His owner ruffled the fur on his head and hugged him tight, words whispered warm and encouraging in his pricked ear before the young lad was called back out of the ring. Turning, no need for a collar as he waited patiently at his end of the arena. Bright blue eyes studied his opponent as he flexed his paws, claws sinking into the ground as he shifted, muscles tightening as he readied himself. No longer a complete novice, he was slowly gaining some confidence in the ring, but knew he had a lot still to learn before he could start relaxing over his training, if ever. Glancing back at his owner he met the young man's gaze then turned to face forwards again. The signal for the fight to start rang out and without a single bar, yip or growl, he launched himself across the ring, dark body a sleek line as he raced towards the other male before suddenly changing direction and lashing out with one front paw towards the other's pelt.

Another day, another fight. At least that's how it felt for everyone around Brigadier, including his nonchalant owner. For the fighter who had been sanctioned to his stall for a brief medical leave after the past two fights it was a high he couldn't get enough of. Lightning zagged sharply through his veins at the familiar sights and enticing sounds and smells. Brig was lucky that Jack couldn't afford to keep him out of the ring for too long, though he was still pissed off at his owner for keeping him from the ring for so long. The evidence of his scorn lay beneath the white bandages on the human's forearm. Even now, as they made their way to the event the fighter snarled and growled as he threw every ounce of muscle into the leash. Dragging his trainer.
They couldn't get there fast enough.
It was only when the muzzle and leash were off that the solidly built, cobalt Mokai could breathe freely. And he was glad when his opponent came at him quickly, long before Jack could completely exit from the ring. Good. This one wasn't about to waste any time with head games. Neither was Brigadier.
With the fur ridging along his backside he charged towards the brown form that zipped towards him, breaking stride into a sudden halt when the other changed directions swiftly. He had lost sight of his opponent, but only momentarily lost track of him. Snapping his head around to the side of his body where a solid hit just behind the shoulder sent him skidding sideways. Not before his arcing head snapped at the spotted one's bushy tail, determined to hold on to his prey as Brig slammed side-long into the wall of the ring.

Fighting Stats Attack: 8% x 8 = 64 Defense: 1% x 4 = 4 Speed: 8% Agility: 1% Intelligence: 1% He felt fur and flesh part under his claws as his strike hit home, the satisfying jolt through his body as his own momentum sent the other mokai skidding across the dirt. Suddenly a sharp stab of pain snagged at his tail, shooting down his spine as sharp fangs sank into the thick fur of the limb now trapped by powerful jaws. There was no time for thought or strategy as his own head snapped round, brown, supple body following quick as a snake as he struck out at the source of the pain. His fangs glistened pale and brutal, aimed for the other male's own muzzle as muscular legs splayed for support, his forelimb lashing out to rake the blue mokai's shoulder and flank.

A shock wave rippled through Brigadier's body as his hip and shoulder collided with the unyielding wall, but if hindered the savage beast any he made no sign of it. Rather pleased to have had the forethought to drag the unfamiliar fighter along for the ride, Brig was even more delighted to find that he didn't have to travel far to continue the fight. Snarling as he released the tail writhing in his jaws in order to find a better purchase upon the earthy brown body.
Buffeted against the wall by the paw that continually swiped at his exposed side digging his paws into the dirt beneath them at least kept him stable, though not able to lift them to swat against the onslaught. He wasn't the sort of fighter who looked to his trainer for guidance, but if he had been Brigadier would have seen Jack wringing his hat in his hands frustratedly.
"GET OFF THE WALL!" He shouted, more tense than angry. Every lost match made his wallet lighter. He couldn't afford much more of this losing streak Brigadier was on.
Rounded ears flicked attentively, but not to the found of his owner's voice. When he was fighting the only noise that penetrated the thick veil of concentration was the roar of the crowd and the sound of his opponent's pain. Gathering his muscles to spring Brig used the force behind his bulky muscle to shoulder into his assailant and thrust him backwards.
And was that a grin that crossed his muzzle at the brazen baring of fangs that was thrust at him? He'd take that challenge head on. Jowls wrinkling into a dangerous smile as he lunged into the bite willingly.

Fighting Stats Attack: 8% x 8 = 64 Defense: 1% x 4 = 4 Speed: 8% x 3 = 24 Agility: 1% Intelligence: 1% Ears pinned back against his skull, the lean fighter snarled deep in his chest, the first sound he had made since the tart of the fight. Muscular body shoved forwards, forcing the cobalt male back into the wall once again as fangs lunged, glistening white and dangerous, towards the thin skin of the other's muzzle. Suddenly his whole body jerked as the stranger found some kind of purchase and the pair of them scrambled back towards the middle of the ring, Colon clawing at the ground for purchase against the sudden change of direction. He never caught the almost-smirk, his own lips drawn back form bared dagger-like fangs as he lunged forwards, expression ferocious as he drove for the other male, intending to clamp his own jaws about the dark male's snout.Yet suddenly the ground rolled under him as he slipped in the sweat-and-dust mess that had formed under them. His aim went wild, fangs clashing shut with a savage snap as he pitched forwards, slamming into the cobalt male's legs as his entire body went tumbling, downing the pair of them in a mass of thrashing fur and claws. Lashing out with both hind legs as he heaved himself up he shot across the ring, unwilling to risk staying so close to the other fighter while off balance and stunned. Yet the second he reached the far side he turned and leaped forwards, fangs once more bared and aimed at the other mokai.

