Well, that really sums it up. This wednesday, I get my tonsils out. Any advice, consolation, or terrifying stories of tonsillectomies gone wrong are appreciated. Also, I'm having my little sister videotape me when the doctor puts the sleepy-juice in. Let me know if any of you want to see me giggle like a mentally-insane five-year old girl encountered with a shirtless Justin Beiber while she's in her pajamas. rofl

1) Too many people EVERY SINGLE DAY post something about this topic somewhere on Gaia. 2) The older you are, the worse the operationpost-op is. This is a nineteen-year old responding to this, n' I was eleven when I had it done. For me, the pain was comparable to a case of strep, but about three times as bad. Now I'm not exactly one who's always wincing when something hurts, but this was good enough. I've definitely had worse than that, but the worst part of the whole thing wasn't necessarily the pain as much as missing solid foods (always liked eating, still do to this day, n' I'm surprised I don't look like that kid who loves to eat). "terrifying stories", mehh, not to me, however earlier I helped one of my friends out with her tonsillectomy. Unfortunately, about 90% of my advice helped, but the rest was two hospital visits due to scabs falling off early causing lots of bleeding and gagging. This I didn't go through, but i knew this does happen occasionallly to older patients. Hope this doesn't happen to you. ]= 3) Anything related to Justin Bieber makes me gag.
sorry about your visit. The procedure is very common, though doctors have recommended fewer of these procedures over the years. Trying not to scare you, but I hope this helps!
