It was a simple request to see if he could get some help with fighting. The Haunted house had left him with a startling self discovery. That he, survivor of multiple school outings, SUCKED at fighting. He needed help to train and get better. Who knew when the next school trip might come around and try to kill him? (He guessed it would be pretty soon, hopefully no hunters or dead teachers would be there though. That would just make him more depressed than he already had been recently). It his efforts to get help, he’d come across and dog boil who’d agreed to practice with him. Truthfully, Israfel didn’t know him, but anyone would do. It was just for practice, and the other student had been nice enough to agree.
Earwings flicking around, his wings were going to be limited. No point in aerial combat if your other opponent..could…fly. Smiling nervously, the siren hoped that neither of them would get too hurt, (but he figured they probably would). “Thank you for agreeing to fight me Demi. Uh… Are you ready?”

After two different trips and a scuffle with Westus, Damien came to a cruel realization. He also SUCKED AT FIGHTING. Time and time again it was always him getting his rear end handed to him, and boy was it ever sore when that happened. However the Gym wasn't exactly the same now that its main caretaker wasn't here. It was almost sad in the walled area.
Even today when he decided to sit in and watch some of the more experienced students fight and takes notes over it, the air still felt gloomy and he didn't have the heart to look so excited. Not far away though, was another who came in and didn't look like he had a matchup and the hound was more stunned when said person came up to him, asking for help and a match. "If you want to practice, then sure why not?" he agreed with a shrug and didn't think anything of it, a simple request. "Besides, I could use the practice myself." he admitted to the winged Boil.
Earwings....... Well it could have been worse and be glittery buttwings. The hell hound began to stretch his legs and check the binding on his boots. The little hound tongue was sticking out in concentration "Ready when you are Israfel!"

As it turned out, Damien might have gotten the jump on Israfel. Literally, as he leapt on the boil and tried to bat at his earwings and ended up flopping to the floor. Looks like he wasn't that ready too. And open for a counterattack as he jumped back and waited to see what the winged boil would try. "Ahh... what a failure that strike was!"

As Damien jumped him, Israfel gave a chirp of surprise. They were starting already? But... didn't do some kind of proper duel greeting like in stories or-or. He needed to get his feath head in the game. Wings fanned out as Israfel jumped up in an attempt to come down and claw the boil.

Damien watched agape as Israfel did one the things he could never do in battle. Attack from the air. The boil came bearing down on the hound, scratching at his hair, his precious hair. "h-hey! that not a place where you can roost!" he barked out, flailing his arms at the birdlike student

An arm got him in the head, sending him flopping to the ground. Ow. Huffing, Israfel's claws extended as he lashed out again. "I don't roost in hair!" he said, before tripping over.

Israfel should have warned Damien about the claws. that he had them, and liked to swoop down like a bird of prey and try to roost in their hair. He really didn't like the idea of having Isra babies cheep cheep cheeping right above him. "hey hey hey no need to squawk Isra." Damien barked out as he skirted to the side and found the floor. with body parts other than his feet, like face.
Yes face meeting the ground was not fun, but the sound of the thump when it happened might have been. "Y'see, this is why hounds, chase cats, who chase birds. WE NEED THE MIDDLEBOIL!"

And show he did, to Damien's back. " Come on, at least let me get levi in here so we can chase each other in a comical fashion!" the pup snarled back as he went to give Isra a kick to the shin. "Hah, eat scareling tactics!"

It was one thing to have a sparring match, but another to cry out in pain like Israfel did. As much fun as it was to pretend to puck out the siren's feathers, the last leap toward him only left the hound at the mercy to gravity and once again face met floor.

"You lie, you lllliiiiieeeeee!" Damien howled out in fury, and maybe a little bit of glee over the fight. the last one with West was over in a flash. a flash and a painful chest. he couldn't help but feel like Isra was just playing with him, like prey.
"I'll show you sorry!" he barked out incessantly and lept back in the air and began chewing on the boil's left foot. "sorry your foot is so delicious!"

Damien had enjoyed taking his teeth the the birdboil, it was rare to gnaw on something that was alive. until the other foot met his face in a series of taps. "Hey ow.. ow i said ow!" he hollered out as the grip on Isra began to slip and dropped like a stone, but at least getting in a swipe on his leg before face met floor again.
"We gotta stop meeting like this floor." he grumbled out after picking himself up and glaring at the student. "Get down here you!"
