The rain from the previous night had subsided sometime in the morning, he didn't quite know nor care when. The ground while damp, leaves wet and slick, Benitoite was pretty sure it was ok for him to be out right now. He'd had food and was dry, he had been warm before he'd left where he'd been staying in order to avoid the rain and becoming sick.

Now that he was out he was intent upon looking for answers. He didn't know what had happened to him or why and he wanted to know, he needed this fixed. He was simply not meant to have four paws and a tail, although the tail was nice and fluffy.

Tiny paws took the Negaverse captain down the back alley he'd turned down, he was still convinced that looking like he did would get unwanted attention that was very much not needed. He didn't want to deal with children, or teens, picking him up and playing with him or people thinking he was some poor kitty who'd had his fur dyed and they'd fix it.

Stopping for a moment he plopped his bottom onto the ground, tail curling about himself, one front paw lifted and was examined for a moment before it was licked...one...twice...three times and then that same paw was brought up to his right ear and ran over the twitching appendage. Why did people have to be so damn loud? Didn't they realize animals heard much louder? Tossing his best glare over his shoulder, toward the people, the dark colored cat stood and continued on his way. He needed to find someone who might have a clue as to what had befallen him.

It took a cat to look for other cats. A person could only look for a cat in so many places, but there were places they wouldn't look too readily. Some places were just too small for a person to squeeze into, and other places weren't as safe for people as they were for cats.

Alleyways were one of those gray areas for some people. Some people knew they could be dangerous. Others were more bold and didn't seem to pay mind to the fact that an alley was a potential ambush zone. Only so many bad things could happen to a person, right? Cats, on the other hand, could easily trot along down an alleyway without worry.

As she trotted along on her way, ********* collar jingled in a cheery manner, livening up the alleyway just a bit. Of course, the sound echoed off the wall, so it was a bit louder than it should have been, but it wasn't too big a deal to the round feline. Her green eyes were darting about in an effort to locate any others who had been affected by that strange little accident from earlier.

Eventually she saw a dark colored cat grooming himself. However, she had to pause for a moment, tilting her head slightly as she began to stare at the other feline. She was looking at the tomcat's forehead, as if trying to make out something. It was hard to tell with how he was moving about if he had a star shape there or not...

That jingle sound had his attention, similar to the rat last night catching his attention, it seemed sounds were the big thing for him. That jingle jingle got his attention like nothing else as his ears shifted and pointed him right toward the sound. Blue eyes followed and indeed he had that star on his forehead, but it was dark in color like his fur was. Black socked paws moved lightly toward the odd, small, spotted cat.

He didn't even think to talk in a way another cat might understand, could he even do that? Rather his words came out in english. "My, my, what an interesting cat." Indeed, that odd purplish, lavender, hue to the fur. It certainly seemed as abnormal as his own coloring, not to mention the silver ivy marking he bore; like some my little pony gone feline.

As he looked the smaller cat over he spotted it, the same marking his own forehead bore. Were they the same? "Someone else cursed such as I?" Had others been cursed like himself? This wasn't the first time he'd wondered about this, and if so who? That was another thing to find out, along with just how this horrid thing had happened and if - how - it could be fixed. He'd already tried teleporting, and found it utterly impossible; he couldn't get somewhere safe and possibly find a solution to this problem.

The moment the other cat spoke, ********* knew what she was dealing with. With an airy giggle, she then replied "Why yes, I am quite an interesting cat, but you don't even know me!" Her own markings were quite tame compared to that of this other darker colored cat.

The manx almost seemed to smirk at this tomcat's choice of words to describe the situation. "Well... something is only a curse if you make it out to be that way. I personally do not find my condition to be a curse." Then again, she also wasn't quite in the same predicament as these other false cats were in.

The manx sat her haunches down, as if she was silently signaling she had no plans of leaving. She then spoke in a very conversational manner to the other feline in front of her. "I am going to guess you were minding your own business when all of a sudden you found yourself to be a feline instead of a boy? Am I in the ball park?"

