Kerke lay splayed over a long rock, huffing lightly to himself. He couldn’t believe he had been sent off in such a manner. It wasn’t the first time a lady had smacked him, but it was certainly the first time he had been smacked only to find said female had run off. “Did I offend the lady?” Kerke spoke to himself, trying to work out why she had reacted so. “Perhaps I did or said something wrong without realizing it, she may have gotten angry enough to strike out.” He rolled over and off the rock, gaze shifting up to watch a large bird soar by. “Or maybe it was that I came on too strongly. Maybe though,” Kerke wondered as he descended the grassy hill, “Maybe she just didn’t like me.”

The thought was met by a chuckle, that surely could not be it. Kerke was a likable guy, there was almost no one that really hated him, at least that he knew of. Some might think him a bit annoying or some such nonsense, but surely they did not hate him. However perhaps his intentions had been seen in some different way that she didn’t like and she really didn’t like him, or was at least quite upset by something he had done. He quickened his pace as he made his way towards a small watering hole, the thoughts still mulling over in his mind. He could possibly find her and make some sort of apology for whatever it was that he did to make her so upset, though that required actually being able to locate her. She could be anywhere by now, and he was not much of a tracker himself.

Kerke took a break at the water’s edge, crouching to drink. Once had had his fill he stood and peered at the water’s surface at his reflection. A lop-sided grin spread across his maw. Well she certainly could not think him an ugly fellow, he was obviously a handsome cheetah. Who would not want to be around this beautiful face. He turned away from the water, trotting off across the open grasses. If by some chance he came across her he would definitely apologize. “Hmm, what does one say to apologize?” Kerke rolled his gaze upwards, ears flicking back as he tried to think. He had no idea what it was that he had done, so how was he to say sorry for it? Maybe if he said sorry for everything he might have done wrong, perhaps such a general apology would be fine. He hoped so anyways, he didn’t like leaving on bad terms, especially with a lady, though his cheek stung wondering if she would smack him again.

With a huff and a puff of his chest though he tossed the thought aside. He wasn’t at all fond of the possibility of another paw to the face, but he was sure going to find her and make things right, even if he got a few more more paws to his face. Kerke stopped, frowning. He hoped that wouldn’t happen though.