Knocked off balance and teetering towards the center of the ring, Brigadier was quick to follow his scrambling prey, tail lashing fervently. As they reached the open ground though the other had already managed to stabilize himself and was prepared to duel head on again with their canines glinting like knives under the stadium lighting.
It was a moment of truth as the crowd fell into a deathly silence in anticipation watching the pair lunge at each other. Waiting with bated breath to see who would come out the victor in the literal head on collision. Yet their answer never came and a groan of dismay seemed to echo across the hall when the leopard spotted Mokai was caught off guard by the a slick on the ground that stole his footing.
Together they crashed to the ground. Brigadier--startled by the unexpected collision--snapping and snarling the whole time as he scrambled to his feet. Not as quickly as his dazed opponent however as the other stepped on him in his effort to escape and get across the arena. Was he scared?
Brig didn't know fear. Rolling to his paws to follow the fleeing fighter with only a brief shake to dislodge the top layer of dirt that smeared his steel blue figure. This one had been so straight forward and now he was running like a coward. What the hell had happened? Growling his disgust as he gave chase even when those dark eyes turned back to face him again what enjoyment he'd felt was gone and the cold, singular note of ruthless battle was all that remained.
It was a shame Brigadier wasn't the sort for dodging or avoiding injury. Instead he crashed right into those awaiting fangs with the impact of a full run, his own mouth clamping onto the side of a short, thickly furred neck with a desire to taste blood.

Powerful legs bounded across the arena, his speed only gathering pace as he barreled head-long into the darker male, maw wide and fangs on display with lips curled back away from them, snout wrinkled in a fearsome manner. The flash of pain as razor teeth sank into the thick protective fur of his neck was barely felt, adrenaline shoving the pain away even as it fueled Colton's own attack. Fangs raked the side of the stranger's face, body twisting and shoving at the other mokai's solid frame as the leopard-spotted male reared upwards, forelegs wrapping round the other's chest, claws digging into dark fur.

Throwing his head back and forth, Brigadier tore at the fur and flesh in his grip, crashing the side of his muzzle against the open jaws that awaited him. Scraping his face repeatedly on the jagged edge of the other fighter's teeth. It was a bloody, brutal beating, but it was the only way to fight in his opinion. The only way to live, if he was being perfectly honest.
As they leaned on their hind legs and his opponent held on to him with his claws, sinking into his fur and hooking along skin that tore under the tugging weight, his own wide paws boxed at the brown body. Hard, shoving thrusts pummeling at the exposed chest and throat in their close quarters combat. Scything canines had released the hold on the loose ruff only to use his teeth against the mouth that had left bloody stains upon his black muzzle. Their teeth meeting the way the swords of two gladiators might have, though when they slid off one another the sound was more like striking marble or bone than metal.

Ears pinned back Colton lunged for the other male's face, teeth flashing as he twisted his head sideways in a snake-like movement. Hind legs scrambled, shoving with all his strength against the other, muscles straining, starting to hurt now though it was ignored as the fight demanded all his attention. Suddenly he tucked his head low, into the thick ruff of the other male's chest where he would be safe from the savage fangs that sought him and with a grunt of effort, put his entire strength and rather substantial body weight into shoving the other male back and off his paws.

The wounds left behind by this rough and rowdy fighter ached something fierce, but it wasn't a sensation that meant weakness to Brigadier. To be able to feel any pain at all meant he was still alive and able to attack and he would keep attacking as long as there was life left in him. Unfortunately his swinging jaws met air as his combatant cleverly tucked his head into the savage beast's collar, out of his reach.
With his head so close, Brigadier was already left awkwardly unable to press forward and it was that last forward thrust of motion that sent his hind paws sliding out from beneath him. Belly exposed briefly as the wild fighter thrashed his legs to knock the other off balance if he could, though it seemed that the victor of this match had already been decided. Thunderous shouts of approval fell from the stands, crashing into the ring in an almost deafening way.
And Jack. Jack was already readying his gloves for the unpleasant task of removing the reluctant fighter from the ring. Brigadier did not lose graciously. Though he was forced to look at these bouts in terms of winning and losing he didn't seem to recognize that the fight was over if he or his opponent wasn't laying dead in the pit.

Colton's weight drove him down on top of the other male as they fell, chocolate body arching as he tried to escape the ripping claws of the other's hind legs and only partially succeeding. What was it with everyone always aimed for his under parts? Throwing himself back and away from those vicious claws he snarled deep in his chest, watching as the other mokai struggled to his feet, both of them streaked with blood and saliva.
Backing away as he saw the humans approach, he kept his gaze fixed on the dark male, body tense in case of attack. The bell for the end of the fight rang out loud and clear, but Colton waited, only turning away to his side of the ring and Dom's waiting arms once his opponent was leashed again.

This one was pretty smart not to turn his back on Brigadier. The sound of the bell fell on deaf ears and the referee that had begun to stroll into the ring to announce the winner was bluntly ignored. He'd be in danger if he got between them. Claws sinking into the soft dirt under his paws as his lean frame coiled to spring at the opponent that was staring at him brazenly.
Sides heaving with every panting breath made Brigadier's broad frame double in size with each inhale, thighs twitching with tension . However, just as he was set to spring a metal click made the shadow of his ears flick backwards. Rearing his head back to snap at Jack's face in a violent protest. Don't interfere old man!
Jack was ready though with leather clad hands, catching boxy jaws and holding them shut until he could fix the muzzle in place. "Nice try, jackass..."
The heavy-set trainer mused dryly at the fight that still remained in his tattered Mokai though he was perplexed. Brigadier seemed to have the same spirit as always, so why the hell had he suddenly become such a loser? There would be time to figure it out later he supposed, wrapping the leash around his hand several times before scooping thick fingers under the buckle of Brig's collar to drag the resistant beast from the ring.