There was a distinct pause before she also added another observation. "The star upon your forehead is pretty darn dark... I couldn't see it earlier actually because it blended in with your fur too much. That would make you similar to Dahlia."

"No, you are correct. I do not know you." That didn't make her any less interesting though, as her coloring to him was more odd than his own. Then again his marking was more odd than her spots. So perhaps they broke even on that front. "You can easily say that, as you were not human prior to this, and do not find yourself with a new found vulnerability which is not all that comforting to posses." There was little he liked about being a cat really, perhaps being lighter on his feet and being able to hide/sneak about were good things. But those still palled when compared to what he had lost.

"You are correct, I did a rather lovely impersonation of the wicked witch melting, only I didn't melt I just got shorter....so perhaps something more similar to Alice in Wonderland." This said with an odd wave of a kitty paw, the claws of which unsheathed themselves. He was still getting used to that. They were nice and sharp, so he had some small means of which to defend himself should the need arise. He just hoped it didn't.

"Dahlia." He paused as he thought of the cream colored cat. Was she aware of what happened? Maybe he could find her and wander the city with her? Though he suspected she might not be out in the rain, rather she would be nice and warm somewhere comfortable. Maybe he could track her somewhere and join her in whatever comforts she was surely enjoying? "Does she know about this, what happened?" He questioned, his tail suddenly lifting and giving a happy little sway as his thoughts turned to the pleasant idea of being in the company of another like himself...a cat and one who served chaos.

"I can teh-ell that your figurative glass is half empty." The manx winked at the tomcat as he seemed to continue to sulk about his current situation. "I could have sworn that human were very adaptive creatures... even in this form, you are still a human, are you not?"

When the other cat seemed to cling onto the mention of ********* old acquaintance, it only confirmed even further that this cat had chaos lingering upon his starseed. Thus why the star on his forehead didn't sparkle of a beautiful gold or a lovely silver color. "Weh-eh-ell..." she said in a still playful manner "I cannot tell what Dahlia does or does not know in all honesty. She is her, and I am me. And last I checked I didn't have the ability to read minds."

The manx had to chuckle slightly before vaguely going off subject. "Wouldn't that be kinda nifty to be able to read minds? It would make getting presents for friends much easier!" Though it wasn't like ********* could actually go shopping, unless stores all of a sudden accepted random garbage as payments for cats. With another chuckle or two, the manx then resumed her work.

"So, might I ask what your name is? Or should I call you something silly like 'Mr. Booties'?"

"And there are exceptions to every rule." He stated, doing his best to roll his blue eyes. Honestly it was not easy to adapt, he would say she should be turned human but he had seen that one in a human like form. Maybe this one should be turned human and have to do all the things a human did, school and such? At least he was on holiday vacation right now, that was good - very good. He didn't even want to think what trouble he'd be in if he missed any more school, he'd likely wind up like Harmony and thrown out. That would embarrass his mother so bad, he didn't even want to think of how she'd react if he were to be thrown out of school.

"Well, if she was there and whatever happened I would assume she has some knowledge in what transpired. Although seeing as I'm in your presence I'll ask you if you have any idea as to what happened to cause this."

Completely ignoring her off topic ramblings about mind reading, though it would indeed make gift shopping easier, he brushed his thoughts of that away and focused on the matter at...paw? Mr. Booties? Was this cat slightly off her rocker? He did wonder this for a moment before deciding he needed to give his name, in order to avoid the horrid nickname. "Benitoite. And your name would happen to be...?" He asked, his blue eyes looking the female cat over.

As a reminder, the manx repeated "Glass half empty," lifting up a paw and extending on claw so she could seemingly point at the other cat. It was like he was bending over backwards to be the negative Nelly. Wanting to be the exception to the rule of the adaptable person "rule" was pretty sad.

As the tomcat seemed to assume that Dahlia had been present for the machine's activation (which was true, but ********* had never hinted to it at all), ********* set her paw back down, relaxing her paw so no claws would be sticking out. "To be honest, I've known Dahlia longer than anybody in your organization... she's a long-time acquaintance." Only problem was that the cream colored cat had forgotten her the moment the Negaverse had seduced her with chaos.

