Rider Name: K'lat (formerly Kirslat)
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Rank: Wingrider
History: K'lat was born in Eura Hold. He was part of the fosterling group at the Hold, learning a little from each set of adults. He never bothered to find out about his parents. K'lat grew up among friends, never really being a leader or follower. He just went with the flow when it came to non-duty activities. When it came to work, he would show up early, find out who he was working with and had a plan of who would be doing what.
From an early age, he figured that he would be either a Fisherman or Dolphineer. Those ideas flew out the window when he was Searched on the day he turned 12. When K'lat was told that a Rider wanted to see him, he was curious and slightly in awe. At the moment he was asked if he wanted to be at the next Hatching, he was overjoyed. It was his biggest dreams, but he never thought it would happen. It was one of the biggest honors Kirslat could have at that age. It took 9 turns before he Impressed to a large brown, named Flarneth. During the Hatching, K'lat was watching as the bronzes were out picking Theirs and he didn't notice the large brown hatchling heading straight at him. Flarneth made sure that he knew it, by putting his front legs on his shoulders, giving him scars that he is proud to have.
In the five turns they have been together, K'lat has become more perceptive on what is going on around him, thanks to the brown. The death of Benden's Weyrwoman was a shock. When his Weyrleader was killed, and a rider blamed, K'lat started pulling double duty.
It wasn't enough to stop the revolt that happened. The whers attacked and while they fought, it wasn'tDescription: K'lat is tall and slender, with grey eyes that almost pierce into one's mind. He keeps his auburn hair short, but you can see small swirls and know that if it grows out, it would be curly. He has scars on his shoulders from when Flarneth made sure he knew it was Him.
Personality: A leader when it comes to duty, K'lat has a knack for knowing peoples strengths and weaknesses. This helps with teaching some of the Jr. Weyrlings and Candidates on what is expected of them.
He is strict when it comes to discipline, but the punishment is one that will teach the younger ones why they need to listen. K'lat understands that once they start flying Thread, they will need to think on their feet, but it is better to be prepared as best they can on the ground before they fly.
When he isn't teaching, K'lat enjoys being in a group of his peers. During this time the Brown Rider is more relaxed. Most of those he is around either trained him or were trained with him. They all earned his respect, with a few that he sees as silly.
K'lat can also be found practicing maneuvers with or without a student so they understand better what is going on. There are times he returns to Eura Hold, to visit the people he grew up with, with a hint of showing off Flarneth too.
Other:DragonName: Flarneth
Age: 5
Colour: Brown
Description: Kinda like this
.jpg]wolf Large and Above Average size. He has striped wings, a dark brown almost black in color, his maw is almost black in color too.
Personality: He tries to prove that he deserves to be with K'lat, even though he did Impress to the man. He feels like he needs to prove it to everyone else at times. He is agile for a large brown, but not as agile compared to the other colors. When it comes to Flights, he always holds back some, knowing that a longer Flight is ideal especially with a Gold. During these times, he gets bolder with the bronzes, going so far as to snap at their wings or tails.
He tries to make the punishments less harsh when he can. When rider or dragon is not paying attention, Flarneth makes sure they start. He has compassion for the next generation of Riders, but they don't always see it. He doesn't mind when K'lat takes him out with a Candidate to show them what was talked about during the lessons. Sometimes he will talk to them, especially if he feels they are really paying attention or if they are nervous.
The brown does question those above him if he doesn't agree with the orders.
Other: Why Kirslat? Well, Flarneth is the type who will question orders while K'lat will just go with them. Flarneth is the type who enjoys to work, but also enjoys to play. He is there to help K'lat lighten up when it comes to work. He shouldn't take things so seriously. Plus they both feel they need to prove to others that they are the right pair.
