Personality :
Conservative: Dorian is a man who is anything but a rash hasty decision maker. He likes to fact check, keep an eye on things, and not be too outgoing. He likes his peace and his patterns. While he attempts to not be stubborn in his ways, he’s hesitant to take on new ideas or place faith in new ways of thinking. ‘Crotchety old man’ perhaps, but he’s not utterly adverse to change or new things. It just takes him time to adjust…and prove it’s worth it.

Orderly: His conservative nature makes him have a need for both a defined order and a way to have his little OCD moments and seem less then utterly crazy. He might not be actually OCD, but he likes things neat and in their place. There is a bit of a perfectionist in him, and from the way he manages his time to how he keeps his desk. Dorian likes order and control. The loss of his order and control threw him for an emotional loop, sending him into small fits and passive aggressively bitching until he ‘fixes’ it.

Mild mannered: Stubborn in his ways doesn’t mean he wants everyone to be the same. To him that would be not only boring but no advancements would be made. He prefers to be polite with people, even when they disagree. He can get snippy when his order is displace but he doesn’t get in your face, (provided it is not to the extreme). If someone were to confront him he would not react with any harsh words or actions. Dorian would simply let it slide. Or…

Passive: He would just agree. A bit of a pushover, Dorian likes seeing others happy, sometimes at the expense of his own opinions and thoughts. Very few things can change set things in his life, (like how he organizes his ties), but if pressured enough or harassed enough, and Dorian can break with what might even be very little effort at all. He is trying to gain more backbone but old habits die hard. The best he’s managed is refusing to play errand boy for his co-worker.

Bleeding Heart: A soft spot of others and a passive nature make Dorian the perfect target for those who want to take advantage of his goodwill. He’s an optimist and very rarely thinks badly of others, even if they have done very obvious… bad things. He forgives, and understands your plight, here let him give you some money. Beggers love this guy. A pity me sign and he’s pulling up all his loose change. Puppy dog eyes are very effective.

History and Purpose for a pet :
An American with a father from France and a mother from Southern California, he grew up in San Francisco his whole life. He did travel to France at a young age to visit his grandparents, and learned French while at a private school. His family was strict and rigid, and so he was often expected to strive to be the best and achieve the best. As he got older, he began to strive to become a software engineer. He learned Japanese in college with the goal of doing a summer internship abroad. That summer, (when he was 20), he fell in love with Japan, and decided he wanted to move there for his work. With the advancements they were making in technology he managed to find a job after he graduated at the age of 21. That year he met his future fiancée Charlotte. They hit it off smashingly, and for a year and a half they dated, until Dorian finally chose to propose on her 22nd birthday.

It didn’t last. After he proposed and she accepted they moved in together, and it was then that things quickly spiraled out of control. She started to get fed up with his habits, and generally, with him. He tried to make her happy, but nothing he did seemed to work. In reality she had met another man and fallen in love with him. While Dorian never found out, she told him he just wasn’t what she wanted. He was devastated, having bought a nice apartment for them, having planned the wedding, visiting his family with her, he just didn’t understand what was so unappealing about himself.

Depressed, he wanted to just have someone who could depend on him and accept him. He had his friends, but the woman he loved had left him. His friends told him to find someone else, to try and get over her, and one of those opinions voiced was for him to get a pet. He searched for a while, but no matter what, he never seemed to find one that suited him. He said he didn’t want to have a pet that would demand all his time and effort. Truthfully, unknown to himself, he wanted a companion who would accept him and in a way; One that would rely on him and not ask him to sacrifice who he was, or, to change who he was.