"I don't have a specific idea as to what happened." ********* did have an idea, but she wasn't going to tell everyone she knew about it. Best to keep the secret for now to true Mauvians. "However... I am going around investigating what happened."

When the tomcat finally gave her a name to address him as, she had to ask "What rank are you, officer?" Obviously the small cat was familiar with how the Negaverse worked. Upon the mention of her own name, she laughed a bit then gave an answer similar to what she had with Dahlia a while back. "It depends who you ask... I go by many a name. Which name would you want me to give you?"

He wasn't trying to be negative but he saw things in a poor light. He couldn't fulfill his duties, he was defenseless if some senshi attacked him right now, he didn't know when this would end and he was missing and Lily and his parents would freak in all likelihood. Not to mention there was a holiday coming up and it had been raining and he'd already gotten wet and cold; he was fearing he'd catch a nasty cold, he couldn't risk missing more school. He wasn't he sort to sit back and enjoy things, at least not when it interfered with important things or put his safety at risk like this was doing. "Yes, yes, glass half empty. I'll call it being a realist." And being an exception to the rules of adaptability.

"Interesting...I don't see how that is possible but that is something to ask later or another time all together." Yes, if he could perhaps meet this ********* another time he would question her on that statement, he wouldn't out right seek to injury or kill a cat. It was against his morals, especially right now with having killed not too long ago and the images of sightless eyes still haunting his sleep on a regular basis.

"A Captain." She didn't seem to have any noticeable dislike for him, or his fellow agents of chaos, from what he could tell. She didn't seem to be an ill tempered cat in general though. But the point was she didn't call him trash, a thief, or anything else that was negative in nature. Yes, he would seek her out another time with questions and perhaps a simple conversation as well. He did still want to know why they brought small children into this war, why not wait till they were older? Let them live in peace longer. They didn't need to be brought into this scene so young. "Which ever name you prefer, as I'm sure one of the many you have you prefer above the rest. It is that one which I will call you by, it would be rude to me to call you by a name which displeases you. I do try, when not given reason, to be polite."

Her haunches were soon enough lifted up into the air so she was on all four paws again, and the little cat began to bounce about in place a bit. "See, that could be a problem, because I love all of the names given to me equally. Heck, I am certain you could give me a name that you felt was appropriate and I'd still be pretty happy to take it on." Wolframite, aka "Patches" gave her the name Cookie and she was perfectly fine with that.

With a wink tossed at the tomcat, ********* admitted "I wouldn't be a good stray if I wasn't adaptable like that."

"I do not know you enough to give you a name myself, so why not tell me any name by which I can call you. Perhaps you proper name." He spoke, it was the one he really wanted. "The one most people know you by, so that if I speak of you to another I needn't describe you; all I need do is give the name you've provided me." Did this little cat do this to everyone when asked her name? He got the distinct impression that was perhaps the case, or that if it wasn't he had good reason to think it was.

"Can you please tell if this is a permanent situation I find myself in, and anything else you can." He really didn't like that this little cat wouldn't outright give him the answers he wanted and needed. He really needed to know these things.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 26, 2011 6:07 pm

"Alas, a proper name doesn't really describe me too well... it is a bit of a tragedy... but I shall live." She laughed a bit, somewhat catching the vibe that he really seemed to want to talk about her with his comrades. That was perhaps the last thing she really needed was the Negaverse talking about her some more.

"I go by many names, Captain Benitoite... I go by Sweet heart, Cat, Miss Muffers, *********, Cuddles, and Tiny Little Lady. I think I'd be pretty narrow minded if I only went by one name only." It was obvious she was dodging the question, but she had answered him with the answer he sought buried in the list.

