Souppi had followed his map right into the heart of Feirion. This was the Epheria Lakefront. He thought it was even more beautiful than how everyone had described it to him. The sun was harsh and golden and the way it reflected off of the blue lake made it look like there were two suns - one above and below.
Still, as beautiful as this place was, it wasn't to his liking. Every time the wind blew, the cold sent shivers down his spine and since he hated getting wet, he didn't think a lake was much fun at all.
Right now, he was eyeing his reflection in the lake. He was afraid he might be blown in, but he really wanted to know how he looked now. He thought he had to have been gone from home for at least one day. Did he look any older? "I think I look the same."

Cherish was happily batting her favorite ball around on the grass by the lake shore. She paused, however, when she spotted someone staring into the water. She bounced over, trotting up behind him. "Hi!" she piped. "What'cha doin'?"

Without looking at the other gladier, Souppi said, "Hello, little miss. I was just seeing what I looked like." Then, he turned to face her. He was glad to see she was a Cetus around his age. It made him feel more comfortable than talking to an adult. "That's normal, isn't it?"
Then, his attention was drawn away by her ball. It reminded him of a toy he used to play with back home. "What is that? It looks neat!"

Cherish giggled. "I'm not little! I'm the same size as you!" She peered at their reflections in the water. "I dunno. I usually just play in the water."
The gladier beamed when her toy was brought to attention. "That's my ball!" She pounced at it, but missed. Instead, she just rolled onto her side and lightly batted it with her paw. "It's really fun to play with 'cause you can play with other people too."

Souppi thought she had a point, but he didn't want to refer to her as a miss, because he thought it made her sound too old. "You're right. I'll call you by name then." Awkward silence followed when he realized that he didn't yet know her name. "What is you name, anyway? You can just call me Souppi."
He laughed when he heard her talk about playing in the water. "That's the opposite of me! I can't stand getting wet."
"That's awesomel!" He tried his hardest not to giggle when he saw her pounce at nothing, but it looked so funny that he had to at least smile. "Can I play with you?"

"Tee-hee! I'm Cherish!" Cherish beamed at him. "Nice to meet you, Souppi!"
She didn't get why he didn't like getting wet. Being out of the water wasn't that fun when wet because it made you cold, but she still loved playing in the water.
Her face lit up when he asked about playing with her. "Of course!" She batted the ball towards him, her tail wagging happily behind her. She loved playing with friends. It was so much more fun than being by herself.

Souppi laughed happily and said, "It's nice to meet you too, Cherish." Then, he caught the ball and tapped it back to her. "Here I go..." This close, he could see that the ball was all red with black markings, not red, white, and black like the one he was familiar with. He thought it looked just like Cherish, actually. "It matches you. Cute!"

"Mm-hmm!" Cherish stuck out her paw and stopped the ball before smiling brightly at him. "It was a present. But I can't remember who gave it to me..." She looked almost thoughtful for a moment before tapping the ball back to Souppi.

(OOC: *snipes* J/K. Late is definitely better than never.)
Souppi smiled back and said, "You have good aim." Then, he headbutt the ball to her.
"That's nice. I heard with presents that it's the feeling that counts, so I guess it's fine if you don't remember, so long as the feeling is still there." Then, he wondered, Does that even make sense? He thought he would be sad if he could not remember something like that, but he also thought that if whoever gave him a gift saw him playing with it happily that she would be happy and that would make him feel better.
