Be sure to read the OoC thread before making a character here. Lots of info in there!

Character Creation Guidelines

1. If you want, put in which game your character draws inspiration on in the equipment and abilities sections. Some things behave differently from game to game. You don’t have to be entirely faithful, but the basics of the thing shouldn’t change. For example, the Coral Sword in FFI is a weapon that is strong against Water monsters. If you use it, it should keep that characteristic.

2. If you want to use something from FFX and beyond, or from a spin-off game, definitely mention where it’s from. This is because I might not be familiar with that particular item, class, or summon.

3. I will not accept Kingdom Hearts as a source for any material. Even if it does draw from Final Fantasy, it is too different for this game. I will accept Final Fantasy Tactics or Dissida, though.

4. As for a character’s age, there’s a really wide acceptable range; Palom and Porom are five years old, for goodness sake. However, it should make sense with your character’s class. A basic class has free range; the previous examples are a Black Mage and White Mage. A specialized class should be older; Kain is a Dragoon at 21 years old. On the other end of the scale, there’s Tellah the Sage at 70 years old.

5. Since it is a Final Fantasy staple, I will allow you to play royalty. Exceptions are King and Queen Arwen, King Ironblade, and any of Mysidia’s council. A son/daughter of Lyonel is also possible.

6. I would rather there only be one character per class: one white mage, one knight, etc. That being said, if you want to cross-class, your primary class would be what counted as one-PC-per-class. But please PM me about cross-classing characters first, as I'll deny some combos. One character per player at first.

7. You may go ahead and post your sheets straight into this thread, or PM them to me if you want to check on something. If you do post directly, I may PM you if something is unclear or unacceptable.

8. I don't mind pictures or posting styles, but be aware that I don't accept pictures in place of written description.

Name: Krysan
Gender: male
Age: ???
Race: Human
Class: Magic Emperor

Description: Paintings of Krysan reveal that he must have used blood magic to remain youthful looking. He seems to be in his late-twenties and in good physical condition. His fair skin is unblemished, although many spells were tattooed all over his body in black ink. This includes a tattoo of a downward pointing dagger that appears over his left eye. His eyes are blood red and his hair is a bright violet, usually portrayed as hanging loose down to the middle of his back. While he seems to be extraordinary looking in paintings, it is unknown how accurate they are. But written records do confirm the violet hair and the body tattoos.

Personality: All kinds of horror stories exist of Krysan’s reign of terror. They say that he was vain and self-absorbed, giving judgments based on whim rather than logic. They say that he was paranoid and defensive, hence all the permanent spells protecting and extending his life. As he understood how the world worked, he was practical in some ways, like not destroying farmland and useful facilities. But he would punish and humiliate people publicly, to dissuade rebellion. If he liked you, then you would die quickly. If not, you would be killed slowly, or he would torture someone you loved instead. But if you were useful, you might be brainwashed or turned undead to be an unquestioningly loyal slave. And while he knew much, he didn’t care about the fate of the rest of the world. As long as he was in power and in charge, he did not care.

History
: According to legends, Krysan started as a young mage knight in the Kingdom of Arwen. At the time, the King of Arwen was a greedy man who was at war with Mysidia and various smaller kingdoms, trying to take over the whole continent. Krysan rose through the ranks quickly as a ruthless fighter and leader, singlehandedly conquering some castles and Mysidian towns. While the King praised him, he was also suspicious of the young knight. He tried to control the young man by giving his daughter to Krysan in marriage, then trying to kill him. On that day, no one is certain what happened. But at the end of it, the old King, the Princess, and nearly the whole court had been slaughtered, leaving Krysan as the new King of Arwen.

Following that, Mysidia fell, soon followed by Gunthar. He took their Crystals as soon as he could reach them. Then Krysan took on the ancient civilization of Lefien, a race that had cut itself off from the rest of the world and was rumored to be much more advanced than others. Yet the man now known as the Magic Emperor managed to conquer them too, nearly wiping them out entirely. He then moved his court to the southern palace, which he built up to be even greater than before.

That left just Pryce. The various tribes, city-stations, and small nations of the last continent fought as hard as they could, assisted some by rebels from other lands. But once Krysan stole the Crystal of Water, the whole land fell swiftly under his control. The lands of the Lefien continent turned into wasteland, then began to drain of life even further, eventually forming the Deadly Wastes.

