Rolled a three: Grass field: The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustles the flat grassland arena that has replaced the default stage. Small clouds of harmless pollen fly through the air from the breeze. The land is completely flat, making maneuverability easy to those build to walk on land. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GRASS and BUG type attacks

Genesis entered the Stadium, the steps familiar to her weary tread. Much to her disdain, Leto, the Rattata she had recently caught, was intent -- very intent -- on battling and she, deciding to take responsibility for her capture, had to keep the purple Pokémon occupied lest Leto escape on her own and cause havoc... again. She decided to take advantage of the promotional battles that were going around now and entered an unclaimed platform for trainers, waiting for an opponent to appear on the other side. In the meanwhile, she let Leto loose early, slowly trying to train the Pokémon to come out at her command, instead of whenever she pleased.
Leto emerged in a beam of light to see a grass field she was beginning to associate with the Stadium spread out before her. Eyes bright, she ran excitedly towards the center of the field, waiting for her opponent-to-be.

Alycen walked into the stadium, trying her hardest to see everything around her and to not look like a newbie at the same time. This being the first battle for her and her newly acquired Joltik, Aminah, they were both keyed up beyond belief. She trembled with excitement and shoved her hands in her pockets to hide the shaking.
Aminah emerged and blinked as the stadium changed and grass appeared around her. She eyed her opponent, already in the center, and puffed up as large as she could as she approached the Rattata in front of her. Adrinaline and determination coursing through her, she readied herself for the start.

Genesis, in disguise could to prevent the numerous amount of people from discovering she was a Rocket Grunt, could, unfortunately, not act as indisposed as she usually was. She strived to make the persona of her various "characters" as distinct from hers as possible, to lower suspicion, and so, putting on a friendly smile, she offered a slight wave and yelled across the field, "Hey, there! Looking forward to battling ya! Good luck!"
Leto, seeing that her opponent was finally about her size, twitched her whiskers in greeting. Wagging her tail about cutely in a defense-lowering Tail Whip, she tilted her head at the other, wondering what she would do.

Alycen jumped slightly, hearing the other trainer's greeting and stopped looking at her surroundings, berating herself silently. Fine manners, indeed. She waved back and chuckled, embarrassed. "Hi! Good luck to you too.!"
Aminah deflated a fraction, confused by her opponents behavior. This was a battle, was it not? There was no time to be friendly. She shook herself visibly and took and aggressive stance as she Screeched at Leto.

"Thanks!" Genesis replied, ending her amiable wave soon after to lean on the balls of her feet, watching the battle. Usually, she let her Pokémon do their own thing, but right now, disguised as she was, its imply wouldn't do.
"Ready?" she inquired towards Leto, trying to imply towards her Pokémon that she would be taking over this round.
Leto flattened her ears at the screech, nearly hissing herself in response, but still kept up her Tail Whip. When Genesis spoke to her, she jumped in surprise, and made the mistake of turning her head away to see what Genesis was up to.

Alycen flashed a quick smile and let out a slow sigh, trying to calm herself. She shoved her hands further in her pockets and steeled her nerves as best as she could. Aminah was so looking forward to this battle and it wouldn't do to disappoint her. Raising her chin she looked down at the face off.
"Lets do this, Ami!" she called out, trying to build up Aminah, as well as herself.
Aminah smothered a twinge of confusion and frustration, further flustered by the continued tail waving. She gave a more insistent Screech, trying to urge her opponent into action. Showing her acknowledgement and preperation, she turned briefly toward Alycen and then turned back to Leto.

When Genesis saw Leto glance at her, she kept her gaze as long as she could, trying to communicate with body language. When she was sure Leto understood, she called, "All right, Leto. Use Rock Smash!"
Leto tumbled backwards by the force of the screech, her tail lashing about angrily all the while. However, it was too rough a gesture to lower anyone's defense and, upon hearing Genesis' command, she pressed her feet to the ground to still her stumbling and rushed towards the Joltik with a glowing paw.

Alycen flinched at the sudden attack and slipped into battle mode, her concentration overriding her nervousness. "Aminah, use Bug Bite!"
Aminah staggered from the force of the Rock Smash, her legs tangling briefly in her attempt to stay standing. She untangled herself and rushed fowrard, her fangs poised to bite hard.

Seeing Leto was ready to deal some physical damage now, Genesis said, "Rock Smash, again!"
Leto gladly complied. She charged at the Joltik, but it was quick, and got her square in the leg. Screeching in pain, she took advantage of the shortened distance between them to deal her blow.

Alycen jerked her hands free of her pockets and fisted them against her sides, tension coursing through her. "You're okay, Aminah. Now use Slash!"
Crumpling at the blow to her legs, Aminah hissed faintly. Ignoring the throb in her limbs, she sprung back to her feet and lashed out quickly with a talon.

"You've almost got it!" Genesis called, leaning forward now to better let her voice carry over. Unlike the other trainer, she felt neither sympathy nor victory each time Leto was hit or landed a blow. She had seen too many battles for it to affect her as much now, although she did attempt to hide it.
"Try another!"
Leto was gashed harshly with one of the Joltik's powerful claws, the attack drawing blood and a cry half indignant, half pained. Cleaning her face furiously to comfort herself a little, she shook and charged with another Rock Smash.

Closing her eyes briefly, Alycen sighed and cringed internally. Practicing moves with Ami hadn't prepared her for watching her Pokemon take such damage. Steeling her nerves and her voice, she called to Aminah, "Let's try Discharge!"
Aminah crumpled completely this time, from the relentless force of the smash. She shook her head, trying to clear it and wondered how much more of this she could stand. Thrilling from the battle, even as she winced, she staggered to her feet and releases bolts of lighting around her.
