Mary had been spending more time at her grandmother's. It was easier to come and go for patrols, it was closer to school, and it had the benefit of not having her mother hound her all the time. Her grandmother loved it, having been used to never seeing the child usually.

Mary would slip out into the gardens, go to her bridge and power up, and then go from there. She'd return to the same bridge and power down and go back into the house before her grandmother woke up and none was the wiser. Today however, was different. Whether it was because Arga wasn't talking to her, or she was getting home too late or what, she wasn't sure. Bifrost dragged herself back to her bridge and made to power down.

When something incredibly shocking surged through her. She let out a scream that turned into a yowl and the world spun.

After a moment she shook out her head, blinking. The ground wasn't that close to her face usually, and there was a problem she couldn't seem to get farther from the ground. Something flicking on her head and she jumped, tumbling into the railing. She stuck her head through the bars, another thing that should have been impossible and looked down.

What stared back at her was not her face. Or it was. Except it was a cat's face. A... cat...? With a star on its head? She blinked a few time and moved a paw. It was indeed herself. Bifrost moved out of the railing and looked at herself. Short tail, purple paws, and a rather normal looking coat.

Huh.

Now this was neat.

"Mary?! Mary did you fall asleep out here!? Mary!" It was her grandmother.

The cat jumped again, yowling. She didn't noticed that her grandmother had come around the corner and was staring oddly at the cat jumping on her bridge. "Grandmother! Grandmother!" She spun, firmly planting her paws on the ground. She tilted her head at the shocked expression on the old woman's face.

She couldn't... understand her, could she?

Bifrost crept over and rubbed her head against her grandmother's leg. It felt like the right thing to do.

"Meow?" she asked instead of speaking in whatever she'd spoken before. She saw her grandmother calm down a little, or at least start to move.

"Oh thank goodness! I thought I was seeing things. Though you are an odd color for a kitty, aren't you missy? Hmmm Mary would like you I think. I'll get you some cream if you come with me."

Did she just say... cream? The cat's eyes widened and she nodded a few times. Tracey raised a brow but simply petted Bifrost on the head and walked off.

Mmm cream... Bifrost hoped it was warmed too... mmm and maybe a few high places to sleep on... mmm yes...