After over two centuries of global domination, a rebellion against Krysan was finally successful. A band of slaves working in the Grand Palace managed to steal the Crystals and return them to their Shrines. Thus began the Ten-Year War of Rebellion, in which the whole world turned on Krysan to destroy his tyranny. It did not end as gloriously as people would have liked. Krysan ended up banished into the Deadly Wastes instead of definitely killed. But his power was broken and the world returned to peace.

Nearly a year ago, sailors started seeing lights and activity in the Grand Palace. And six months ago, a scout on a ship claimed to have seen a figure much like Krysan on the beaches of the Deadly Wastes, through his telescope. No one is certain of this, but the rumors have spread around the world and people are worried.

Name: Lyonel
Gender: male
Age: 67 (early middle age for an elf)
Race: Elf
Class: Bard

Description: Lyonel is a typical elf, with fair skin, pointed ears, a slender frame, and a little under five feet tall. He has dark emerald green hair with asymmetrical bangs and a rattail that is tightly bound in a little braid. He has a long nose and sky blue eyes, which is fairly attractive to other elves. He has fairly small feet.

Now that he’s back in society, Lyonel wears fairly nice clothing. A white tunic, brown pants, and a green and yellow overcoat make up his typical attire, along with leather boots and a three-pointed yellow hat with a green band. He wears a gold ring with a Celtic braid pattern; it’s a wedding ring, which is the only reason he knows that he’s married. If he’s not playing his harp, it’s hooked onto a clip on his belt or in a case in his travel bag.

Personality: Lyonel may be a bard, but he’s at his most out-going when singing and performing. When he’s being himself, he’s quiet and introverted. He doesn’t voice strong opinions and doesn’t like to cause trouble. He is friendly and most people who talk with him come away with a positive impression. He is patient and thinks things through rather than act impulsively. When it comes to his friends, he is loyal and understanding. He isn’t ashamed to admit when he is afraid, which causes some people to label him a coward.

When he does sing, it is with passion. He is excellent at portraying emotions and causing others to empathize even if they don’t know the words of his songs. He knows a great many old ballads and tunes, even if he can’t say when or where he learned them. While he will play whatever songs are requested, he most likes challenging tunes and songs of great heroes.

Due to his amnesia, Lyonel sometimes gets confused and disoriented, especially when something familiar from his old life is around. He can remember things on occasion, which is a hopeful sign that he might regain his memories someday. This confusion makes him nervous, so he focuses his attention on freeing the High Espers. To help himself, he keeps a journal in his bag with things that he knows and remembers. This journal includes a map with the locations of the cursed Espers, which came from the oracle he received help from.

History: At one time, Lyonel was married, and a father. But four years ago, Lyonel was returning to his home in Mysidia from Pryce when his ship was overtaken by pirates. He doesn’t know what happened. In fact, he has amnesia for everything past four years ago when he awoke among wreckage on a deserted island. He managed to survive, as well as find a harp with his name carved on it.

While on the island, he impressed a local spirit with his playing and was rewarded with the song-spell Clarity. He was picked up three months ago by a trading vessel that had come to the island in search of a particular kind of pearl. They took Lyonel back to the lands of Mysidia, where he traveled and tried to find out who he was. When visiting an oracle, he was informed that Clarity might have an effect on the cursed High Espers. He then made a journey into the Spirit Lands to search for one. Strange monsters attacked him and he barely won the battle alone. Then he found a stone form and used Clarity. However, it turned out to be a regular Esper, Asura, not one of the High Espers. While she healed his wounds and gave him an item to summon her with, she said that he should find some help before searching for the others, as they were guarded by much tougher creatures. He agreed and went to Caldor in search of adventurers.

Weapon: A Lamia Harp, it can inflict Confuse status on victims. (IV)
Armor: His overcoat functions as armor, of a light variety; it has good magical defense, but not so much for physical.
Equipment: Goddess Pendant (Summons Asura for Cure 3, Shield, or damage, her IV form)

Magic: Clarity (a unique spell which acts as a powerful Esuna, used to uncurse the High Espers), Lullaby (has a chance of putting anyone who hears it to sleep), Hymn (like Regen while song plays), War Song (empowers allies), Bloody Ballad (deals minor damage consecutively to all foes). (The song-spells are mostly from FFT)
Skills: Sing- Sings a song that inflicts statuses on enemies at random (IV)
Summons: N/A

Other: This is a better example.
