It was cold tonight..colder then Albireo cared to really care about. Though, she was smart and had grabbed a scarf before she left her house and was wearing it comfortably around her neck. Not that it was doing much good, the comfort of having the scarf there seemed to be enough.
She was avoiding rooftops tonight…the thought of jumping in the cold did nothing to make her feel all…well, warm and fuzzy inside, so the Super Senshi walked along the streets, rubbing her hands together, wishing she could find a nice jacket to bundle up in…or a campfire to sit at.
What she wouldn’t give to be a roasted marshmallow right about then.

Eric was out for a late night stroll, his guitar strung over his shoulder. He was half giving his roommate space, half "patrolling" for senshi. He was full freezing though, he only had a light jacket to keep the cold out. He rubbed his arms and blew into his hands, trying to keep warm.
He cast a forlorn look at a passing bus. It would be so warm inside there... but the likelyhood of actually seeing a senshi from a bus window (and if he did, getting any useful information) made it irresponsible. Still tempting though.
He glanced at his watch for the second time in thirty seconds. In twenty three more minutes he would go home and see if there was a tie on the door. If so... Another night on the bus. Eric yawned at the thought of it. He needed his own place... or a job to afford a hotel room. Or a band so he could make it big. Or to just make it big in general. Or to win the lottery. Or to find a lottery ticket (since he didn’t play the lottery.)
SOMETHING that could get him out of the cold. Not tonight though. Tonight he was just gonna have to freeze.

The senshi gave a little sigh, moving to rub her arms now, blinking as she saw a flash of red.
It was Eric. Well…shouldn’t he be off the streets and safe and warm somewhere or something. “Hey, Eric. What are you doing out here? I told you it’s dangerous to be out in the city at night…”
Albireo began walking to him, then felt the strangest sensation…a rush of power…then suddenly, she felt herself moving closer to the ground.
What was going on here? When the small wave of…was it dizziness? What had happened?
Well, whenever what happened passed she shook her head, feeling what she thought was her hair loops hitting the side of her head, then looked up…wait…up?
She looked down at her hand—paw.
What on earth was going on? She had paws. “I’m…I’m a cat?”

Eric looked over, looking for the source of the sound, and seeing alberio:
"Oh hi there I..."
He watched as she changed into a cat. He was somewhat surprised, though not in any way shocked. He had seen people in the surrounding who could turn into cats, though it was a little strange that she was doing it now of all times.
It wasn’t until Alberio said 'I'm a cat' with all the confusion of someone who didnt intend to be a cat that Eric got concerned.
"Aye, that you are lass.... are you not supposed to be a cat?"

Albireo looked up at Eric and gave the most pathetic mewl. Why was she a cat now? What was going on? This wasn’t normal…how could he think it was normal. “Do you often see people change into cats, Eric? How can you just talk like it’s the most normal thing you’ve seen in your life? I have paws!”
She walked over to him, then began walking around his legs, rubbing against them, letting out a little purr.
Wait. What? She couldn’t help herself and her green eyes closed as she continued rubbing his legs.
Man she could go for a nice can of tuna right about now too…then life would just be perfect.

"But... wait. I saw..."
The sentences didn't form. How could SHE get onto HIM for not thinking things looked weird?! She jumped from building to building and lived in space for crying out loud!
He didn't say anything, as he soon saw she was otherwise occupied.
"You seem to be enjoying it well enough. Would you like me to get you a ball of string or saucer of milk?"
He was half taunting, half earnest. She had sounded upset and confused, and since he genuinely liked the senshi he wanted to help her get more comfortable if he could.
Not that she didn't look comfortable. And she must have at least been warm, in all the fur.

Albireo swallowed. A ball of string? Some milk? Her instincts made her start purring, eager to take up this stupid…though kind…civillian’s offer. She nodded. “I…I would like…” Suddenly she shook her head. What was she thinking? Did she really just want to? Live as a cat? Playing with yarn, drinking milk from a saucer? No. No, she was a person, and she had to get back to being a person.
The girl turned cat drew away from Eric and shook her head. “No, no thank you. I have to get home, I have to get help…” She had to figure out why and how she was a cat and how to get back to being a person. With a sad little mewl, the cat darted away into the night.
Maybe if she slept, maybe that would fix this. Maybe that would set her right and make her a person again. Albireo nodded to herself, then found a nice little spot, sheltered under a nice bush, and settled down for bed. A cold, pokey bed, but…it would do for the evening.
