******** did her really want to do this? Yeah, he kind of did. Poor Cass had come to this training course and had failed not just once, not just twice, hell not even three times. She just failed a ******** lot. And as an extra bonus her face had been drawn on with a marker of some sort. He felts a bit sad for her really, marker on skin sucked and- it didn’t really wash very well. Kind of killed the mood to go in for a kiss only to see stupid scribbles all over her face. It was fading from her skin though, and that was good. No ink stains at least.

In a bid to make Cass feel better, (or worse really, he wasn’t sure), Marcus had gone to the life hunter course to see if he couldn’t beat it and maybe show Cass it wasn’t impossible. Or just impress her. His ego liked doing that. While he knew he was risking his own face with marker magic should he fail- he was ready to take that risk. It was just marker and he could just ask for an off campus mission or something. Hide in the golems on death sweep- yeah no. He’d probably just hide in his dorm room and hope there was as little interaction with the other trainees as possible.

As he entered the chamber he frowned at the fish. Really? Piranha only really attack when there is thrashing in the water and blood. Or was that sharks? ******** he didn’t know. Maybe he could find out from some discovery channel bull- or right no discovery channel. ******** he missed cable television.
Making his way to the table, Marcus hoped the lazer.. couldn’t blind because oh ******** that would suck. As he sat down, a boom from above. What the ********. ReallY? That too? Life hunters were crazy ********, that was for sure. In the seat, Marcus looked at the challenge before him. Jenga. Mother ******** board games. Life hunters… you poor souls. Taking a deep breath Marcus figured if he didn’t fail quickly, that was a win in his book. Tenativly reaching over, he pulled out his first block, watching the tower give a little shake as the block came loose. Alright.

One out however many the ******** more to go

One down… a ******** ton to go. Again, the moon trainee took a deep breath and went for a block. It slid free and marcus gave a sigh of relief as the tower didn’t give a little shake this time. He did however, jump almost right before he got ready to pull out the third block, the booming echo above jostling him. Thank god it had been before and not after. If it had happened just a few seconds later. Game over, faster than Cass even.

The third block was pulled out no problem, as were the fourth and fifth blocks. That was one complete set, survived. With the booming above, the fish, the lazers- he was starting to get how life hunters might find this a very good challenge for them. They had to put up with a lot of bullshit in order to get their job, however simple or difficult done. Then again, Maybe Marcus was reading far to much into it. It just might have been as simple as Dr. H ******** with his trainees.

Onto the next five blocks, the next five attempts to not get himself knocked out and drawn on. Timidly, he reached around to pull a block from the other side free but almost instantly regret it. The tower swayed as he got it free, and Marcus practically froze. Eyes just zeroed in on the tower of wooden blocks, praying he’d not made a mistake. As soon as the tower stopped it’s nerve wrecking swaying, another boom from above and the tower started up again, if just slightly. In his mind Marcus was screaming in hopes for it not to crash and come crumbling down. As it finally settled, Marcus was done with this timid bullshit. He needed to move fast if he didn’t want to get himself started by the thunderous sounds above. Four more blocks were pulled in quick succession, and as soon as that final block was pulled, a boom. He’d just made it and missed the shock factor as he got that block. Lucky him.

Luck wasn’t something Marcus thought of often, but he wanted it. Badly. Ten blocks removed so far and now he was definitely feeling the heat. Each block would need time, and with the random echoes from above- he didn’t exactly have a lot of it. One block. Done. Second block. All in the clear. Third block. Fine. Fourth? A boom, a crash, a dart. His final thoughts before he fell asleep? <********.’
