Hazzan loves games that let her stretch her imagination - both pen-and-paper and live-action roleplaying, so long as the plots are flying fast and furious. She is also an amateur writer, and rattles off page after page... although she'd be mortified to ever let anyone read her stories. Hazzan sees it as much safer to toss them a scenario and let them make up the words, and then if it goes badly she can blame it on them! She's not much for reading, though, preferring situations where she can directly influence events.
Sometimes Hazzan gets carried away, though - if a plot is going well, she can't bear to tear herself away from it, even if things are getting violent, she's putting herself into danger, or her Lusus wants her home for dinner. She'd much rather know how the story ends at all costs than leave something good unfinished until next week when the feeling is gone.
This goes for situations where she's only incidentally involved, too - Hazzan is a horrible rubbernecker to whatever drama she sees when she's out and about her town. She's prone to stay until what she sees as being "the scene" plays out - until the conflict is resolved or the parties involved leave. Although not nosy, per se, Hazzan considers whatever happens out in public to be fair game. Under these circumstances, Hazzan doesn't strive to be the center of attention - she just wants to get an eyeful of what's going on.
Hazzan has an unhealthy relationship with food - a trait she shares with her Lusus, who does little but graze continuously throughout the day. She is chubbier than other trolls her age and is somewhat sensitive about it. Hazzan claims she doesn't know why she's fat, and is reluctant to let anyone else ever see her eat, but when it's just her and Koaowl their hive is a 24/7 buffet.
Coming from a blood color that is either a high green or a low blue depending on who you ask, Hazzan struggles to be accepted by both groups. She is not inclined to feel superior or inferior to either bluebloods or greenbloods, finds purplebloods slightly intimidating, and is endlessly intrigued by the psychic powers sometimes displayed by lowbloods. Ultimately, a person's blood color is less important to how Hazzan takes to them so much as their willingness to play her games.
Strengths:
- Curious- Hazzan is possessed of an inquisitive mind and thirst for knowledge. She is never content with the simple explanation, always eager to take things apart and find out how they work. She thrives on being able to master new concepts and feeling like she understands a thing or two about the universe. She's also perpetually nosy - anything that plays out in public is fair game for Hazzan to go investigate. Hazzan wants to know what's going on and she wants to know now! No stone is left unturned and no detail is left unquestioned. Enthusiastic- Everything is the most exciting. Life is just awesome and Hazzan is thrilled to meet you. She rushes through life with a smile on her face and boundless enthusiasm. She is an eternal optimist, thinks life is just peachy, and is always ready to give it the old college try. When the world tries to get her down, Hazzan is likely to internalize her bad mood and power through. If anything, frustration just makes her more encouraged to finish what she started: she's already put too much in to the situation to just give up, even if her enthusiasm does become a bit manic after a certain point. Imaginative- Despite being at an age where most trolls should start becoming interested in more adult matters, Hazzan is still enamored with make-believe. She transitions easily between real and imaginary scenarios and creates vivid, involving fantasy scenarios that she insists on pulling others into. Her plots are mostly fresh and pretty original. She also has a tendency to create elaborate hypothetical situations about trolls she knows - Did you notice that Whatsherface and So-and-So have been awfully touchy-feely lately? Hazzan bets they're secretly matesprits! Wouldn't that be romantic?! At least in part, this wholehearted speculation about other people's lives is in order to distract attention from herelf.
Flaws:
- Impatient- If something is taking too long, Hazzan is more likely to give it up than to stick with it. She can't stand movies with slow plots, hates it when there's traffic, doesn't have good manners in crowds... Hazzan wants to get places at her own pace, and her own pace is breakneck speed. She would rather have the twist ending told to her than have to read the whole book, and her roleplays always have to move at a quick pace! No endless dice rolls for walking!Secretive- Eating and writing... there are some things in life that Hazzan feels are best done unobserved. And why shouldn't they be? It's not like anyone but herself (and maybe her Lusus) needs to know what she's doing any second of the day! Hazzan can never give a straight answer to "What are you doing?" because as far as she's concerned, what she's doing is none of your business! Hazzan rarely lets other people in on her plans, and is more comfortable acting from behind the guise of a roleplay character than exposing her own motivations. She writes the kind of flarp scenarios that are full of plot twists and sudden reveals, in an effort to keep playmates from guessing what might come next, and is wont to discuss next week's episode - Spoilers! With time and effort, Hazzan may open up slightly to her closest friends - but she'll never be someone who gives up her secrets lightly. Those who have earned Hazzan's trust may have a slightly better inkling of what she's up to, but she will still be, for the most part, tight lipped. Reckless- Hazzan puts her own personal safety last, especially for the sake of the story. She runs herself hard and fast in order to get as much done as possible, and if finishing the scene means she might break both her arms then, well, she'll just break them. She tends to get a little bit too involved in her roleplays, blurring the line between real life and fantasy - some might question if Hazzan even knows the difference at all. If it means the plot will have a satisfying climax or resolution, Hazzan doesn't care if she's bleeding from every orifice and thoroughly concussed because the story got told the way it was meant to be told. She tends to give herself the most dangerous roles in her roleplay scenarios, although no one is particularly safe - when you play with Hazzan, you almost always go home with skinned knees and bruised knuckles.
Weapon: Hazzan classes as a "WriterKind" in her strife specibus, and her weapon of choice is a fearsome JACOBEAN QUILL. It might be fluffy and froufrou on one end, but the writing point is razor sharp! Perfect for tickle fights - or writing messages in the blood of her enemies.
Appearance: Chubbier than the average troll, carrying some extra padding around her midsection and hips. Hazzan has curving horns that echo her symbol, with an extra prong sticking off the one on the same side as the cross on her symbol (Really they should curve opposite to how I've drawn them). She wears her hair in a messy ponytail, with some sloppy bangs pushed away from her face. She tends towards skirts and vests - anything that she thinks makes her look less chubby - and is a bit of a girly girl when it comes to fashion, even if her personality is more rough-and-tumble.
Home: A modestly-sized hive in the forest area of Four Fronds. Hazzan's lineage is decently wealthy, but not rich enough to for her to live lakefront or mix with the neighborhood's more regal inhabitants.
Lusus: Koaowl - A strange mixture of koala and owl traits, about the size of a normal koala but with feathers. A slow moving, relaxed Lusus who has allowed Hazzan a pretty wide range of what she can get away with before bringing down punishment - but what punishment he does dole out is severe. Hazzan adores her Lusus and does her best to stay on his good side, but as he is rather slow moving and this doesn't suit the pace she lives her life at, she is often seen carrying him around on her back in an effort to get places faster.
Power: No powers. Hazzan is devastatingly normal.
