should teach her, it just didn't seem right for him to step over his boundaries. At least with asking for some orange juice she thought to do so politely. He took the freshly squeezed juice, pouring some in a cup an setting it next to her plate. When she was all set he poured himself a bit of coffee, extra sugar and lots of milk.

It would remain considerably quiet while they ate, Cada had nothing to say to the young dust and he already ruled out getting anything from her in return. Oh well a quiet breakfast wasn't all that bad.

Anise poked the food around her plate. She nibbled here and there, sipped at her orange juice and generally just made a big unappealing jumble of egg and bacon. She liked silence. Silence and darkness were both beautiful things. But she did not like this silence.

When Cadavar continued to say nothing, she fought back a pout. A spider wandered too close to her plate and she squished it down with her finger. Not enough to kill the insect, but it scurried away missing a leg. The rest of the spiders left the table top in a hurry.

Eventually she was simply unable to keep quiet anymore. “I was only trying to help you.” And then in a quieter voice. “I don’t want you to be angry at me.”

Cada watched her while she poked at her food. He had to work really hard not to giggle, she was for lack of anything better to say, cute! So she did get nervous and fidgety. Still he was rather upset with her, maybe not angry but definitely miffed.

When she attacked one of the spiders he almost reached out a hand to stop her but the little critter salvaged what was left of his limbs and scurried away. Thank goodness. At her sudden outburst he blinked. What was this? In some ways he probably would have been even more miffed but here was a proud child trying in her own way to reconcile the situation. He wondered if he stayed quiet longer would she actually apologize, for real?

Nah! She didn't seem the type that would crumble to such things and he wasn't the type to remain mad at someone for longer than a day. He moved over to pat her on the head before scooping her off the chair. "I'm not angry. I am a bit upset lil' spider, even I have my secrets that I'd like to keep. It's only fair." For whatever reason she had an unhealthy obsession with wanting to know everything about everyone. Well it was to be expected she was still young but he couldn't indulge her. "If you promise not to pry I'll forgive you. Do you promise?" He asked sternly.

When Cadavar moved around the table to scoop her off the chair, Anise was filled with a sudden rush of relief. She was obstinate and proud, and if he had continued to refuse her attempts at reconciling, she would not have known what to do it fix it. She wrapped her arms around her neck and smiled.

After a moment she nodded at his request. “If you wish, I won’t ask you about it anymore.” She did not like her friend keeping secrets, but she would respect his wishes… for the moment. Her spiders would still be watching. “I promise.”

She wriggled in his grip, silently asking to be put down again. “This means you will stay longer, right? Alexander is always busy working and spiders do not hold very interesting conversation. They just agree to everything I say.”

Cada giggled his usual good cheer. Nah he couldn't stay mad for long and she just demanded way too much for him to put up much of a fight. He was glad for her promise, it meant a lot and he would hold her to it. Although it was hard to have privacy in a house full of eight legged critters. He sighed while allowing Anise to the ground.

"I haven't spoken with Alex about my arrangements but if he doesn't mind I'll stay longer." He just hoped the older man was okay with it. Cada would never do anything to harm Anise but was it really proper to have another male in the house with her.... He looked around suddenly noticing something he hadn't. "Oh yeah! You are alone." Spiders or not, Anise needed someone more tangible to keep her company and watch over her. What if someone tried to break in the house while Alex was gone? Spiders could only do so much to protect her.

"Don't worry I'll have a nice long chat with him about it. Until then, is there anything you'd like to do?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 27, 2011 8:53 pm

Once she had her feet firmly on the ground again, she fussed with her only slightly rumpled dress until she was satisfied. “Oh, he won’t mind.” Anise replied absently. Why would he mind? He liked Cadaver too. It hardly made any sense to toss your friend out into the street.

“Never alone. Just bored.” She went back to perching on her stool, picking up the glass of orange juice and giving a dainty sip. “Hm.” Anise pondered the last question carefully. “I will show you the house so you don’t get lost.”

He thought about it a moment then decided, "Let me revise that, I meant what is it that you do here?" She might not see herself alone but Cada wasn't so frivolous to think otherwise. "Do you play any games?" This was a pretty big place what kinds of games could she play that didn't involve the spiders?
PostPosted: Sun Nov 27, 2011 9:13 pm

“Oh…” If she was honest, Anise didn’t really do much at all. As for games, they had never really been her style. She was not one for childish fun and playing by herself in the big house had not appealed to her in the slightest. “No. I watch people during the day… from the window. At night I walk around the house. Sometimes I read or fix Alexander’s clothing. He’s terrible at sewing.”

"Ah..." He breathed trying to take in everything. He wasn't sure if he could keep to himself for long. Being stuck indoors was so boring and having no one to conversate with would make him go crazy. "So you don't get out much? " He asked, "That can't be good, do you... go out at all?" He had remembered a time where Alex had to take her to the festival in a carriage. Then an idea came to his mind but he wasn't sure if she'd like it. He really didn't want to stay indoors all day but he surely didn't want to upset her. "Can we sit on the stoop outside. We won't go anywhere further than that but I'd like to get a bit of sun if you don't mind. It's a really nice day."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 28, 2011 8:01 pm

“Oh…” Anise frowned “I go out at night sometimes. I came out to the shed to find you. Remember?” That was big for her and she was proud of herself whenever she got that far. At his suggestion she looked apprehensive, giving a small shake of her head. “I don’t really like the sun.” She announced; smothering her nerves with her usual demanding tone. “You can go if you want. I’ll wait inside for you.”

Aw! He wanted her to spend time with him, staying cooped in the house was so annoying. Giving her a side long glance he figured it was better to leave her be but be had not seen her in quite some time. With a forlorn sigh he went to the porch glad that the icky weather was gone. Looking at the tool shed he really did feel that his judgement was off, a low chuckle found him at the thought.

"Anise? Can u come to the door?" He hoped she'd do that much for him it was so lonely and boring.