As he continued to seek answers to the situation, ********* paused and rolled her green eyes skywards to think for a moment. "Hmmm... that is a good question, isn't it? We certainly don't need a flood of false guardians about the city..." Most certainly people would be able to pick up on strangely colored felines that had bits of blue to them, in comparison to her own grayish fur. "I'd like to think it isn't permanent, but I think it would require some research before I could give a solid answer. I'm currently just trying to get a grip on what happened, gathering evidence... that sort of thing."

Ahh, but not in any bad way. Perhaps to just find out who she was further and to so he needn't describe her every time he mentioned meeting a cat on the other side. It was easier to have proper names as opposed to descriptions, he preferred to be proper when and where he could. He couldn't ask senshi for names always, most didn't tend to give time for that not that he did either in most cases. "Do proper names ever do? I find they rarely do, seeing as it is another who gives them to us and even before we have a personality. But they are still our proper names, and thus they hold some meaning." A simple shrug, or at least the best he could give considering he was a cat right now.

"Benitoite is easier, you needn't use my rank. And sweet heart would be only given if I knew you better, cuddles...I don''t know about that." He wasn't sure she could be cuddled, she struck him as a constantly moving bundle of energy. That didn't seem very cuddly to him. "Miss Muffers? That one he didn't get, but ok. "And Little Lady....you are female but not human, though you are tiny. Perhaps in time I will come up with a name for you of my own. For now the only one that doesn't imply some intimacy, while not sounding completely isolated from you, would be that ********* name. I do plan to speak with you, another night, when I'm back in my proper form. I have questions, and perhaps just wish to talk with another member of this war who seems to not be of the mind that all Negaverse agents are evil, thieves, or murderers. If this isn't something you'd be against of course."

Nodding his head he gave a sway of his tail and something of a smile. So she was looking in to things, and he wasn't the only one like this. "If there is anything I can aid you with do let me know? I'd like to reverse this as soon as possible. I do have school, family, friends, and other things which I cannot avoid as people will worry." His duties also but with Thanksgiving only days away he really could see his parents and Lily worrying themselves sick, and calling cops and everything else. How she would meet or find him, if she needed his help, he didn't know but if she took up his offer they could figure something out surely. But if she needed help he would aid her, despite her being with the white moon, this went beyond that since it had him as a cat and he couldn't stay like this. This situation, right now, for him transcended the boundaries that were normally in place.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 27, 2011 8:15 pm

********* was not put off by the logic placed into a verbal reasoning as to why her name was ********* instead of the others. In fact, she simply repeated "I already told you, I go by many names. Each name is as much my name as the other... so I really don't see why you fuss over a proper name versus not."

There was a pause before she also gave her view point on the use of his proper rank with his name. "I will continue to call you Captain Benitoite. I cannot afford to be overly informal with someone from the Negaverse." She might have been able to put on a good face and be polite with the opposing side of this war, but she could not afford to get chummy. It was possible to be a nice cat even if she did not agree with the opposing side of the war.

As he proposed meeting again in his other form, the small cat quite plainly gave him the rundown. "I can't make any promises... I am kept plenty busy with my regular duties." With a faint shrug, she then shook herself off slightly like a dog. "Either way... I should probably be heading out... as I said... more research!" With a sort of enthusiasm that seemed only suited for the young, the manx then began to scurry off on her way.

"It's how I was raised. Proper titles and names, consider it me being proper and polite." He said giving the best smile he could. He'd learned even as a child that everyone had a name and title they went by, and to use them. He may be looser with family and friends but with other people he wasn't, it simply wasn't right and honestly he didn't mind it. It was one thing about his lessons on manners which he didn't mind.

"You cannot afford that and you wonder why I seek a proper name for you." How...odd. But he didn't say anything further on it, simply pointed it out. "Tell me though, why can you not afford to be informal with someone from the Negaverse? Is it because we serve chaos? Or what is the reason, I'm rather curious." And it seemed he wouldn't get any answers, considering a few sentences later the cat was running off. At least he knew something was being worked on with this...problem. He too was busy with his own duties but he hoped they could have a meeting at some point in the future. Maybe he'd have to find some senshi to help arrange that meeting....
