There was a tikbalang standing outside the Reaper Dorms that day. He didn't venture to these dorms often, recalling only one instance and that had been during Prom season. He wasn't here to see the cowboil reaper, however. He had someone else in mind. A certain ghoul who had helped protect and save his dear friend Lattice.
One hand held a pot of blood stew, dinuguan, the other held a food container. He didn't know what Freya would like or how the ghoul looked but he figured he'd run into her or someone who might know her eventually. He just had to ask enough students, that's all.

Petro wouldn't have to look long. Freya, whose hair still looked puffier than normal from the night in the rain before, practically hopped out of the Reaper dorms and barely managed to keep from slamming into the large boil standing just outside the doors. She squeaked when she found the obstruction in front of her, and backed up a step so she wasn't threatening to fall into him.
She remembered the boil from Terror Warrior, as brief as their meeting had been. Still, she'd seen more of him than most people she knew. "Hello, friend!" She beamed up brightly at him, wiggling the fingers of both of her hands cheekily. "What brings yeh out here today?"

When a ghoul nearly crashed into him, Tro's first instinct was to balance the container of food atop the pot of stew so he could have a free hand to reach out. Just in case she would need something to use to regain her balance. But when he recognized her as the ghoul who had handed him his bahag at Terror Warrior, he realized her coordination rendered his intention to help moot.
Rather than letting it get him down, because why would that get him down, his lips pulled into a smile. "Ah! Greetings to y'," he nodded. "'M here looking for a reaper ghoul named Freya. Do y' know her?"

He was looking for her. Whaaaaaaat. Freya's head backed up slightly as a blush tinged her cheeks, but her smug smile never left her face. "I know her a little, ja. Who's asking? I got to makes sure I'm not sendings no creep to her room, yeh knows?"
Except, since when did creeps bring food? She could smell it from here, and her senses were tingling. She wanted in that pot.. and there was probably only one way to do it.
Fess up.
"Hah, I'm just playings with yeh, I'm Freya." Her eyes were on the pot as she spoke. "I saws yeh at Terror Warrior, remember? Don't thinks I got yehr name there, though." Stiiiill looking at the pot. "So what's yehr name, friend?"

"Ah! 'M Petro," he gestured to himself and was about to explain that he wasn't a creep because he preferred to ambush when he was hunting. Except the ghoul went ahead and revealed that she was Freya! The horse boil grinned and thrust his hand at her, offering it to shake. "Good to meet y'! 'M real grateful y' took care'v Lattice during the field trip." he explained, then quickly offered the stew and the food container to her. "Here! For y'! Didn't know if y' ate meat or just veggies so I made both."

Freya took his hand when it was offered, shaking it nice and firm until he mentioned Lattice, at which point her shake turned excited. "OF COURSE! I loves Lattice, yeh knows, would die for her a million times." She didn't know that loving Lattice meant she would be rewarded with presents, though.. bonus.
She eyed the stew with wild, hungry eyes, and both her hands reached up and curved around his arm, as she tried to get a peek into it.
"Ah.. I loves them both," She whispered reverently. "Yeh has no idea how hungry I am.. come inside, let's eat!"

The smile on the horse boil's face widened even more upon hearing Freya's enthusiasm in protecting Lattice. "'M glad! 'M glad!" he nodded, "Would do the same for her, too!" Learning she ate both meat and veggies made it much easier for Tro to warm up to her. "Haw, 's that so? Hope I made enough then! Don't right mind carrying 'em for y', if that's alright with y'." He'd come to learn that there were ghouls at the school that insisted they carry their own things.

Freya hopped up the stairs and held the door open for Petro, bowing with a flourish to gesture for him to enter. "But of course yeh cans, and yehr staying teh share somes. Yeh has teh tells me all abouts what's in it and how yeh makes it, and I wants to learn all about yehs if yehr Lattice's friend!"
She held the door open to let him inside, and once they were in, she took him to her dorm. The door was spectacularly obvious, as it was covered with stickers and there was something written in a foreign language off on a corner. Her door had been appropriately vandalized.
She opened it, and scooted inside. "In yeh goes, Petro!"

Petro, not one to refuse a request from a ghoul, especially when it involved discussions on food, obediently entered the Valkyrie's dorm and subsequently her room. "The writing on y'r door kinda reminds me of my Clan's, only we got more curvy ones," he observed before he set the pot and the container down on the first available surface.
"Stew's called dinuguan, 's blood stew and 's popular back home. Oughta have some rice cake to go with it but uh... y' don't want to be tasting my baking yet. Brought grilled bunnywunny, teddyweddy, and some veggie kabobs," he added, opening the container to reveal several strips of grilled meat and sticks of the vegetable kebobs. He hadn't known how big of an appetite Freya had and simply assumed she ate enough for three warriors. Obviously, Tro was going to have to replenish his stock. Maybe Freya would like to join him on his hunt?

"Ach, that sounds DELICIOUS! I am such a lucky ghouls teh has such a nice boil like you bringings me foods. What am I goings teh to deh makes it up teh yeh! I'll have teh thinks of something nice."
She cleared off her foxfire couch, getting rid of all the magazines and clothing that had been sitting on it by simply slapping it all away to the floor. "Sit, yehll just die! This is the most comfortable couch in the world, I tells yeh." She patted the cushions, and then moved over to a small pantry area, where she grabbed two plates, some silverware, and pulled out two glasses.
"What'll yeh has for drinks? I has blood lemonade, water, some cola.. that's about it!" She turned and giggled at the abrupt end to her list.

"Ah, naw, 'm here to thank y'!" Tro chuckled before insisting, "Y' ain't got no need to make it up to me." The tikbalang settled on the couch when she prompted, far be it for him to refuse a ghoul's invitation. He would have been fine sitting on the floor, but if she wanted him on the couch, then so be it. "Water's fine for me, y' don't gotta go through the trouble for the others," he called out, half ready to rise and walk over to help her.
"But if y' really think y' need to make it up to me, maybe y' can fill in some... blanks I didn't wanna hear from Lattice?"

Freya poured him a glass of water, shaking her head. "Nah, any boil who brings me foods gets my thanks. All the thanks!" She put the glass down on the table, and got a good look at the pot. "Is it ready teh eats now? Or does it needs heatings?" She may have gotten two bowls and forks when she went for the water, too. She was holding them carefully behind her back.
Blinking up at the question, Freya tilted her head at the boil. "Blanks? Sure, I tells yeh anything yeh wants teh knows. What's up?"

Petro nodded absently at the talk on food. "'S the kinda stew that y' oughta eat while hot. Also better if y' got some puto to go with it, uh, 's a type of rice cake. Don't got any 'cuz 'm not good with baking yet." He then fixed brown eyes at the valkyrie, grim-faced and steeled for whatever answer he might get when he asked, "Lattice said she woke up inna cage during the field trip. And there were lots of others too. What'd the Hunters do to her? And Lizzy?" His hands tightened into angry fists at the memory, even when the Engraver ghoul had assured him she was doing better, he couldn't help but worry and feel a knot of anger form in his stomach. And coupled with the reaction Needle got at the time, he was bracing himself for the worst.
